@1 We don't need an MVC4 just yet, not everything about UMVC3 has been discovered yet. I don't even care for balance changes, cuz this is Marvel, I've come to except that a Marvel game will have OP characters and broken sh*t. I just want some new characters and some new stages, I'll be good if we get that. IF they do some balance changes then I'd like to see Hidden Missiles disappear on hit, and just effing nerf Vergil. Just nerf his a$$. Idk what to nerf, just make him less stupid.

@1 Yes, we have barely optimized 1/4th of the cast, and starting work on a new games with different cast/mechanics is a sound idea

This is good news considering it hasn't been very long since the article of who we should be contacting on the Marvel side was posted. Hoping for at least a patch, keep it up guys!

"polite, friendly and excited" sounds like the kind of right comments to pay attention to. But let's assume Marvel greenlits Capcom and they make an update (whether it's a paid update or not I think it's not important at this point), what kind of tweaks would they make to the overall game? would people accept said update if it doesn't have any kind of new characters, customes or stages? Marvel/Capcom are at the risk of getting into deep sh*t if they ever dare to make a move. Better think about it before getting back to work.

I work at a IT firm and when clients have "comments" that we will pass along doesn't mean we do. We ride it off and on another note. Capcom svenson is making yall think yall voice are being heard. maybe 4 new characters and 2 new stages... more alt colors...hell anything to keep it alive (to casual gamers). If they do add more characters, Gene, Asura, Venom and Rogue are on my wishlist

I'm down with new characters, but they need to give some lower tier characters some buffs. It doesn't need to become a nerf fest of the top tier.

Asura, Gene, Mega Man X, and someone from Killer 7 for Capcom characters and Gambit, Silver Surfer, Punisher, and Daredevil for Marvel and if possible Captain Marvel (formerly Ms. Marvel) and Luke Cage are my picks for new characters. And at least 4 new stages

@19: Oh, absolutely, man. Marvel is currently THE fighting game all people look up to, so of course I'm in favor of Capcom doing something to keep the interest. But let's be real here: it doesn't depend entirely on them (because if it was god knows they would've done it a long time ago). Remember the patches to AE and SCV? Namco and Capcom made them because people asked to, yet they weren't receptive of them at all.

And my requests? I can say I don't have any. Regardless if the update to UMVC3 happens or not, I'll keep playing the game. Regardless if the update is paid or not, I'll get it. Regardless if the update is digital or disc only, I'll get it. It's a game that I've accepted for what it is, and it works in its very own way, so I don't have any complain about it.

@22 They tried silver surfer they didn't know how to implement his Surf Board in combat and he was looking to similar to ice man.

Hopefully we get more characters and hopefully Peter Parker Spider Man as a playable character. Glad to see Dock Ock in the game, but I want Peter Parker.

I`d like to see if Marvel could be somehow convinced to make a PC version of UMvC3. I`d be so happy to have that game in my PC library. I do have the game on PS3. I just prefer the quality and lower latency on PC more.

You're actually pretty spot on. That isn't a bad reason for marvel to pick up on the game again. since we all know they are basically using this game as one big advertisement.

If Mega Man somehow makes it into UMVC3, I hope they don't make him suck/nerf him. That would be a huuuuuge disappointment.

As far as balance changes, have doom's hidden missles disappear on hit only when he's an assist, if he's on point they stay and for morrigans astral vision no meter gain unless hit connects, chip damage doesnt count. And for new characters how about Groot and Twelve or Lord Raptor.

Again, fair warning. If we get more characters, expect Avengers & Guardians of the Galaxy on the Marvel side rather than X-Men & Spider-Man reps (gotta promote those movies).

Well that didn't take very long for Marvel to become aware of the demand lol. I know it takes a ridiculous amount of corporate negotiating to get a contract for this kind of thing, but I hope Capcom and Marvel can work something out. I'm sure Marvel doesn't mind the massive amount of free advertising they get from all the streams, not to mention the plugging they can do for current properties.

I agree with #1 as I've stated before. I think it would be a better financial decision for Capcom and Marvel to make MvC4.

And no, it wouldn't sell better on the next gen systems. There is already a huge install base for 360and PS3. By releasing on the next gen they are cutting their potential consumer base down by a lot.

For example, let's say 10% of consumers would buy an MvC4 game. 10% of the current install base is going to yield much better returns than 10% of maybe a couple million systems each for a next gen system.

I say release MvC4 now and make MvC5 for next gen once those systems have been out for a few years and have a bigger install base.

Well I don't think capcom would need Marvel's Say if they were just doing a simple character patch, but I could be wrong.

This is really good news. Seems like our voices are being heard.

rather than characters, i'd rather see a patch for the current roster and gameplay. Mainly:
-remove infinites
-nerf TAC
-buff some of the worst characters (hsien-ko, ghost rider, etc.)

Given a year has gone by with no significant updates to UMvC3, I think it's safe to say this version of the game is done. Every year since SF4 has been out has had a new version, so this is why I think UMvC3 is all done. My thought is that these tweets by the Marvel reps are more of an indication to them to send to their powers that be that there is interest in a completely new MvC game, which I'd be more in line for. Personally, UMvC3 is just not for me, but I'd be willing to give MvC4 a fair chance, too.

Man, this is great news. The possibility of an update gives me hope. Even if it's only a balance patch, I wouldn't mind at all. Provided they make good adjustments, though. Some of the buffs they made from Vanilla to Ultimate were... questionable.

If they DO update with characters, I'd like to see:

-Ms. Marvel (Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers, whatever you wanna call her. She was rumored to be in Avengers 2, not sure if the rumor is debunked though. Either way, she kicks serious ass, and her energy absorption could add something interesting.)
-Hank Pym (I'd prefer Yellowjacket, but because of the Ant-Man movie, he'd probably use his Ant-Man suit if he made it in.)
-Wonder Man (My somewhat obscure Avengers pick lol. I think people would like him.)
-Vision (Another Avenger. He'd be friggin broken with his phasing.)
-Luke Cage (Why didn't I think of this one? He's a must if they do an update!)

Don't really have requests for the Capcom side, beside Megaman. Gene and Asura would be good picks, though.

i wouldn't mind more Characters,possibly MVC2 character pack,colors,stages but NO DAMN NERFS because some scrub players don't want to learn to adapt to the mechanics,there will always be top tier characters that bodies the rest of the cast get over it,Marvel 4 can wait another year maybe 2 but dats pushing it but i love Marvel Vs Capcom Series and the hype at majors :D

No need for a 4th game. If they choose to do a second update one day then fine. I wont purchase it unless it has atleast one or two things that I want (I bought MvC3 1st week brand new to show my support; skipped UMvC3 due to what it meant for Vanilla).

Honestly, the only way I'll support an update is if it includes at least two characters from my wish list (being a fan of comics since I was a child and still going out to purchase Marvel's ridiculous and currently lackluster Marvel NOW line of comics. Argh.).

Other than that, I don't care to see nerfs or buffs as most of the cast has not been explored thanks to wanting quick wins. Don't care about stages either. You include about 4 of my picks (especially Rogue) you got's yourself a day 1 purchase.

Yeah, Rogue truly makes me forget about all of the things I dislike about this game (legitimate complaints and all).

I would to like see more risks for Team Aerial Counters, and most importantly to improve the online net-code for increased interaction and competition amongst players. Oh and new characters would be like cool too, but the game is still not fully explored.

I'd like an update with port to PC and 4 new characters. Psyloche, Rogue, Megaman, Gin. Aerial combo bugs removed. Buff to the lower tiers and females who somehow have lower health and less options than the males. Nerf to hidden missiles so they are removed when Doom is hit. Replays. Possible nerf to damage all around so you can't 1 touch kill characters.

I concur with the majority of you. If they do decide to update umvc3 or make mvc4 they need to buff most of the cast. For me personally, I don't understand why they nerf shuma. They buff devitalization by making it a command throw but nerfed the heck out of him; i.e. his spike ball hyper sucks now without invincibility and some of his good normal moves in vanilla sucks now. Personally, I don't think the spike ball should be grab-enabled it's so stupid that it is.

I'd like to see Doc Ock and Venom... Oh and obviously, nerf that damn Devil May Cry brothers!
