I don't know if I agree with Chris and X-23 above Taskmaster. I think all three characters have potential, but I also thiink that Taskmaster is a little better than those two.

Just because they know a lot about the game it doesn't make the list more valid. A lot of them judge characters as low tier because they just don't know how to use them properly and it has happened many times that characters have popped to the top of tier lists just because someone finally figured them out. The best example of this is when Gamerbee came out of nowhere with Adon in SSF4 while so many people, like Justin Wong, were saying that he was probably the worst character in the game.

People are still discovering a lot of things in the game. Give it a while and the list will probably change completely.

@13 You are making it seem like this is an end all be all tier list. It think it's only supposed to be how they currently feel about the characters. I don't think it's saying that no current low character can ever move up.

It's definitely not a final list, but every time someone makes a tier list, people act like it's the Bible for the game and just completely ignore the bottom characters until someone comes out of nowhere and makes one of them work.

Ghost Rider can be ignored.

X23 can be good with the right team, but her normals are just average . She's got some dirty setups though

The list is supposed to represent characters played at the highest level currently possible. I don't think FChamp plays much people who couldn't be considered some of the best and know more about their characters than most of us do

That's why I think his list is gonna be fairly accurate... of course then you could make an argument that he really only plays against people who use Zero/Doom/Vergil type teams so he thinks the others are jokes

It's pretty much based on current tournament results, and less on a characters theoretical abilities.

Nowaday, when you watch the "high-profile" players, you see this composition 90% of the time: Point Char, TAC Dr. Doom and Anchor Vergil. That's why they ranked Wesker and Akuma that low, playin and simple (compare those two with lvl 3 xf Vergil is like comparing me to Chris G lol)!

F-Champ is the worst at making a tier list. Until he uses a variety of characters like Chris G, Yipes,combofiend, RayRay,etc. then I will take his list serious. Just the fact that he has Akuma and Wesker so low makes me think he is trolling hard. Those 2 characters in X-Factor can destroy a team in less than 10 seconds.

I don't think the bottom characters are composed in any order what so ever, except ghost rider. I think he was intentionally put there lol.

Ugh. To say his tier list is completely inaccurate because 1 or 2 characters may have potential is stupid. That still leaves more than 90% of his list being accurate.
And yes, most of your judgements are incorrect because he is a top player and you are not. Unless you are the person bringing the low-tier character to the top, you can safely assume that you know nothing compared to him.

The reason I even look at a tier list like this and take it into consideration is because this is Fchamp's job. @25 You're right he doesn't use a ton of characters, but he more than likely knows all there is to know currently about them.

Somewhere in between the 20th and 21st time he loses a match because someone played mildly campy against dark phoenix, I think everyone realized she's not as top-tier as champ wants to believe.

Shuma, Sentinel, Wesker, Cap,and Jill are better than RR. Idk why people try to say RR is good when he isn't.

It doesn't matter what build it was. He trashed the character, people believed it and he stuck to his word until he saw what the character could actually do. By now, pros should know better than sticking to early impressions. If anything, it's a decent strategy to surprise everyone by becoming good with a character no one uses while the game is still early in it's life. Maybe in a few more years lists will become more relevant.

Spencer and Morrigan need to swap for sure. Spencer has absurd damage, the best combo extending assist in the game, and is a godlike anchor. Morrigan is amazing too.... with missiles. Fchamp is just salty.

Shift Akuma and Wesker about 3-4 squares higher and I think it's at least pretty close. There are some other arguable placements but it's not 'that' far off, like Dr.Strange (bit more to the right) or Jill (same).

This type of tier list is more complex than just SABCD as a character can be high tier with faults or low tier but be solid, so it is tricky to make. The graph should be larger though, because the characters at the bottom are all cramped up. Maybe have varying sizes?

Never take what they say at face value cause it's wrong most of the time. Besides, Cali is always behind or clueless in terms of tech and strategy. Guess it's a time zone thing....

I know F.Champ won EVO for Marvel last year but... Wesker and Akuma slightly above Hsienko and Phoenix Wright? Unless Champ is doing this just to troll people, I see no reason why he would put that. Either that or drugs...like some people mentioned already.

Anything/Doom/Vergil is the best team right now. Just judge characters based on how well they work with or against this team.

Morrigan so high? Shouldn't be based off her reliance on other characters. Without doom she's trash... Of course that says something for doom, he can do anything with anyone and by himself (I know his neutral game is bad, but still one hit and you're in the easiest combo in the game, and you're dead from it), same goes for vergil... I like him, but he's just too damn good, anywhere with anyone. He's like a staple.

as much as i love Hsien-Ko i have to say that Wesker is nowhere near her tier rank.....Wesker vs Hsien-Ko is a 70-30 because she is too slow but can keep Wesker out if you know how to do it

To me I feel if your playing this game for fun and maybe enter a tourney or 2 then this list doesnt matter since you will pick who you like an wouldnt care what place you get, now if you want to be a top marvel player then if your not picking at LEAST high tier and up then you prob should go play sf or something idk thats just how I feel,in marvel always go for the cheapest thing that fits your style

I hate to be blunt but I most definately trust FChamp' word over everyone who posted before me. FChamp is an EVO 2012 Champion and high level player who wins with a team consisting of top tier characters. His word has around 200x more weight than any of yours. Until you start winning tournaments, your word is more or less irrelevant. The best players win tournaments mostly due to the fact they have a better understanding of the game including its characters, which is why FChamp's list is probably a much better designed one than most. While you may disagree, he holds more weight than you.

With all the tech Shuma is getting these days? Honestly F. Champ has always been for me an ass and a bad loser. Everytimes he loses theres an excuse and he gets mad. He always plays against people that use a combination of the same characters with different orders, honestly Champ with all the things X-Factor can do and the potential that other characters have, Stop being arrogant and make another list with help.

his list is based on his opinions of how characters are now. Even he said that he thought Vergil would sooner or later probably drop in place in time (although he will always be high in his opinion). The list really isnt bad, and is pretty indicative of current marvel.

Something people must realize though is that Champ just isn't a fabulous theory fighter. He waits for people to prove something, and once they do, he gracefully accepts that it is legit. Pretty much the opposite of Chrisis, who's head is floating in end game shennanigans.

The only thing I would say is that MODOK, Raccoon and Firebrand should probably be higher. I think they are the most likely to go up in tiers by the end game. Also, not sure if strange should be put as much to the left as phoenix and frank. Sure he gets bodied if he doesnt get going and he is decent if he does, but phoenix and frank are the most extreme cases of "have fault" in my opinion

Im serious! He should make another list with PR Balrog. Eduardo uses sometimes in friendly matches very odd teams and pounds with them. (Like the one of Raccoon, Felicia and Wolverine.) <-Which he was using against Champ if I correctly remember and he WON. But then again the excuses fall from the sky... Ohh I heard my name on the background and right there you got me on that 1-hit kill combo. Ughh! Just accept it! I hope PR Balrog takes all his arrogance away this EVO.

This is a tier-list for the future metagame for the #1 spot. Wesker really doesn't have a place there and Akuma has been disappearing.

All of these tiers are wrong marvel 3 is still to early to count any character out. With the right assist and effort any of these characters can become legit. These "pros" just dont want to take the time to perfect a character.

Now that it clarifies that the characters at the bottom aren't in any particular order the graph makes more sense. Kinda defeats the purpose of having them on there at all though, but whatever. Still, the graph needs to be larger. *Kicks back and reads the PJSalt*

Wow the overreactions some people have are hilarious. The list does a decent job of reflecting the current meta. There's a couple of questionable placements, but overall, it's pretty solid.

How can Wesker be top 8 when the top 13 in the list beats Wesker. Having a good OTG assist is useless these days because it doesn't help against Morridoom at all. It also doesn't help that it's hard to get 1-touch kills with Wesker without x-factor.

The metagame is Anything/Doom/Vergil now and Wesker is just not effective against it.

Did you people even read the interview with Champ? He said he didn't even bother ordering the mid to low tier because he thinks they are too irrelevant in true competition to even bother. If anything, you guys should be bickering about how Champ thinks your character is so pointless they don't even to be placed properly on a tier list.

Lots of things off about this list, but its not F Champs fault. The people that do these tier lists need to agree on a criteria. Will it be based on character vs character? Or character + team vs. Character + team? I believe that certain characters get the low tier label because they dont mix well with the over used, scrubby tier assists like missles, vajra, cold star, samurai edge, etc. Believe it or not, some characters don't mix well with these so called top tier assists, therefore more research has to be done to figure out which characters mix better with certain assists.for instance, cap america is better when teamed with iron man than doctor doom, although of course doom is no slouch.

So if we are talking just character vs character, ghost rider is very capable of taking anyone down who doest have an assist handy. But its never a good idea to put ghost on anchor. Whcih brings me to another point. Character's placement in the order is a huge consideration that is necessary to take in. Some characters are exceleent as point while terrible as anchor, and vice versa.

@98 He shouldn't have to, he is a high level tournament player, he should only be speaking high level tournament stuff. The only unfortunate part is that his insight about tiers has no real application to 99% of the people who read and listen to him, including me and a lot of people who go to tournaments.

Chris G was winning everything with Akuma on his team before he replaced him with Vergil. Yes Vergil is better but Akuma can still be very effective in the right hands.
Wesker has fallen off, but he's still a character who can kill off one touch and fights most of the top tier well except Morrigan and Zero, which most characters in the game have problems with too be honest.
