If there were no X-Factor I would enjoy MVC3 a bit more. It's still pretty hype though to me. Just not as much as with MVC2. The comebacks are so hype when they happen in this game.
@romento
nobody cares you won in a mid tier set against VDOs not best team. You are clearly just a trash player. And you cannot deny this. Have you placed high at Evo or any other major in the past? Nope. Have you won any huge MMs? Nope. Its fine you still play this game but to make it to the front page of eventhubs. Wasting everyone's time with subpar play. If you were a top player or brought something new to the table then thats fine but you aren't. No offense to VDO but he isn't a top player either but he's fun to watch since he plays a low tier team and does fairly well.

Brett may be kind of arrogant, but trash at MVC2 he isn't. You're just talking crazy.
As for the subject of MVC2 itself, it has its fun moments, but the game is just way too lopsided to be enjoyable. Not to mention that the matches seem to kind of drag on.
Broken as this game is. It's much more balanced than UMvC 3.
I really love that Charlie player, those Moonsault kicks.
Wow didn't know you had to place top 8 in evo to enjoy playing fighters/making fg content for fun.
#10
So a game where about 12 characters out of 56 are viable is more balanced than a game where at least 30 out of 50 are viable?
Lie down before you hurt yourself.
#11
That's what happens when people don't have a scene.
You see, the games that have actual scenes (UMVC3, SSF4, TTT2, SFxT, etc.) don't have time to sit around and constantly bash a game. They're too busy, you know, actually playing other people, and helping new players get into the scene.
People like Romneto and VDO are jealous because A) They suck at the game, and B) Nobody plays MVC2 anymore, so they have to make cute comments about the game to hide the fact that they have nobody else to play but their circle of ~30 people, and that they got bopped at Marvel 3 and got their pride hurt.
@15 VDO is not a top player, unless you say he's a top player out of people who use low tier teams. He never placed high in any major tournament. He beat Potter at Evo and that's his shining moment. Back in the day any top player would play VDO in a long set. Free money.
#22
You saying people didn't place high at Evo and are not top players. Who are you to be criticising me and VDO? You end up looking like another anonymous hater.
Stormblazer? Nobody has ever heard of you. VDO and I are both known and respected for several reasons. Post the nickname you went by when MvC2 tournaments were significant. Otherwise you prove that you are hiding behind a fake name just to hate.
What did you place at Evo? Which top players did you beat in money matches?
#7
You continue to hate on me for no good reason. I never claimed to be a top player. Never said I was a top placer at Evo. I enjoy playing and discovering innovative combos in MvC2. Where are your Evo results? Match videos? Combo videos? Stop hiding behind your name on here (stormblazer) and admit who you were when MvC2 was popular. It is so easy to denounce someone on the internet. Especially since you do not put in the time and energy into making your own videos.
I've been watching all MvC2 videos since 2000. I am very knowledgeable about videos that have been created for the game. Very few, if any, High Evo Placers/Top Players have made MvC2 videos over the years. Three of the most prolific and generous MvC2 video contributors over the years are: Preppy (Zach D), DJ B-13, and me. None of us are top players. None of us ever placed high at Evo. That's irrelevant though. The point is, a player doesn't need to be an Evo beast nor a top player to make videos and share them with people who enjoy it.
You say that nobody cares about this matchup vs VDO, yet this video has been featured prominently on two of the most important fighting game websites, and has nearly 10,000 views. That is exceptional for a game that is 13 years old. What have you contributed to the MvC2 community besides hate, negativity, and bitterness?
I'm more mad at event hubs posting garbage rather than that you keep playing at a scrub level. If something is posted about a dinosaur game, it should be exciting and new. Not 5 hit air combos or dropped combos. There's not even high level mid tier play. No guard breaks or damaging combos. No trickery. Only thing going for the 1st set is VDO does have good stuff with a weird team, only reason to watch. Not this double wolvie crap or thanos garbage.
EH will post anything like the My Little Pony game that everyone is furious about. This site is going downhill.
You do claim to be good, you were like I did much better in the 2nd set blah blah blah, look I won. If you didn't care at all, you wouldn't be posting about the score.
People watched this video because it was on the FP of websites and people are too new to the FGC to know any better what good or bad gameplay is. This is bad gameplay.
#26
You avoided just about all of my questions. Either your reading comprehension ability is lacking, or you are afraid to admit who you are and what you have accomplished.
Who were you when MvC2 was popular? What nickname did you go by?
What did you contribute to the MvC2 community? What makes you an expert on high level gameplay? Your previous posts prove nothing except for the fact that you are blindly hating on me. People who actually do understand the complexities and intricacies of MvC2 thoroughly enjoyed this FT10 and all of the combos I create. In this battle vs VDO there are lots of high damage combos, effective resets, fast crossups, and innovation.
Your criticisms of my gameplay are shallow and show how desperate you are to denounce me.
Where are your videos of your MvC2 skills? It is all too easy to hate on someone elses videos when you hide behind the anonymity of a name that has never been known in the MvC2 community (stormblazer) and you don't make any MvC2 videos of your own.
I said I did better in the second FT10 than I did in the first one. That is a fact. I never said I am a top player. I know I'm not a top player. Furthermore, anyone who knows about the history of MvC2 knows that few top players EVER made MvC2 videos on their own. Preppy (Zach D), DJ B13, and me are the most prolific MvC2 video creators. None of us are top players. None of us placed highly at Evo. That doesn't matter though because anyone can make videos.
I ask you again - who are you? If you avoid my questions again, then you blatantly are admitting that you are afraid to say who you are.

A motivational speaker once told me that if somebody hates you, they actually see something that they admire in you that they're pissed that they don't have.
Reading your first sentence made that -blantantly- clear. You're vexed at Eventhubs putting up videos like this? Sounds to me like you're more pissed they're not putting up any of yours. By the way, let me go on record by saying you DON'T speak for all of us. It's not 'WE' whose time has been wasted, it's just -YOURS-.
First of all, Mr. Stormblazer, who exactly are you? Are you a champion yourself? How many EVO Championships do you have tucked under your belt? That seems to be your personal criteria for having a valid opinion, so I'm calling you out on it just like you did Romneto.
By the way, I wasn't aware that Romneto has to personally appease you, either. He submitted this match in the interest of showing that there are players who still care and play about this game. Oh, I'm terribly sorry it isn't the usual MSP/Team Scrub that you and your ilk are used to, but have a peek at Rom's Youtube channel, I'm sure you'll get your fix.
If you don't like Romneto's vids, that's fine, and it's up to you. Your opinion. But to come on the man's scene and start to bray like the all mighty Buddha of Butthurt?
No.
NO.
Better than that. You want to prove something, you challenge Romneto on his turf, take your cutass or give him a whooping, or do like Vince McMahon did back at the end of the Attitude Era, and get. The F. OUT.
RyRod was here, Ash was a loser.
@26 Stormblazer: Playing mid-tiers is harder in mvc2, when you play top tiers you need only to know a couple infinite combos and it's posible to finish an entire team just with one touch... So if you don't like this vid just go away!! There is no reason to throw hate, you are not more than a lame troll.
@26 I was going to call you out on your ignorance, But RyRodrigo did it first, and more eloquantly than I could have ever done it. @Noizy Child Just because a game is no longer played in tourneys does not mean that it lacks an actual scene. As one who plays both MvC2 and UMvC3 I can say without a shadow of a doubt that the former is a lot more fun. I can also say that I see more people playing MvC2 online, than UMvC3. And while 3/5 of the cast may be "viable", unless someone is playing an FPS team (different from zoning, as zoning implies that if they get in you can still do damage when they do so, where FPS only runs and shoots as if playing CoD, I have yet to see a team that didn't include Dante, Vergil, Logan, or Wesker online.
Stormblazer's just some 09er scrublet by the sounds of it. I hate to break it to him, but not everyone plays trash garbage games like UMvC 3. Some of us like to play games that require execution and timing and don't give a damn about tournament play. VDO and Romneto are by far two of the best players left on the MvC 2 scene. VDO's wrong about UMvC 3 though, because it's not MUGEN it's Super Smash Brothers.
And you realize that the way you phrased things you're calling out a lot of players as 'garbage'. Other than money matches Clockw0rk's never won a major. He's not garbage. A lot of people that are considered great players have never won a major. A lot of other great players couldn't ever get to a tourney to compete. It doesn't make them any less skilled at the game in question.
What games do you play Stormblazer? Or are you just someone that randomly whines about fighters? Hell, even I'm somewhat known and I'm only an intermediate player that makes mediocre colors. No one's ever even heard of you.
The fact is that Romneto doesn't make videos for you. He makes them for us. The MvC 2 community. And we're real sorry that our game's still more hype than the dreck that you're playing. We're also sorry that our community still gets more love than yours. Maybe you should invest your time in games that aren't awful.
~Stormblazer is a typical person that lived in the shadows and always wished that he was "known", but instead of going and trying to be innovative, think outside the box, or let anyone know of his capabilities, he decides to hate on those that do such things. With no effort towards the community, he is nothing but a typical hater that can't accept the fact that people get praise and recognition for the things that he wishes that he can do, but cannot actually do himself. If you think you are good enough to judge anyone, why don't you show us something??
#30
MVC2 is done. Period. The community for it is nowhere near as big as you and Brett would like for it to be. Yes, there are people playing, but the scene is almost nonexistent. Why else would Brett and VDO have time to bash the sequel? Because they have nobody to play but the same 20 people.
#31
If MVC2 was more hype than UMVC3, then people would still be playing it instead of the sequel. If it got more love, then you'd have a lot more people still playing it.
I swear, you MVC2 fanboys act like a bunch of bitter ex-girlfriends. I see you guys spend more time hating on UMVC3 than you do actually playing the game you like.
#33
I don't hate on umvc3 anymore. You are completely wrong. I don't devote any of my time to hating on the game.
The MvC2 community is a lot more alive than you think. I play vs a lot more than 20 people. VDO doesn't spend much time hating on umvc3. He spends a LOT more time playing MvC2. You have a habit of taking your opinions and masquerading them into facts in an attempt to prove your point.
It's a misconception that MvC2 players spend more time hating umvc3 than they spend playing MvC2. You have no evidence that your assumption is true. Since you don't play regularly vs MvC2 players, you can't possibly know how much time they spend playing the game. I know (because I play vs many MvC2 players) that the fact I wrote is true.
@ 33 You are aware that you are doing exactly what you accuse ohers of doing right now, right? And, I have not actually bashed UMvC3 since just after the release of Skullgirls... Regardless of what you may believe, the truth of the matter, is that the MvC2 scene is nowhere as dead as you claim it to be. In fact, the UMvC3 scene is only large because of a huge influx of people that don't normally play fighters, which technically makes them not really part of the scene, as they willmore than likely never actually contribute anything to the game and/or its community.
Brett, cut the crap. You JUST stopped hating on the game. I saw that stupid Wonka meme you posted.
And VDO just stopped as well. He used to post all up and down the SRK MVC2 threads about it. But a least you two have stopped.
#35
So people that joined the scene because of UMVC3 aren't a part of the scene? They can't go on to play other games?
I dare you to sound any more stupid.
#36
The condescending wonka meme I made was uploaded on August 1, 2012. That's not recent at all. You admit that VDO and I don't hate on umvc3 anymore, yet you are still offended by things we said/did in the past. You are acting like a child.
Funny how you don't admit that VDO and I do not spend more time hating on umvc3 than we spend playing MvC2. That was the main point of one of your earlier comments here. Now it has been proven to be baseless and ignorant. As I wrote, people who play MvC2 spend more time playing it than they spend hating on umvc3.
@36 First off, nine times out of ten they won't eve go on to play other fighters, as no othr fighter on earth is as easy to play as UMvC3, and even f they do, they will quit within a week out of frustration. So no, they are not. It isn't that they can't, it is that oods are they won't. People that play fighters because of the ease of a game very rarely move on to a game that requires much higher execution and stricter timing. Unless you are going to tell me that because of UMvC3, you yourself went back and played MvC2, SF3, GGXXAC+, BB:CS, any given Darkstalkers or CotA...
...Out of everyone to come to Stormblazer's rescue it's Noizy? Really? The dude that's only known for being a raging jerk? Go ahead and search your name on youtube Noizy. Then after you do, maybe you'll figure out why you're not credible as a defense to anyone and why you're also not credible as an authority on what is a hype game or even a good game. Man whatever. You're part of the community that made the rest of us look bad. Hang out in the UMvC 3 community and stay out of our's.
