Nice, I just hope they never try this mechanic in another game ever again!

Everyday another exploitable glitch in SFxT is discovered... when can we just tell it to go away?

My assessment of the presets:

Meter build preset: A tier
the rest: utter garbage

Dear Capcom,

Gems are stupid and clearly not a core game mechanic. Please stop with ever mentioning them again - you're embarrassing yourself.

Sincerely,

Everyone

@5
It'd be too much hassle for tournament organizers to get every console running SFxT to have all the DLC gems on them. Hell, the official Capcom 25th anniversary tournament finals didn't even have them available.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Gems were a good idea, just poorly executed.

Having too many gems is ridiculous in going through. You can win by either having gems or using no gems at all. Buying them isn't my requirement, but for others that needs them for powerups and such is fine by me, but doesn't seem to change much either way on who will win.

exploitable glitches in other games = HYPE!
exploitable glitches in SFxT = man, @#$! this game!

...seems legit.

The gem pre sets are find for tournaments, choose between the available first 5 it's not that big of a deal and they all serve a purpose weird there is no Speed preset option though. Also #6 if I remember correctly Sethlolol was definitely using gems as was Infiltration.

I kind of want to make a timelapse video showing how long it takes to set all of these gems without deleting your save file for a tournament.

I recreated the presets for a handful of characters.
Once you finish one, all the gems you've just used will be in the Log section, making the rest of them much easier to do.

Tournaments should allow all the FREE gems and give the players 60 seconds max to setup their gems. If you don't know the number of your gems or just don't care then you can use one of the 5 presets. Problem solved.

@ #8. Too true. People love infinite and broken mechanics, but SFxTK has 0-frame links that require execution. Yeah, this game is broken :D

Yeah, it's a little easier when you get the gems in the log section. It just becomes a series of X/A x2, down, X/A x2, down, X/A x2, R1/RB...repeat ad infinitum.

I did this for every character. Biggest waste of time ever. But at least all my characters have the Attack, Defense, CrossGauge (like it was originally called lol), Pandora, and I replaced Balance preset with a No Gems preset for those matches where you know...screw gems.

I...just made a second account I use for "tourney play" and cleared its save file. Aside from making different custom costumes for it, really wasn't a big deal. /shrug

@Darkphyre - "exploitable glitches in other games = HYPE!

Stop with your truth and stuff! >.<

Anyone know if the names listed of each gem preset the actual name given by the game?

Naah #8 dat sh!t aint too legit

SfxT has had WAAAY too many glitches n bugs that made it a little intolerable n for the previous price of the game including dlc, it was askin for too much in exchange for nonsense

@Jaxel: Everyday? I can only remember the blanka block infinite so far... The 1 frame cancel 'glitch' is most probably intended.

So the game had it's problems. Most are fixed now. Nothing left to hate. :)

I'm just giving my personal opinion
gems should not be allowed at tournaments
it makes things more fair
that's just my opinion
and everyone is entitled to their own personal opinions
but that's just me
