When I think of the Playstation brand, my first immediate thought is Zeus. What a guy.

#1 Zeus is from God of War, so yes he is.

That version of Zeus is a Playstation character. It pushes the boat on the aspect that now we have two InFamous characters and two God of War characters there could be two characters of other already represented franchises á la Snake. You know, the guy you all keep clamoring for?
I know you want certain characters over these guys, but for the love of God do you all need to post the same crap?

It makes sense when you think about it.

God of War is the Playstation Flagship Title (everywhere but Japan) so through sheer popularity power alone it was bound to get a second character and Zeus was the antagonist (He and Kratos are both villains technically) so he's the most likely. If an EA character was to be in the game Isaac was the man. Have you seen how much EA has been milking the Dead Space cow?

That said I will buy this JUST for Isaac's level 3 alone. Asteroids rock! *rimshot*

Another GoW character? That's the best they could get? Well, licenses can be problematic to obtain, so I'm sure they went with Zeus due to already have the God of War license.

Dead Space? Ok, look... I have nothing against Isaac Clarke, but Dead Space isn't a PS3-exclusive game. His inclusion is as questionable as Big Daddy.

What...? Resistance, Folklore, Drakkan, Lair, Arc the Lad, Wild Arms, Sorcery, Legend of Legaia, Legends of Dragoon, Everquest, Rogue Galaxy and Ico weren't good enough?

I'll gladly get these characters, especially if they're free for the first 3 weeks like Kat and Emmett, but I just wish that they went with other Sony-exclusive 1st-party IPs instead o getting a returning on and a multiplatform 3rd-party one.

No price announcement means these won't be free the first 2 weeks, but will cost $5.00 a pop.

I'd like to know who on this planet even liked Zeus in GoW to begin with, to warrant him being in this game.

He wasn't even remotely likable in his respective games (neither was Kratos by the end of GoW3, but people tend to like stupid characters even after they've stopped being likable...), let alone to warrant having a large enough fanbase to be in this.

Issac Clarke is a good choice, but Zeus could have easily been someone else that would be better.

Like.... I'd honestly like it if they had Lightning, Altair/Ezio, or even someone from Platinum Games (Sam from Vanquish, for example).

Issac I don't mind I actually saw him coming. Zeus however.... I don't mind...but why? Issac is an EA character like Lara Croft so maybe this a good sign that after the new Tomb Raider comes out that we may get to see Lara. Remember that Crash and Spyro are both owned by Activision who are honestly giant b!tches to work with in terms of licensing so that's why I don't expect to see them anytime soon. Some Final Fantasy characters would be nice like oh I don't know CLOUD!!!! Hell I will even take Lightning if it means getting more ladies in the game.

The main issue is, too many multi-platform characters. Had they picked more PS exclusive characters, or at least characters who originated from a PS game, it would've made more sense.

Where the hell are the Final Fantasy characters? Where's Snake? Where's Dante (not Donte)? Where's Wander and Ico? While these characters are cool I don't really see them as "All-star" quality.

I really think that the biggest factor for the choice of fighting game characters is marketing. Zeus since Acension is coming out soon, and EA has been milking the Dead Space franchise. Just look at the Marvel cast and you'll see the same things. Random characters (that I've never heard of before UMvC) like Nova and Iron Fist came up in the new Spiderman cartoon series. And you can also see the focus on Avengers due to the movies.

That being said, I really like the choice of Zeus and Isaac. Zeus makes sense as it is a staple and they needed more God of War reps. And since when did people complain about third party support? The more the merrier imo. I understand that people want some older characters that makes you the Playstation (Crash, Spyro, ect.) but all those characters aren't in Sony's hand and need cooperation from third parties.

I'm sorry PSASBR. I like you, but I must ask: Really? You have yet to put in any character from your vast JRPG line up, the ones you own actually. Plus, You have Nippon Ichi, a huge support of you, celebrating their 20th and disgaea's 10th aniversery, and you don't put in a Disgaea character?

Who do you put in? Zeus and Issac. Zeus... just no. We don't need more characters from the same franchise when you have more franchises to pick from. Issac is a 3rd party character, honestly put in because EA wanted him in. Whatever, fine.

Zeus should have been Etna or Laharl from Disgaea, or pick someone from your Japanese brands. You have so many to pick from sony, so why the hell did you pick Zeus?!

The original reason I (and a A LOT of people) bought a ps3: Resistance!
No Nathan Hale or Chimera or even Capelli(or what ever his name was from the crappy 3rd game).
The line up in this game just make no sense.

Issac is a great choice! Now they have the survival horror genre covered. Next we need someone to represent RPG's *cough*Dart & Cloud*cough*. Zues is a total WTF character. If you going to put a mythological character in always pick Odin...or Magickarp. ^_^

Kat made sense because Gravity Rush is currently the 2nd or 3rd best-selling Vita game (which isn't saying much considering the short lifespan of the console but w/e).
Emmett made sense (somehow) because Starhawk is a franchise in development, and currently trying to find its niche. Whether it's a good one or not only time will tell, but at least it's there (besides the studio behind it is Sony Santa Monica, the all-star studio that always gets the bitches).

Now, on to this characters:
Zeus... it's to hype up God of War Ascension, I suppose? (also: Sony Santa Monica. And remember, this studio is taking care of the game from now on).
Isaac is there because... I have no fûcking idea, to be honest. Maybe Dead Space 3 is one of the best-selling titles of the last 3 or 4 months for the PS3. Maybe EA just threw a lot of money their way. And EA might be a worthless company run by completely moronic and simple-minded cavemen with some understanding of how 1's and 0's work (in some kind of way). But hey, they have the money. When they write or speak, they do it in green letters and you know that's never a bad thing when it comes to this industry.

I don't know. I'm also a believer of that "the more characters the better" mantra, but I'm certainly NOT hyped to get this characters like I was for Kat and Emmett. Of course I let the enormous title contradiction slip, but come on, no company tries for their game titles to have 100% sense, so this doesn't surprise me.

I really like Issac being in the game though. It gives me hope for a Silent hill character like Pyramid Head. Not much hope, but a golden shiny wire of hope. :P

People are complaining about Isaac being on multi-platforms. Isn't Big Daddy (Bioshock) on Xbox 360 as well as PS3? Not so much the PS brand as much as it is how popular the characters are. Isaac is a very popular character. Zeus on the other hand isn't even playable in God of War. How is he an All-Star?

Hopefully, they're free for a limited time like Kat and Emmett.

I loved Unfinished Swan, but the new stage is kinda meh.

I hope they're free because I want to get them. If My PS3 didn't kick the bucket, I would be doing playthroughs of them.

I don't really understand Isaac Clarke in PSA because Dead Space series isn't exclusive title to the PS3 and the last I heard the Dead Space series sold more copies on the 360.

I don't understand the complains here, Isaac being a 3rd party character is cool, DS had some deals on the PS3, free weapons packs, free DS Extraction included on DS2, actually, the PS3 was the only console to have all Dead Space games: 1,2,3 Extraction(wii port)and the comic thing.

Zeus, well he's the main villian in GoW, has been in more games than most of the roster.

and for those kicking the dead horse: Crash/Spyro depend on Activision, Lara/FF rep on Crystal dynamics and Squarenix, so far they don't care for this game, want those characters? go to their sites and ask them.

@54: People complain because they're not characters from yesteryear. I mean, as much as I'd love to take control of Alucard or Razputin (Psychonauts anyone?), I think that ship sailed once Santa Monica took over.

Everyone asking for Lightning makes me want to find a house on Mars. That is a HORRIBLE idea; FF13/2 ruined FF! If any FF characters should make an appearance it should be either Cloud, Sephiroth (<-- makes the most sense)or Squall. As for the two new guys, I welcome them. No hate, no love; I'll judge once I get to try them, but I agree with everyone saying Zeus is a 100% surprise and (IMO) 99% undeserving, but at least he showcases some unique stuff, although Issac does as well.

If Superbot/Sony were smart, these characters will be free for the first week or something, but after seeing the PS4 conference, I guess we'll be ponying up some cash just to turn our PS3s on within the next month.

I like this game. I really do. I just find their choices questionable.

That being said, after watching the video I REALLY liked how Zeus played. They really put a lot of effort into him, so I think he will be a good addition for his playstyle... but I still would have rather have a Disgaea character.

I know FF, Spyro, Crash, Abe, and Lara are all not happening. I am not asking for them. I am Asking for a Disgaea character, or a Neptunia character, or a character from the many exclusive JRPG's Sony has. Where is the reps for that?!

Well at least Zeus making it in rings the possibility that we can have more than one playable character per franchise not counting the Coles, so in which case Snake once again has a chance.

Like not a fan of GoW, Killzone, Bioshock etc. I will say one thing an RPG character will happen, but were going to have to wait longer or who knows what day will happen. It'll be one of thoes surprises, like Heihachi & Toro (to me) and thoes recent characters were looking at right now, who knows will not only see a Disgaea but maybe a character from Persona and a Final Fantasy character is not out the count yet all it takes is square enix yes.

@52 The Super Kill is not a bug, its a gameplay element. The Super Kill is fine the way it is, this feature in Playstation Allstars is pure defense and strategy even involves keeping your eye on your opponent.

@12 When comes to Abe, things between the PSAS group & the Oddworlds team wasn't working out too well. Heck theres no limit when comes to characters. Maybe if Playstation Allstars get a sequel, maybe Abe might get his chances who knows.

@70 When comes to Snake, Kojima doesn't like the idea for Snake & Raiden fighting each other Kojima looks at Snake & Raiden as teammates. Plus the relations with Kojima was hurt because Raiden got leaked, even if it was Big Boss.

The only way i'll accept Zeus is if he has a "Jesus" alterative costume. The idea of a 40 foot Jesus smiting his foes is too awesome not to have in the game. Peace be with you, now eat the cookie! ;P

I for one love the addition of Zeus, he should have been in the game since day 1. I don't get why people are whining about his inclusion. He's the main villain of a mash hit PS title. So we have the anti-hero Kratos and the villain Zeus. Also Zeus looks freakin' awesome.

This trend should have been apparent since the beginning, we should have been getting more than 1 character from each IP/franchise. We got Raiden, we should get one of the bosses from MGR, Mistral, Monsoon or the endboss(not Jetstream Sam). We could even get Wolf.

MvC features a lot of characters from one franchise, why can't it be the same with PSABR.

I agree with what you're saying, but they clearly were avoiding more than one character per franchise. To me, Zeus' inclusion is sort of bullcrap considering titles like resistance haven't gotten a character. If every other franchise were doubling down on characters, i wouldn't care, but since none of them are and Resistance is being HEAVILY used in the game, my jimmies are being rustled.

Also, I want Prophet from Crysis and Handsome Jack. I'll never get them, but I can dream.
