I'm stationed in Kuwait right now and it saddened me to know this was going on since I can't leave the base whenever I want. Good to hear the tournament was great though. I had no idea Kuwait had a fighting game scene. Good stuff. Filipino Champ and the rest of the guys should come out to Camp Arifjan sometime so we can get some sets in here. I'm trying to start a little community while I'm here.
Thought it was pretty disrespectful of Justin and Champ to play out an obvious pot split GF with B teams having been invited all that way.
Am I listening to the same interview because I heard all 3 say they are scary drivers but have potential to be really great fighting game players, namely in SFIV. I guess I'm fortunate to have poster #5 and #7 in the comment section to point out all the negativity in a video I thought was fairly positive and enjoyable.
I can show you the world. Shining, shimmering, splendid.
Leave it to you guys to come away with a bitter taste from what was an overwhelmingly upbeat and positive interview.
I should not be surprised that F Champ has haters, but it's pretty obvious if you watch his streams that he's a good guy.
I want to say that the FGC is a bunch of bitter trolls, but it's not really the FGC. It's us. The nobody spectators. For some reason we're all beligerant idiots. The people who are actually out there playing in public and on streams seem cool.
This interview reminded me of that.
Almost seems to me like the online FGC is one big overmind spreading nonsense and being idiotic. Well at least Capcom games. I remember how it struck me when I started playing Blazblue:CT, how the Aksys community seemed much much better. At least the micro-communities, such as some character-specific mainers, like Guile players for example, are a nice bunch.
There's nothing wrong in this video, maybe except when Ryan Hart says something about "kamikaze drivers" which I found hilarious.
It's true though. When these guys drive on the highway they give no sh!%s about the speed limit. Cop on the side of the road? F*@k it let's crank that speed up! When I'm riding on the highway here I just sleep and hope I make it to my destination. lol I can also understand why they would think that the Middle East is nothing but a bunch of terrorists and violence. That's all the media shows when dealing with these countries most of the time. Kuwait really is peaceful. It's Afghanistan and Iraq that still have the violence going on. I'm grateful I'm not stationed in either of those places right now.
I'm not sure I can really blame these guys for having a stereotypical understanding of the Middle East. Most North Americans will have a very skewed view of it, specially due to news outlets like CNN.
@16 Once you get to know the ArcSys community you'll understand all their bull as well.
it's true about the "kamikaze drivers" here in the middle east. if you are terrified by driving in kuwait, then you should never drive in jeddah.
it's funny seeing JWong and ryan wearing traditional kuwait thobe and shimagh. it fits justin more than ryan, it's totally easy for me to imagine him speaking arabic.
