Video X Games announces Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition v2012 and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 guaranteed prize of $13,600 Announced over on the Video X Games Facebook page, both Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition v2012 will have a guaranteed prize of $13,600.

It was also announced that the tournament would also be featuring King of Fighters 13 as an official game this year and that it not being at the event last year was a mistake.

Below is the full released from from their Facebook, which features more information on other games like Persona 4 Arena, Street Fighter X Tekken, Dead or Alive 5 and even Injustice: Gods Among Us.

Well ladies and gentlement the first 5 fighting games for VxG. First the ones you know were coming:
Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition 2012 - Guaranteed Prize $13,600, top 16 payout
Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 - Guaranteed Prize $13,600, top 16 payout
Mortal Kombat 9: Prize TBA
Tekken Tag Tournament 2: Prize TBA

Now the other 2 games to make the cut right now:
King of Fighter 13 - We respect the fact that it turned out to be the most voted game in the poll. It was probably a mistake not to have the game at VxG 2012, but mistake has been corrected and it will be at VxG 2013!

Smash Brawl - It's back, the smash game of 2012 will be back for VxG 2013! Melee still has some chance of making it in, PlayStation all stars still has time to grow.

So what's next? WE WILL RESERVE TO MORE SPOTS TO BE ANNOUNCED NEXT YEAR. This is where the communities of other games not listed here, such as SFxT, Dead or Alive 5, Persona IV Arena, Smash Melee and PlayStation All Stars all have to show which game they want to see at VxG. Developers also have a small part to play. I must commend Team Ninja in this regard for being the first to show interest in having their game at VxG, and that gives some major point to seeing DOA at VxG 2013. But community is still the number 1 factor.

Also note that Injustice is going to be put in a wild card of it's own. We will only announce the game pending an official release date. Currently no official release date has been given so JUST in case the game comes out too late, we won't decide on its inclusion until the game is released.

Prizes will be announced later in 2013, but we wont let Marvel and SFIV outshine the other games too much in terms of prizes, we will do our best to keep it close in that range.

Hey guys, it's your boy Rolando! Glad you guys like the lineup so far. I hope the other communities go out in numbers to all tournaments so we can make a good choice on what other games to include.

Sorry about the site, we just are busy coming out with a new site for the new year but it is just a couple days late. Look forward to seeing you guys there.

Oh and Infiltration will need a VISA to travel here. He'll have to start very early on that, and so far we haven't heard of any requests. Personally doubt he is coming to VXG, but we'll see.

Americans, get your passports early too! You don't need VISA or anything, but you will need your passport. Oh and make sure check out the trailer to find out how you can win a free trip to VxG! Winner will be announced at Winter Brawl, one of our qualifiers.

@ THE BOY Rolando,

considering the increase in payout and consequent increase in competition level, if the stream/commentators are as fun as last year this will be the event to look for in 2013.

Last year the event was so uniquely fun that I would love to see it rise to the top.
Keep up the good work and let us taste some caribean all the way to europe :D

@18. I feel you on that, i also think he is the best in the world. But beware, the last person that went to VxG counting his money before he came got a hell of a caribbean spanking and didnt end up winning. The caribbean is NOT free :)
