MvC3 Facebook: We are making sure the people who can make the big decisions for new UMvC3 content know the fans want it

We still aren't getting it.
We know everyone wants more and an update but......we should know it isn't happening...not in the near future at least.

I BELIEVE

Put Cyclops in the game and buff Sentinel and Storm.

Nothing beats a failure but a try.

That said, please try to keep the requests at an acceptable level.

Calling someone's house at 4 AM asking for Megaman or Thanos isn't a good look.

As much as I love watching people play UMVSC3, I really wish they did something with the netcode. It is horrible and makes the game unplayable.

If they put Nero from DMC4, Gene from God Hand, Gambit and Venom i'll be happy

A update is needed because of the demand.... However it has to benefit Capcom and Marvel in some way, so it has to be a paid update. I know I know, no one likes to spend money, but there has to be a compromise. We want update, they want money. I'm okay with that. Just give us an update worth paying for.

If Capcom was smart, they would FINALLY add the blue bomber. i'm sure with his inclusion people would be more then willing to give the game another go, not that I really care or anything. My character wish list has been filled since day 1

Surely sales numbers don't mean anything at a certain point - unless they sell the game to retailers for the same price as its initial release onwards?

Hopefully the update is going to become a reality. I think it it were to pass Asura is a must have. He belongs in that game, in my opinion of course. As for Marvel, Nightcrawler, Beast, Venom, Gambit, Doc Oc, Carnage, and many other great choices I can't even call off the top of my head would be pretty cool. Here's my fingers crossed.

I really dont think its worth CAPCOM's time or money to invest in an large update. Lets be honest games are an investment and it took longer than expected for UMvC3 to reach sales expectations. Would i pay for an update?

Hell yes but i dont want to hear Sven/anybody at CAPCOM complaining about how the update wasnt worth the investment. I dont know how UMvC3 honestly didnt sell double of what it currently has since the game is a FLASHY fighter that features MARVEL characters.

Not only that it has features like simple commands for people who dont even really play fighting games. Id also like to ad though i dont feel UMvC3 was advertised well enough.

SFxT 2013 will hopefully make it out by August so then a month or two of working on Dark Stalkers then UMVC content will start. Sometime in 2015 PC SFxT will finally get the 2013 update, but no DLC, thats coming in 2016.
Anyway the punchline here is Capcom needs to speed these updates up or no one is gonna care and more money wasted.

Anyone who cares more about the character then the quality of the game play needs to be executed. These same people probably keep the DOA Volleyball series alive. And Jergen's in business of course.

Buff weak characters like Arthur,Hsein-Ko,Viewtiful Joe etc.
To help people actually choose someone else besides Vergil,Dante,Wolverine,Doom,Wesker etc.

Man I hope we get an update, right now UMVC3 just kinda lacking for me, needs a bolt of some kind preferably new characters...
I'm going to guess some possible characters from the Marvel side:
Thanos, Star Lord/Groot, Falcon, Thor Character(s), and if we're lucky a Xmen or Spiderman character.
(Pretty Much Any characters from an upcoming movie or show)

Capcom it's anyones guess though, I have a feeling if we do get an update with new characters we'll get Asura.

Oh and anyone asking for Eddie Brock Venom, his Anti-Venom now so ask for Anti Venom. So your request is "relevant". Let's keep at it and hopefully our work will pay off.

Paid = DLC not update. Updates are always free. I mean AE2012 came with characters and stages, so it was DLC with an update grouped as a package. SFxT 2013, with no new content, is free.

Update out TAC infinites and other stupid sh*t not meant to even be in the game, add nothing, balance characters, I'm happy.

$20 for new characters to then cause new issues + new stages for no reason + balance changes which will need to be changed again due to the new characters = WASTE OF TIME

If we all request balance changes and glitch removal, we will get it. You ask for too much and they aren't going to do anything for fear of losing fanbase and sales due to disappointment.

You can at least use their own marketing strategy against them to gain what you want. The other 99% are going to request retarded stuff like Charlie and Cap Commando who have no relevance to current gaming or comics and we are going to get nothing. My prediction.

I personally would be happy with just an update to fix the slow netcode,buff some weak characters and remove infinites.

It gets OLD FAST!!!!!!!!! When all i fight are Vergils,Dantes,Wolverines,Dooms,Weskers and sometimes Tasks and Zeros.
Buff the shi**Y characters so people actually use them.

@26 You make some good points, and I see what your saying. I personally wouldn't mind the line up I gave especially Star Lord/Groot, though I'm probably the only person who has this opinion. I wouldn't whine if nothing happens with all this but at least we can try.

Every person begging for new characters is a SCRUB. They suck at the game and new characters is the only thing that will make the game fun for them again because they just want to play around in training mode.

REAL players understand that throwing new characters into the mix will only make the balance worse and force everyone to deal with all kinds of new nonsense.

Believe it or not, UMVC3 is actually a pretty good game. The best players are winning more frequently and skills are maturing.
Does the game have issues? Of course. But new characters are not the answer. The answers are: slightly adjust some of the super dumb stuff (maybe scale x-factor back again), buff some of the weaker characters, maybe change up TAC properties a bit (combo off a break, but with extra scaling, similar to post-throw combos), improve net code if possible, give us the hitbox viewer, and give Haggar 1F flight + 8-way air dash

@25, no one is going to go through contract negotiations and team reassignments for a balance patch.

UMvC3 is done. Whatever comes next will be a different animal.

#18 UMvC3 didn't sale well due to Vanilla being a blatant cash grabbing ripoff. They released a disk update of the same game within the same year leaving MvC3 valueless and totaling the cost if you bought Vanilla first to $100 for one game. If UMvC3 had come out after Vanilla aged a bit over a year, it would've sold better. Many people, like myself, did not support Ultimate because we felt cheated after spending $60 to show out support with Vanilla just to have the game rendered obsolete six months later.

Speaking for myself, duh, I refuse to do support an update that doesn't include characters or modes that I want. I bought Vanilla because I wanted to show Capcom how grateful I was that there even was a MvC 3; Ultimate included absolutely no character that i liked and I'm a religious comic book reader. There was nothing included to influence me to ignore the blatant cash grab so I just dismissed the game.

#33 Quit mudslinging. I agree that sought patches are the only things that need to be updated. However, most of the people who bought MvC3 only bought it to mash buttons with their pals. Sure, the fgc keeps the game alive and further explores it but they aren't the only audience. Some people don't play to win, they have fun in just playing with their fave characters.

In MvC2, I had no choice but to constantly focus on the top tier, but when I got very good, I was able to defeat opponents with a team lead by my fave character Rogue (with excellent assists like Tron and Storm). Knowing that the game already included some of my fave characters was great. MvC3 includes absolutely none of my faves (which is a huge list of characters that one would've expected to be auto-in) and UMvC3 didn't add anything interesting to me either; so I quit playing the game and never even purchased the latter.

There has to be something to draw one in beyond the game play. KOFXIII is probably the best fighter out there but it doesn't draw many people in. Most people don't want to invest in exploring the core mechanics of UMvC3 because, beyond the flashy supers, the game is very stale and highly boring. Veteran fighting gamer here and that's my honest opinion.

More characters are welcome, that's why Capcom is there to fix things if need. 2015, I don't think so, why do you think Capcom is hiring more people to finish projects much sooner. its been over a year and the game is still full of hype, strike whilst the iron is still hot, for those who dont wish to update the game ,dont download it but some of us think its time to update the game, Capcom wont lose money, its a no-brainer and that is listen to the fan requests, no doubt Marvel would want Thanos and as most of you know he's got a big role in Marvel comics and films and is also a MvC legend,a fan demand has been met and you got your character advertised-everyone wins, the point im trying to make is listen to the fans if you wish to make money,theres plenty of money to be made but listen to the fans,keep it fair too, dont want too many Street Fighters or Xmen, bring back Gambit and Psylocke,though i think Elektra can easily take Psylockes place, Elecktra cant teleport but a Hand Ninja can, have one of them as Elektras assist so she can teleport,no worries for her projectiles and ninja moves,she has that covered, no need for Cable as Punisher can take his place

Anyone wonder if they say "no" but have been working on an update the whole time? Maybe that ultimate marvel vs capcom x bs from long back wasn't bs after all. Balance changes can be altered over time as things pop up, characters and such could have been in the works until then.

They've been dropping hints left and right for weeks now, I think it's obvious we are most definitely very very likely gonna get an update, but I personally doubt that it will be a big one with new characters, stages and so on, probably just like SSFIVAE's 2012 update and SFxT's 2013 update.

If returning characters were brought in, the ones I'd want to see would be Roll, Amingo, Ruby Heart, Colossus, and Juggernaut.

One thing,though:Capcom can't forget about the Vita exclusives(Replay Option,Hitbox mode and Golden Herald colors for the collector)

In all honesty the only thing I can see that MIGHT need rebalancing is Vergil and Doom.

Problem is that if they nerf they might unnecessarily nerf Morrigan too after Chris G's play. As lame as it is (and I'm definitely no fan of it either), she doesn't need nerfs and is perfectly fine, because she's not that great by herself, just amazing with assists, more specifically Dr. Doom's assist.

Everything else is fine, maybe a buff here or there with the low tiers, but imo they are all good for the most part (invincibility to P.Wright's assists in Turnabout mode would really help him out, even though it wasn't what they intended).

It'll happen. Maybe not any time soon.

Look, we don't come off as the most intelligent group if what we want in an update to a game that didn't sell well, is characters that ... don't sell well. Cyclops is dead in modern marvel, Mega Man is in the sales toilet too and already appears in SFxT and as a UMVC3 alternate costume. And then, to top it off, people want MvC2 characters like Juggernaut? Come on.

The only characters we can expect are characters that appear in the latest and upcoming Marvel films:

Mandarin, Thanos, Emma Frost, Azazel, Loki, Malekith the Accursed, Black Widow, Agent Phil Coulson, Agent Maria Hill, Red Skull, Peter Quill/Star-Lord and Drax the Destroyer, Nick Fury and Falcon.

Look at all these morons whining about their dumb personal wishlists. Yeah okay, Capcom is listening and saying "Ah this dingus wants this character? DONE". That'll happen.

They need Marvel's approval for any updates, whether it'd be just balance or otherwise.

Anyways, I'd like to see more characters, stages, and modes, as well as balance changes. I dont have a wish list or anything, I have my characters set no matter who they add. The demand is there, clearly it's being noticed. Now Capcom and Marvel need to negotiate.

I'm fine with only balance (and stuff like improved net code) but one can always hope they'll add some characters or stages

#61 Well face it, if there's going to be an update, the only logical thing to do is add new characters, modes, and stages. They're not going to AE2012 this because they have Marvel to negotiate with and money has to be exchanged. Might as well add some new stuff if we're paying for it. @53 The problem with making new characters for mainstream consumers at this point in time is that:

#1) Those that have not already bought UMvC3 yet are still not likely to buy UMvC3 in the future, and
#2) Those who bought UMvC3 in the past are not as likely to buy DLC in the future. Heck, they may not even own the game anymore.

The MvC3 series is already about two years old at this point. The window to cash in on the somewhat more casual mainstream consumer interest has long since passed. So if they're going to make new DLC this late in the game's lifespan, then it had better be for the devoted fans.

(Not that they're guaranteed to make any at all, of course.)
