Socal Regionals to host Street Fighter x Tekken v2013 invitational featuring Infiltration, Justin Wong, Ricky Ortiz, PR Rog and more Alex Valle recently jumped on Twitter to promote an upcoming Street Fighter X Tekken v2013 invitational on the Socal Regionals website. Honestly these guys are gonna make the update seem boring cause they're gonna be doing the same stuff they were doing in the original version. They should at least give these guys a few days to practice with the new version before the tournament.

@6 one thing for sure is that they will no longer be able to abuse those stupid chain combos to hit confirm anymore. But whether or not the changes will actually encourage more aggressive play is debatable.

9: They can abuse them, but if they MISS, they get punished. No more safe boost chains, like ending Kazuya's with a standing heavy punch. You COULD do them, but it can get blown up easier now.

That being said, I wanna see if these guys will step up their game or not.

im more than sure they will get a couple hours prior the exhibition, but nothing major, i will be nice to see the game played like this, as it will show us what works and what doesn't kinda fun and exciting to see imo, we will see what is capable over a little time

cant bloody wait to see this and for the update to land

While I like this, I do think that everyone whos using their standard ryu rolento type bs teams are going to make the game seem like it hasn't changed.

My prediction: EG guys will wake up roll all day and get thrown by Tatsu and Infiltration all day. Then they'll be like: "WTF I teched that stuff! Also, where did my red life go?!"

Then it'll be Infiltration vs Tatsu in grand finals. Infiltration will try to go for his 2012 herp derp setups and Tatsu will be like: "That doesn't work anymore bitch".

Also Mike Ross is gonna get double perfected by Combofiend. But I guess that one is a given.

Not a good idea. These guys barely know how to play the current version (some of them). This is not good for the game IMO. Tatsu and Infiltration are pretty much the only two. And Valle for third.

I'm pretty sure Capcom has given each player an early copy or something so they can practice before the invitational. Just hope there is no staged Double K.O. again lol. In any case I hope Tatsu does well, the guy puts in a lot of time and it shows in his gameplay.

So we get people that don't really play the game like Ricky Ortiz, but we don't get Jibbo or Ryan Hunter or any of the SFxT defense force?? This should be interesting.

I'm surprised Sethlolol was not invited.

@AlgeKevin

As far as I know Combofiend and Tatsu plays the game. Combofiend because it's his job and Tatsu because it's his passion. Not sure about the others though.

Ricky has always liked sfxt but didn't have anyone to play with.

LOL.

Why is PR Rog in this? No Jibbo, Ryan Hunter, Sethlolol, Mike Ross, or even Santhrax? (you know, people who actually enjoy the game).

Wow. They gave so many invitations TO PLAYERS THAT DON'T EVEN PLAY THE GAME! Ricky didn't even know know that launchers crushed lows and made the excuse that he got hit with "random launchers" when in reality he got read like a 13yrold girl's love novel for being predictable.

@26

If I recall correctly, Tatsu was going to drop the game IF they made rolls become 100% punishable by full combos like it was originally planned. That would've made zoners insanely powerful and made SFxT become too much vortex oriented like AE.

But they changed their mind about rolls being a free combo so maybe now Tatsu is gonna stick around? Let's hope so. :)

I watched that "fake" double KO. I can't believe people are still compalining about that 3 years old. It's way, WAYYY in the past. Like Adam Sessler at Evo 2010. Like the Evo 2009 stream going down during grand finals. Like a 100 other minor radar blips in the fighting game community that some people love to hold on to like a stale piece of rotten trash.

Alex Valle was willing to give his spot to Sethlolol but he couldn't make it to SCR sadly. Hope Tatsu does well and reconsider quitting sfxt!
