Five Super-Skrull Inferno's in one combo, Tron Bonne combo guide, Honzo Gonzo Taskmaster tech and more - Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3

Previously, Hi I'm Nasty was able to land four of Super-Skrull's Inferno Hyper Combo's in a single combo. Paulojuniorweb wanted to see if he could take it a bit further and so was able to land five in a single combo for Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

Even though it uses all five meters, it doesn't do very much damage.

Hit the jump to see more.

Drakengard32 has compiled a short yet great video showing off what Ryu can do with Nova and Dr. Strange backing him up.

Honza Gonzo has posted two videos of some Taskmaster technology, while not new it's some pretty interesting tech. Up first is a full screen fuzzy guard setup using Dr. Doom's missile's assist followed by a swing cancel to horizontal arrows.

HyperMarth comes today with a new Tron Bonne combo guide. There are a number of sections from 1-meter solo combos, multi-meter and crossovercounter combos, assist combo examples and more.

In the video description there is also a full write up for the combos if you wanted to get the inputs.

Oh Tron. People complain about j.H being nerfed and that using j.S as a combo starter scales the damage hard but does that really matter if Tron can ToD quite easily with the right assists?

She's like Spider-man now, not some assist you can hide behind anymore.

This may be an ignorant question to ask, but what is it exactly that makes Tron low tier? She can pretty much kill you off of what seems to be a very easy confirm. Only thing that seems to be wrong with her is her ability to get in on zoning (which is a big deal if you're trying to fight effectively against Morri/Doom). Once again I may be asking a very ill informed question since I don't really know the character, but I was just wondering.

4 with no "great" assist anymore and limited mobility for solo confirming, shes defintly a "point" charactar. How do you think she stacks up against other point charactars like Wolvie or Zero who have the same meter loops and damage but way better/easier confirms? She has more health.... LOL. amirite?

Lol, I see your point now. But would you say she's more closer to mid tier than low tier? Or are here options that bad now?

disclaimer: me not being nearly a good/competative marvel expert aside....

She is pretty much the definition of a "low tier" in this game. What makes a top tier is diversity. Take a top tier charactar like Vergil for instance: as a point character, has ridiculous range easy confirms/mixups and TOD combos. As an anchor charactar, one-of-if-not-the-best Lvl3 xfactor characters and with meter and no xfactor can still confirm and kill with what is essentialy an assit super.

Another example is Magneto. Great combos (tron has), Great Zoneing (Tron doesnt), Great assist (tron doesnt), Great Mobility (tron doesnt), Great mixups (tron doesnt), great zoning (tron doesnt), you get the idea.

IMO shes one of the most limited charactars in the cast, at least Hsien and Shuma have A+ assists. If I were a professonal Marvel player, any point Tron would make me think "Perfect, your high heath will let me combo you to get enough meter for snaping in that assist you're using to get in; after which i will laugh as you try to make an xfactor lvl3 comeback with tron"

Just my opinion though im sure some people find her more effective/know something I dont.

IMO/Plus shes hella annoying/IMO

Tron can confirm off of airdash j.H with cr.M > st.H > H Drill

I use it all the time with my Tron/Frank/Dante side team.

@ScrubStep

I gotcha. It makes sense when broken down. I never really thought about it that way, since I don't play the character/know the character, so I just looked at her damage and thought,"Hey she doesn't seem so bad to me. What's the big deal?" Especially after seeing the alpha counter combos she did. Speaking of alpha counter, anyone else feel like that is a very underused yet powerful tool that should be used more often? I mean think about it, if you have a good character on your team with an invincible AC that can be used as a hit confirm into big damage/meter gain/dead character I'd say that is a very valuable asset to have on your team. That Tron video certainly got me to thinking about using that more often.

Yeah... from my experience fighting people, I generally do alright against them the first couple matches (if I am in practice) but once they realize they just have to zone Tron it's pretty easy for them if they stick to the plan. My friend who plays Wesker had trouble against me before playing Wesker normally because some of Tron's normals are really strong. But once he stuck to keepaway with gunshots and hidden missiles Tron didn't stand a chance. He has too much mobility for her to catch him.

I have been considering picking up strider to keep people on the ground since Tron can pick them up from that, or just to be able to get close to them but I haven't messed around with Strider enough yet.

@Sflip, you put down "Ton Bonne"

@Zentsurugi

Some characters can actually utilizes that exact tactic of using invincible Alpha Counters and converting it into big damage if not touch of death. Zero for example can cancel the first hit of an Alpha Counter Ryuenjin with Sougenmu and do a combo long enough (corner to corner) and eventually build another bar into one last Sougenmu for a lightning loop in the corner if the opponent didn't die yet.

Tron is like Haggar in the sense that once they get in, massive damage follows. The main point of this statement being ONCE they get in... I've lost many matches with Haggar not even landing a hit. I've also won matches just b/c Haggar landed ONE hit (same goes for Tron).

She gets zoned too easy (without an awesome assist) to be super-viable. Tron with Doom Missiles or Magneto Blast or even Rapid Slash or Plasma Beam is a different story. She HAS to have a good assist though.

Characters with epic point potential who require epic assists:
Tron
Haggar
Thor
Hulk (gamma charge alleviates a little of this stress)
Akuma (IF you play him on point)
Shuma
Iron Fist

Really fun to see Tron combo's im learning her myself, she is really an underdog character to save the least and the fact that she is pretty low tier & #9 clearly stated the problems with Tron she is limited but with the right assist and patience i think she can be a real problem.

But then again why work hard when you can just have Strange,
Dorm,Hawkeye.
