Ed Boon teases Penguin, Martian Manhunter and DLC for Injustice: Gods Among Us

In a seemingly random tweet, Ed Boon appears to be teasing a new character for Injustice: Gods Among Us.

In a picture of his clock, you can clearly see the two folders on his desktop named Penguin, Martian Manhunter and DLC. Boon has teased many characters in the past and just recently confirmed that some will be for story only and will not be playable.

Here is his tweet and below is the image.

For some reason I'm STARVING. Time is moving slow today. Dinner order can't get here soon enough !!

While i'm all for more Batman Characters, I would love to see some other non-Batman characters revealed just to avoid people crying about it being a Batman+Friends game

Penguin? There's no way he's playable. Overlooking the fact that there's already enough Batman characters... if they had to add more, there are FAR better choices than Penguin.

Martian Manhunter, on the other hand, would be a 100% welcome addition!

@3 Someone on TYM said that those symbols just mean those folders are shortcuts. Presumably the ones with that mark (MMHunter, AIAS, and Cinema Renders) were actual folders that were moved to the desktop or "make a desktop shortcut". The folders without the marks (Penguin, DLC, and Co???) may be empty folders that were just created on the desktop as a troll or distraction.

As much as I would want Penguin, his folder is empty. That could be an Ono-level troll move.

And I think it's Ironic that people say "no more Batman characters" because they want variety... and then they request Superman clones like Shazam and Powergirl... at least Penguin would have some unique moves. He could be this game's MODOK.

#1 I hate to break it to you but the moment Bane was shown I came to the conclusion that this game really is Batman and His Amazing Friends unless maybe we get just as many Superman characters cause by all means Superman was DC's first superhero and pretty much the first superhero so I think he deserves something special in a game like this.

When 25% of the total cast is made up of Batman characters, then the game pretty much is Batman & Friends. Especially if the game's story revolves around the Joker as the main villain, which has been implied multiple times already.

There's nothing to suggest that Power Girl would necessarily be a Super Man clone, and we already know from DCvsMK that they can differentiate Shazam and Superman easily enough, so that argument doesn't hold up.

WTH where all the gals Boon?! are you hating on females or something? ...there're so many female DC characters Netherrealm could add that there's not even funny!...among the most hyped/asked are - Black Canary, Hawkgirl, Vixen, Powergirl/Supergirl (either of these me thinks...), Poison Ivy (even though she's "yet another" Batman character...) and many many more!...whats with all the no love for female roster?...so far we only have Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, Catwoman and thats ALL?...Boon...you gotta be kidding me...more females or i won't buy this freaking game as everything about it seems already disappointing to me!...

Batman characters thus far: Batman, Nightwing, Harley Quinn, Joker, Bane, Catwoman. So I'm counting 6 Batman characters out of the 15 or so characters revealed so far. If I remember correctly Boon said this game would have like 20 or 22 characters. I don't know if he counts Boss characters in the mix but I would say he is probably saving the best ones for last. Would really like to see some Green Lantern play.

Boon has said they want this game to be a franchise. Batman is the most casually popular and well known lot of DC characters. It makes sense that the first game int he franchise would be populated with the most casually popular characters. Just like the MvC games were heavy on X-men. Not sure why everyon is acting surprised that 6 of a likely 24 or Bat-verse.

I don't understand why is everyone surprised about seeing so many Batman Universe characters in this game!
Batman is DC's main hero! No other character had more comic books or movies than him.
Green Lantern will sure make it, so his fans need not to worry. Not sure about Black Adam or Shazam, it will depend entirely on the game's story. One of them will make it for sure.
Darkseid or Doomsday will also make it in the roster, DC wants these villains promoted, the Joker will be the mastermind but he will need to ally or use others in order to achieve his plan.

PS: in my oppinion Penguin will add variety, no other character is like him. I also believe Aquaman will be playable (from start or as DLC) even if there are not many people that like him.
