#11 But he's saying an undeniable truth. If the online was worthy, more players including myself, would dedicate more time to it.

But,alas, the netcode is wonky and the game does not have a local scene where I live.Dead game walking....V_V

online would help it grow, but not as much as people think, unlike SF and i suppose marvel you can't become decent just playing online in KOF unlike those two other games. People have to put probably a lot more time into KOF than they would in any other 2D fighter. If there not willing to put in the time into a game like KOF having a better online wouldn't do as much as you'd think :P

Yeah the KOF pros have put a lot of time into the series, but online would certainly help the game grow. I personally love how technical it is and how hyped up the matches are, but none of my friends play it because they're playing so much SSF4 and MvC3 that they don't want to spend time learning another game. My other option would be the arcade, but they don't have it here. So my only other option to actually enjoy it would be to play online, but sadly it is really awful. So my only experience with the game is arcade mode, hours in training and the few times my friends are willing to play it instead of SSF4 when they come over. Because of that, I gave up on the game a long time ago. That would change really quickly if SNK fixed it, but it doesn't seem likely. Not everyone has access to friends who enjoy such games or arcades. For some people, their only option is to play online. Contrary to popular belief, online DOES makes you better at a game, just not as much as an offline match due to lag. It's still enough to get you off a good start, get you hooked and make you push to actually become better at it. I seriously doubt SSF4 would be as huge as it is right now if it weren't for online. When you make a game such as this, you better have good online otherwise your game won't be as popular.

@14

Are you Smoking, Lacid and MadKOF got destroyed by Shoki, Koukou and Haregoro

And there was no 5VS5 but a team battle in Gamespot versus, all the Koreans had 5 lives and they managed to loose knowing that japan teams, was composed of only Shoki, Koukou and Haregoro as a good players.

Like in SF there is a world between Japon level and the rest of the world in KOF13, you can always ask your idol, Bala.

I don't think Mexico is better. If Bala is their best, then he has lost twice to the CafeID guys, and Japan has beaten CafeID, including both Lacid and MadKOF.

IMO the global KOF food chain goes
Japan
Korea
Mexico
Asia
USA

@22 "I'll stick to ssf4" I should have just told you that in the first place, saying "who cares" when there is a passionate community for the game makes you look like a complete ass hat. Just don't come here and dismiss a great fighter because your town sucks, sorry had to be said...

Sorry but he has a point. KOFXIII is an amazing fighter, but because of it's netcode, it's losing popularity quite quickly. If SNK were to fix this problem, I'd expect a lot of people to come back to this game.

Look at it this way, a company releases a really nice, powerful, cheap and high fuel economy car. Everyone loves the car and it looks and seems to run absolutely perfect. Now everyone decides to buy this car, but it turns out it only works in drive ways, race tracks and in specific types of streets. Some people have big drive ways and can enjoy it at home. Other have access to race tracks so they can ride it there, but for others it was just a waste of money because they can't do anything with it so they either bought it and it's now collecting dust or they didn't buy it at all. This results in lots of initial sales, but very low ones once people see the truth about it. Unless the company issues a fix to the problem, the product itself is a failure due to only a minority of people who can enjoy it.

It's the same with this game. For most people, online is awful and others don't have arcades around to go play it and others don't have friends who enjoy this game. For you to call him a complete ass because he moved on due to him being in the category of people who can't enjoy the game, well you're the one being a elitist jerk.

@24 I'm not calling him an ass hat because he moved on, thats his loss, but for him to say "who cares" is implying that absolutely NO ONE gives a sh*t about this game and that nobody plays it, at all, which isn't the case. It's complete foolishness of the highest order, a blatant lie, and creates negative vibe.

Well if you want to get good, you are defenitely not going to spend a lot of time online. If you want to just have fun then no online sucks.

Here in Mexico, NOBODY plays online, yet we keep our scene alive by showing up in locals and tournaments. Even small communities of 3 or 4 dudes playing weekly can be fun as heck and good enought to start developing some skills.

If you dont really ever leave your house, for whatever reason then I understand. I guess a game like Kof is not as popular, as a capcom game to really get into, B¿but if you do its really worth the investment.
