Capcom is teasing two new product announcements at this upcoming PAX East next month on March 22-24.I wouldn't get your hope up folks; we're likely getting non-FG games. Especially now that Ono is involved in a lot more Capcom games overall like we saw at the PS4 reveal.
Still, if we DO get some fighting game news that'd be fantastic but yeah, keep expectations reasonable.
Is it ok to say i got an raging erection because of this post?
I don't see the reasoning in choosing PAX of all places to announce a fighting game, update or otherwise.
To be kinda wild in my guess, CVS2OE and UMvC2013 (Sven defensiveness confirmed it, remember?).
To be realistic though, probably a new non-fighting game IP + ...idk. What I do know is is that there is a 95% chance of a lot of butthurt from whiners ("That's it??? F*ck you, Capcom"), a 4.9% chance of most of us being content with the new games, and a .1% chance of Megaman. Kappa
awww man don't play with my emotions like this...new Final Fight game...PLEASE???????
lol at people still getting hype about Capcom announcements. You never learn.
@Jesse
just because it's not a fighter don't mean it won't be anything we love. I see what you're saying, though.
DS is the more sensible guesstimate just because of it's recent release and affiliation with comic book circles
but i have a feeling it's gonna be another port or rehash of some sort, it's probably Ono X Harada, and 'word coach with Ono-san english edition' on the DS
I'm gonna guess the first one is DS4 with gameplay and demo, I'm actually stumped on the other. Could be non-fighting game related.
@gammabolt
I know, and I'd love me some more Resident Evil stuff, but ALL Capcom announcements last year were lackluster, or just meh. The only remotely remarkable thing that I consider hype material would be the CG animation of a possible completely new Darkstalkers game, which would actually make me explode from excitement if it was finally 100% confirmed.
I hope new means a big possibility of new games, not unreleased with new trailers.
It'll probably be more stuff about "Deep Downs" or whatever and maybe another IP we haven't heard of, either way could be cool.
My money is on them teasing dd again before announcing it at Comic-Con
The games that will be announced at PAX East are going to most likely going to be Dead Rising 3(That game has been rumoured to be in development for quite a long while now), and probably another PS4/Wii U title. I don't think that there will be another fighting game announcement from Capcom at anytime from now. They'll probably gunna wait until E3 for that stuff.
Please be Dead Rising 3 or a Resident Evil Outbreak HD collection. I'll be too busy with Darkstalkers Resurrection to already be thinking about getting another fighting game.
Not to say some of these predictions wouldn't get me hype as hell though.
I think that one of the two games will be Remember Me. I don't know about the other one.
CvS2OE or CvS3 please.
maybe a update for umvc3?
TvC2? (doubt it but I LOVE tvc)
it some other non-fighting game?
One of the game's has to be Darkstalkers 4. The other one is anyone's guess. I'm only saying Darkstalkers 4 because of that CG intro that had Demitri and Lord Raptor, it was too good of quality to just be trolling. Alas, I could be very well wrong in my assumptions.
Mahvel tease before Comicon.
Ryu is shown on the ground, as in the Marvel 3 trailer, and as he reaches out, Ken takes his hand.
Aww...Bro love.
its darkstalkers 4 and another new IP for wii-u non megaman and non marvel. I've been on there ass for too long about marvel to let anything slip by. My guess is that marvel will be announced around evo2013 for a update, but i firmly feel if it doesn't happen by comicon or evo its just not gonna happen.
I do hope he mentions SSF4AE V.2013 and he adds Alex and/or reveals who those 2 hidden still locked characters are and/or any kind of update to Street Fighter 4 with new characters and Alex being one of them but this is my #1 priority
Realistically, Deep Down,Darkstalkers 4, and Dead Rising 3 Either of those 2 could make sense. However,these two games could be for the current gens, and they may wait for E-3 to announce and show off Deep Down- that's more logical to do, even Darkstalkers 4 sounds more logical to be on the next gen systems. Considering it said "new" an update to UMvC3 or even SSF4 AE sounds unlikely unless it said "new updates" however those have a possibility. The possibility is that they want to get those updates out of the way as their last quota for the current gen systems.
What would be a MAJOR surprise is a new Mega Man game or even a new Onimusha game. Don't get hype until you see what it is though lol.
I'd wanna see a revival of some underrated fighting games....like Project Justice....or CvS2...hell, I rather see an entirely new IP than anything else.
An update for SF4 would be nice, but no rebalancing please. Add more costumes, stages and features like online trainingmode and tournament mode, add spectator mode in Endless. Maybe a couple of new characters.
A new megaman game would also be nice. Take the marvel engine and turn it into an epic megaman game. Yessssss!
@iMTopTier: "please no i like to learn everything in the game not get a new game when im getting used to the one i have"
And Capcom makes zero dollars while you sit around "getting used" to things. By the way, Street Fighter IV debuted five years ago. You should be used to it by now.
Yea chances are this wont be fighting game related. My guesses are on Dead rising 3, a new RE game, Onimusha(unlikely), or a new IP altogether. Though hopefully they announce something good but keep in mind this is Capcom we are talking about here, so keep your expectations in check.

I don't see why they wouldn't be announcing something SF related.
Recently every tweet Ono has pumped out has said stuff about Street Fighter. "We'd really like to do something for this series".
And what about the Blanka email during the PS4 tech demo? Really, what else could that mean when you're in the middle of a demo for your 'NextGen' software and BLANKA emails you?!
But yeah, I've had my expectations CRUSHED by these hype announcements too many times. So as much sense as it makes (based on the clues) they'll probably do the opposite.
Because as good as Capcom is at making games, they're equally good at killing their own hype.
But my fingers are crossed big time on this one.
I think something is definitely street fighter related due to ono's tweets and the little teaser at the end of their PS4 game's trailer. I'd also venture to say Darkstalkers because of Ressurection, but it doesn't make any sense to have two brand new fighting games announced at the same time (unless SF is an update). I really have no idea, I just hope it isn't lame.
@72
I think you're reaching a little much, friend. Blanka was in the tech demo because him and Ono are BFF's. Specifically, it was the Blanka toy emailing him about sharing items and gear in Deep Down, which is likely their way of hinting at a feature of the game. Don't raise your hopes up on clues that aren't there. You're only crushing yourself in that regard.
When Capcom says "two new games" are going to be announced I definitely would not consider an patch/update to an already existing game as being a "new" game. And SF5 isn't something that's gonna be happening any time soon still. I recall Sven and Seth (when he still worked for Capcom) saying something along the lines that SF5 was not something on Capcom's immediate radar and that we shouldn't expect it until SF4 begins to die down. This was like a year ago, so unless something suddenly changed I wouldn't to put SF4 on the shelf just yet.
Plus, given the wide international popularity of SF, I'd wager that they would save any sort of announcement about a brand new title for TGS or something like that. PAX East isn't exactly prime territory for announcing stuff like that. Like someone already mentioned, it's probably something like a new Dead Rising, new IP, or something else that would resonate well with a western audience in particular. Gotta cater to the crowd, y'know?
@75
See, this is the kind of blind expectation that will lead to a lot of unnecessarily upset people. Like I said above, the Blanka toy emailing Ono during Deep Down's trailer was specifically related to Deep Down. Look at the contents of what was said in the email.
FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD DO NOT MAKE ANOTHER SF GAME!!! I'm so tired of the series! GIVE IT A REST! Give it a few more years into the new gen for SF5 or Alpha 4. It's Darkstalkers Time to shine! We haven't seen a new title in the series since 1997! let us have this one guys. I know most of you don't want DS because oh it's so boring, but some of us do!
Im thinking maybe darkstalkers 4, or a new capcom vs snk. I really hope its an update to umvsc3...
no such titles as super street fighter 4 turbo its not even a new street fighter game so stop the maddness just wait and see

Read 87's post man. Normally I'd agree with you, but Ono has been hitting twitter harder than I've seen since Super was announced.
And as far as the Blanka email. He said on twitter that (I'm paraphrasing) "We had it hint at the end of trailer". Or somthing to that effect (I'll have to go look for it).
But hint at what? Hint at gear to Deep Down? The tweet he was replying to was in response to a Street Fighter question.
Anyway, anything is possible. Like I said, we've been let down before. So you could be right. But it seems like you are jumping to conclusions just as much as we are.
I'm going to go track down that tweet.
@81 It's still way better than half the most actual FG franchises to be honest. They have a good mythos (not great but come on, few fighting games have it), also well thought mechanics and the combination of all these turns for a game that is highly enjoyable to play. It's not "nostalgia", this franchise has a well-earned place in fighting games' fans because of how good it has been done.
A thought - If a UMvC3 expansion is to be, I'd like Asura from Asura's Wrath to be in. That was a pretty good game, and I can see an expansion happening.
I'm kind of expecting a couple of franchises from yesteryear though - Not SF or Resident Evil, but maybe Darkstalkers. Giving a break to a franchise here and there is a good thing (COUGHMEGAMANCOUGH).
@87
So much? I see like 4 tweets about SF5, and one was him saying he's not going to the PS4 conference to talk about SF. It's Ono, don't take every tweet he puts out seriously.
@88
I'm not jumping to conclusions so much as having reasonable expectations based on Capcom's track record of announcing stuff and the fact that you have to take what Ono tweets about with a grain of salt. I want more fighting game news as much as the next guy, but I don't want to set myself up for disappointment if/when it doesn't happen.
We all know Ono responds to tweets in ambiguous ways, and often times it doesn't lead to anything. Yeah, he responds to tweets about SF5, but he also responds to tweets about CvS3 and Alpha 4 too. Are we going to assume that those are gonna be announced as well just because Ono acknowledged a handful of tweets? I wouldn't. Hell, remember when he mentioned a supposed announcement at an event, and after the event Seth had to clarify on behalf of Capcom because Ono was basically just trolling?
That kind of stuff is why you wanna stay level-headed and not feel crushed if you don't get the news you want.
boogityboy and SnakeX nailed it down.
Capcom will announce two NEW games; any update to games ALREADY RELEASED is, not unlikely, but impossible. Please stop deceiving yourselves thinking this will happen, because if you don't, it will bring up the whiny and unpleasable crybabies to bitch about whatever they may announce, doesn't matter how big or important the news may be for the company itself or the gaming industry in general, because, yeah, shocker: FGs are not the center of the universe, not everything revolves around them, and Capcom is more than just Marvel and Street Fighter.
But in all honesty, Capcom, BoF is one of your most loyal fanbases. Be it Breath of Fire VI, showing some progress about Ace Attorney 5, confirming the localization of Investigations 2, a new God Hand, Strider 3, or a new, commemorative anniversary edition of Area 88: a new UN Squadron. You have a shîtload of games to choose from. Just don't dissapoint.
Hey, a man can dream, right?
if one of them is not a fighter come on Devil May Cry 5 (and if its made by Platinum Games even better)
