Romneto has posted a video showing a new discovery for Jin in Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

This is the first ever inverted infinite in the game's history, and is one of the game's true infinite combos that won't cause the opponent to eventually fall out.

Props for Romneto keeping MvC2 alive. Shows it's still lots of tech to be found in a decade old classic.

How does one go about inverting a character anyway?

Wow.

That's the whole point of the video. I never said that I discovered the Jin Taunt Infinite, nor did I say the Infinite itself is new. It is impressive to do an infinite upside down though. It is the first inverted infinite in the history of MvC2. You may not like it, but you cannot disprove that fact.

There are no posts anywhere about doing the Jin taunt Infinite inverted. It doesn't matter that the infinite was already discovered. As I wrote already, I didn't discover the infinite. I am the first person to do an Infinite inverted. That is a fact.

There is nothing in your video that shows the same concept that's in my video. You didn't show any inverted Infinite. Seems as though you are trying to promote your video.

I like how Romneto ignored the most important question here. How the eff do you get inverted?

I didn't ignore the question. I chose to defend against the unwarranted criticisms first. That is my decision and I stand by it. The full explanation for the glitch is quite complex. The soon to be completed MvC2 Inverted Exhibition will include a detailed explanation of how to setup the glitch and how to achieve different effects.

Setup: (player 1) - Venom/Omega Red (throw) - Call Omega Red assist, Venom hp throw. The opponent should be on the far side of the screen (their back to the wall). Different size/weight characters require different timing to throw. You know the glitch was done properly if the character is thrown into superjump height and doesn't break out of the web right away.

(player 2) - experiment doing different normal attacks, specials, taunts, supers as soon as the character pops out of the web at the peak of the throw arch. It is crucial to do a constant sequence of attacks while the character is descends. That is what keeps the inverted mode active. There is only 1 frame when the descending character lands on the ground and stands inverted. That's why timing is imperative when you want to do ground moves.

Note: After the character is thrown into sj height, that character is in a very strange mode. It is not normal jump and not super jump. The character can call assists in sj height (normally only allowed in normal jump mode) and can do multiple specials & supers before landing (only possible in sj mode).

So the character normally falls out of jin's taunt infinite and only is it a true infinite if inverted, or is this just the same, but jin happens to be inverted?

The new discovery is that it is the first ever inverted infinite in MvC2. The Jin taunt infinite works using the same button (taunt) when he is standing upright. In both forms (normal and inverted) it is a true infinite.

The inverted Jin taunt infinite has an inverted reverse hitbox just as all normals/specials/supers do while inverted mode is active.

@29 ah ok. Guess a brand new infinite would have been cooler, but mad props for keeping going on mvc2. Still playing this after ten years, still crap at it, still loving it. Doubt there's too many of the current crop I'll be able to say that about.

Thank you. I agree that a new Infinite would be even better. Still, I am very happy to have discovered the first inverted Infinite. I've also discovered many original, innovative MvC2 combos. I make highlight videos as well. I strongly recommend you to watch MvC2 Online Highlights v.2. It is considered by many to be the best MvC2 highlights video. Volume 1 is quite entertaining too.
