Either Alpha 4 or SF5.
But even though probably no one cares about this but if it's alpha, that could possibly mean that's gonna be a prequel to the SF story. Which means before SF3 which means possibly no SF3 characters (not unless they make some plot hole stuff or stuff that doesn't make sense like Yun in alpha 3).
But when they say alpha 4 I hope they mean "Alpha gameplay" But also the next chapter in the story instead of a prequel.

Must be an update to SSF4AE! Ryu's headband is red, not white like in the alpha series lol. But realistically speaking it probably is Alpha 4, or at least an HD Online Edition version of Alpha 2/3.

Looks like its Alpha/Zero 4 but we have 2 versions of Chun Li in that picture so no one can tell.

I remember when he trolled with a guy throwing a hadoken to the screen in a photo and days later "SUPER" Street Fighter 4 was announced. If that photo is the scene or cover of any of the alpha series then we got our answer.

Why are we asking for street fighter alpha 4 we already got SFIV and enough expansions for it. Now im not saying i wouldnt mind another expansion or update to SFIV however lets not over saturate the SF market like CAPCOM did years ago.

The SF alpha games ended perfectly and we dont need another sequel. If were going to get sequels lets give it to some games that are more deserving for example Darkstalkers, Rival Schools or a CAPCOM VS SNK sequel. Pretty much more original franchises and not a some SF spin off.

There were a few reasons why SF died out and SF3 wasnt just to blame. One of those few reasons was an over saturation of SF games in general. There were numerous SF2, SF alpha and SF vs titles. I still play SFIV but i also understand CAPCOM has to give it a rest when it comes to games with SF in the title.

Besides weve seen a good majority of the SF alpha cast this gen in other CAPCOM fighting games and yes i know its not the same thing as having them in alpha however i still feel there are other franchises that are more deserving of a sequel. This gen is almost over lets end it with some games that dont feature SF in the title.

I want to SF5 on next gen consoles not this gen and i personally wouldnt mind another update to SFIV AE.

please dear god not another flippin alpha. i'm tired of the same characters in sf games. i want more of the SF3 characters brought in not more of the old bland characters we already have.

Give us rival schools already. Give us something legitimate where I can invest some time in. I've been playing street fighter and the HD remixes for far too long, enough where I don't even buy them anymore. Even SSF4 has withered away for me. I actually liked vanilla SF4, and believed if they wanted to add characters they should have made SF5 already.

Really hoping its Alpha 4 like most of you, and not an Alpha 3 re-release

@33 I'm with you on this one, while I loved the alpha series during it's time, I don't want to play a 3d version of Alpha 3, I would like something fresh but at the same time a SF title game can bring in some new hype until SF5 comes out.

If it's a prequel to SF including the SF1 cast, young akuma, goutetsu as a hidden boss and bison before psycho power then I'm hyped, take my money capcom! :D

If it's a sequel to Alpha 3 with the same people (!NOW IN 3D!) and a sorry attempt to stretch the plot and some new gimmick mechanic then I'll sit this one out.

Beyond the rest of the cast i'm just not sure why Alpha would be necessary.

Don't get me wrong, I was a freaking Alpha junkie! 1,2,3 and I burnt up three PS1s playing Alpha 1! In fact the Alpha series brought me back to SF after I became bored of only playing SF2.

Having said all that... AE > Alpha all day. And please don't forget how special Alpha was/is to me. I'm not trying to start a war lol.

Focus/FA/FADC > and more versatile than the alpha counter and parries combined! (Huge sf3 fan also)

If an updated alpha came out I'd have to choose between roster specific characters! That would suck and split up the SF community. Simply port over the rest of the Alpha characters to SF4 and call it whatever you want.

After spending some time thinking about it we very well might be getting a SF Alpha online edition. @60 I agree alpha was great in its hey day and i played the hell out of every sequel. Thing is though SF isnt as popular as it once was and another bunch of updates for another SFIV sequel (street fighter alpha IV) would be overkill.

With all the people who are wanting an updated version of the alpha games i see an online edition happening and hopefully thats it. I personally dont want to see an alpha sequel anytime soon especially this gen cant say that enough.

Fans have been clamoring for a DS game for quite a while so i can see that happening depending on how well DS resurrection sells. If DS resurrection bombs in the eyes of CAPCOM i doubt well see sequel. I personally hope we get a DS sequel and im most definitely picking up DS resurrection.

Also this gens almost over so i wouldnt mind one last update for SFIV.

Now that I think about it I actually don't want another alpha game I mean most of the alpha characters are in sf4 or sfxt an we already have 2 sf type games this gen that is enough to hold out to sf5 or whatever I just feel Capcom doesn't need to release a new fighter till ps4/xbox is out,heck I think it would be best to just release sfa2.3.an upper in HD with online anyways still think its too soon for another sf type game just update ae since its not really slowing down

For sure they work on a new Darkstalekers title. That's why they release HD remake of the old games. Also, recently on Comic Con they released a teaser called "Darkstalkers Are Not Dead" (just type it on youtube). I think that is more than clear that a new Darkstalkers title.

I think a new alpha series would be kinda cool in the sense of air blocks and then implementing something new. Characters should be based on an early age round sf1 times reintroducing some sf1 chars a load of alpha chars some sf3 and sf4 and then maybe +4 new chars.

This would be awesome but then timing is essential this game should be release in 2 years and probably be the last sf on this gen. The game can most definitely work it's just down to the timing as there are a few capcom fighters out now that have a big life span, people won't touch a new sf game having invested so much time in other titles, I think capcom should wait until those games simmer down first before releasing such a big title.

Ideally they should release a darkstalkers 4 giving us players a 3D fighter from capcom, meaning they would have covered a lot of styles in the fgc

#94: Do you not know how to parry? Parrying supers takes far more skill than using FA. The fact that they didn't have parrying in SF4 and replaced it with FA just shows that they are trying to cater to casuals a bit more. Alpha counters I'll give you though.

With all due respect, your only crediting the FA with its 'parry like' feature.

But since you seem aware of how it works ill not bother listing the various was focusing can be used beyond parrying.

Focus attack is the dynamic and versatile evolution of the Parry and Alpha Counter. Plus it is a meter building custom combo creator.
