Infiltrations notes for Mike Ross? One word.
Fray.
FChamp doesn't have the skills in AE to compete top level, nether does Mike Ross or Combofiend. The are good but no where near top players.
All 3 main focus should be UMVC3.
How can't some people see that Ryan and Mike were joking and just being playful? SMH...
He should just stick with MvC3 because his D'ism is old news. There are now random people who can beat him, not including the pros who play him in tourneys.
Y'all are confused. Fchamp only loses because he plays dhalsim. He beat latif at scr and y'all say he isnt top level. Mike Ross cut him off because fchamp beat him 7 to 6 and then mike Ross had to buy him chicken wings. Mike Ross didn't want the audience to hear that part for whatever reason.
Can Combofeind join tournaments for non-Capcom games or can he not join tournements at all?
I like Champ's confidence as always, but I don't think it's a realistic goal to win four straight tournaments with Sim. I think he could get one, but there's no way he could avoid bad matchups for the duration of four events.
@9 If Mike and Champ aren't top players, then what defines a top player? Mike placed fourth in Evo 2010 and is a regular top 16 finisher in majors. Champ is also usually in top 16 despite barely playing AE until, he says, recently. And both play mid-tier characters. Give some credit where credit is due.
FChamp should play another character in AE tournys
Fchamp is a great guy to have on a 5v5 team since he plays a character that has really good match-ups and really bad ones and the 5v5 format allows him to go in and get a stacked win in some cases and potentially more if a player doesn't know how to fight Sim (which, even at top levels, is a factor).
Fchamp only using Sim though to win a 1v1 tournament, or 4 of them in this case, is not realistic though.
@17
I just hate people who uses 'oh but he plays mid tier character' as an excuse, it's seriously getting old, no one asked them to use mid tier, if they insists then they must deal with what mid tier offers, ever heard of take responsibility for your actions? There are good players, then there are great players, it's a huge gap that separate the two, you know what I'm talking about. Using mid tier doesn't give you any advantage on moral ground against someone who uses top tier, so don't use it for an excuse for losing, it only make one's play worse, not better.
I generally don't keep up with Filipino Champ but that was a funny interview right there. lol. All of them were good. Mike Ross has found his niche.
@22 Fool, he was talking about how WELL both players do in SF4 despite using mid tier characters, he wasn't making excuses for them. Both do deserve credit for what they've done with Honda and Sim, and anyone that disagrees is a fool. Fool.
@12 Because F.Champ does'nt always seem to joke. he wears his heart on his sleeve and will say what he feels, good OR bad. So when I see interviews like this I have to really look to see if its a joke or not.
I don't get that vibe with any other competitor in the FGC but Champ. I respect him as a player but his attitude at times is a real put off. But thats just me.
What happened to Combo and Mike? What companies are they working for now and when did they switch? I haven't been paying attention to that kinda stuff:/
@27
You are the fool, doing well is solely due to the player, doesn't matter what character they use, using mid tier chars doesn't make them any better fool, how about try again fool? BTW if you can't read, 'both plays mid tier' is definitely implying something, fool.
@ SSF: you're still missing the point. Trying to say someone's performance
Is based purely on ones skill, and has nothing to do with a characters pros/cons, is the
Stupidest sh-t ever. Otherwise, Daigo would've stuck with Ryu in AE, instead
Of using broken A$$ yun. He obviously didn't have enough faith in his own skill
To win with Ryu. So the characters you play, PLAY a major role in your
Performance. You're right! No one forces anyone to play mid/low tier characters,
But they enjoy those characters, and they do very well with them considering.
@31
Many pros use 2 characters to cover bad matchups, no one told them to stuck with 1 mid tier character, 'He obviously didn't have enough faith in his own skill to win with Ryu.', that's a bad statement, he does have confident, just that Yun has a easier time against certain matchups, since he is a pro tournament player, every bit helps, then again he must be confident and enjoy Yun as well to do well in the first place, which he did, which comes to the player skill, anyone actually surprised Infiltration beat Hugo with Haken and Akuma at SCR? I think you are missing the whole point, not me. I can't say the same for other games, but mid tier in this game has mostly 5 or 4s across the board, which aren't bad, a Haken just took a local tourament in Japan recently, then again everyone can main more than 1 char, top tier or not, so this doesn't really matter.
@33
Because you got nothing to argue about, apparently you can't comprehend what I wrote. Average players will be average no matter who they use.
@ 17
Good Players = Mike Ross, FChamp, Floe, Alex Valle, Latif, PR Rog / Long etc.
Very Good Players (near top level) = Justin Wong, Ricky O, Dieminion etc.
Great Players = Daigo, Infiltration, Mago, Poongko, Sako, Xian, Momochi etc.
Hope this answers your question.
FChamp won't win s..t if he doesn't invest time in another charachter. In his prime with dalsim most of his match up were very good now times have changed. when you think about it dalsim maybe has the badest time against his bad match ups. And it's the same thing for Daigo. I honestlty don't pity top players that doesn't have a second character in 2013 and complain about match ups. I mean look at infiltration, he has 3 characters and each of them has a purpose. Dalsim will give a hard time to shotos but hey, a hakan or viper and you're out of the tournament for sure.
Fchamp's Sim during Supers (best ver.) run was amazing. You can tell he invested a lot of time and it showed. His Sim looked really good during the Canada Cup where Canada humiliated team Europe, but other than that he isn't willing to invest the time in his bad matchups, and he won't be going anywhere.
There was an SF4 drought in the US for a good year, while Japan has not stopped playing. Original AE destroyed SF4 and ver 2012 took too long to be released. Couple that with vanilla Marvel 3 dropping, and that's the real reason why the US is not on par with Japan in SF4 anymore. lol at trying to say Korea is good at SF.. you mean Infiltration? KoF and Tekken, yes. SF is still, and always will be, Japan's game.
The only European country making any kind of noise is France. Uh.. yeah, go France.
He wants to WIN?
Wow, I would have never guessed :|
@ 43
Daigo (using mid tier Ryu) came second in the Topanga A league, second in SF 25th San Fransisco and won the SF 25th Tournament qualifier in Japan again using mid tier Ryu (let's not forget that Ryu is no where near the best charachter, this shows how good Daigo is). Playing and beating all those killers in Japan is how I judge a great player. There are simply no Americans (or Europeans) in the same league as the Japanese, Koreans & Asian's.
