It's all good. Nothing happened with BT, just that Kevin got a better offer from VXG EMP. I'm happy to see players taken care of, just like when Latif left for Razer. I'm just disappointed that Kevin didn't actually tell me he was leaving, and I had to find out a few days before hand from 3rd party sources. :/ A bit of professionalism would have been nice.

Anyone else kind of feel bad for that Rolando guy? He seems like a nice guy, and him giving Dieminion a better deal than BT so that he can go out to more events should be something that's praised. Instead because he has associated himself with the snake that's Triforce everyone now is calling him a scum and someone that stole Dieminion from BT. And all he had to do was to tell Dieminion to leave BT professionally, instead of letting Koogy know from some third person.

Does anyone feel like there should be some kind of contract or at least a verbal agreement to have things like this eliminated? If koogy already knew it wouldnt be a big deal but the fact that it was brand new news makes it look like a publicity stunt for EMP.

@37 i dont think thats really the case, Viscant played alittle AE and he's currently playing SfxT, and Marlinpie was originally a Guilty Gear player prior to his Marvel fame aswell as currently playing a little of Persona,and he won GG at Winterbrawl this past weekend iirc. So i dont think BT is relegated to just Marvel players. Not sure about Yipes and Clockwork, but they all play a good variety of games, even Koogy himself.

i think it was a good move. EMP is getting mad money now since VXG is most likely getting money from the St. Maarten Tourist Bureau. so he can go to almost every major on their dime.

If you think about it, Dieminion hardly went anywhere last year. He couldn't even defend his title at WGC last year. If another sponsor offered to send him around everywhere so he could make every major, it's only best for him as a competitor to join them instead.

It's a shame that he's going to get alot of false hate just for having EMP in front of his name though.

I tought dat the reason why Dieminion left EMP was the drama because of the drama with tougeki 2011 qualifiers.

TriForce is just robbing VXG blind and will burn this bridge in under a year, guaranteed. He's gonna blow all the money they give him. Even if he genuinely thinks he's doing something good here, it will go nowhere.

Think about it: HOW IS ANY MONEY GOING TO BE MADE? VXG hands over money to TriForce, who spends that money on fighting game players. That's it. No merchandise is being sold. No content is being produced (except for that ridiculous 15 minute trailer for VXG which apparently thinks a bunch of broke-ass gamers can afford to fly out to St. Maarten).

this whole thing is a giant black hole. This is the luckiest break TriForce has ever caught in his life, but there's nothing to sustain it (unless Rolando has an endless trust fund to burn)

Triforce doesn't need to sell anything, he just needs to promote VxG or Saint-Marteens whenever there's a camera, at an event or talk show he participates in.

Rolando is hired by St-Marteens to promote tourism there, so he throws an FGC event to get viewers to tune in, see what St-Marteens has to offer and consider it next time they plan to travel.

Rolando needs contacts in the US, so he chose Triforce, a guy who knows how to promote. That's it. Rolando is not a clueless person, he knows what's he's doing. Like him or not, Triforce has received a lot of worldwide coverage due to his weird name and being the first guy in line to buy nintendo stuff.

I can agree that people don't have the money to just fly down there. Also I can see what your saying about the money as I don't know where the money is coming from or going. The players are going to get the best out of this deal right now.

Hopefully we see Triforce actually make this work as this will be huge for the FGC.

Well then i think Rolando picked the wrong demographic. Most people in the FGC can't even afford alternate costumes, let alone a trip to St. Maartens.

Did you see last year's VXG event? The only American players competing there were Sanford and Perfect Legend (because they came down with TriForce). Sanford won UMVC3. Then Combofiend and Gootecks (who came because of Col. CC) made a video with a dog or something, and that was about it.

Well, between paying a TON of $$$ to go to Evo during july 4th week-end like last year, or going to a more affordable place like St-Marteens that also has casinos plus is a fun resort place with beaches and all that. They are just trying to bring exposure to their area.

FGC people also buy plane tickets to compete in a lot of places, and FGC has proven that they are willing to spend a lot of money on donation drives for breast or DLC fundraising. so FGC is a demographic with a lot of money to spend ( $400k spent in 6 weeks!!)

So VxG is kind of saying: if you're gonna buy a plane ticket to travel and compete, why not come to st-marteens? We have a tourney with lots of top players and also a lot of nice extras, you'll have fun. and if u enjoy yourself obviously youre gonna tell your friends and show them pictures, etc

VxG also sponsored SoCal Regionals too. I don't know why some people (not anyone here) are saying that VxG will be an East Coast major, not true, its a tourney for everyone. I think winners of SCR for sf4 and marvel received plane tickets to st-marteens, maybe winners of WNF season too.

Is VxG still sponsoring Cross Counter Live too? If so, man they have money.
