Really liking how this is shaping up, save for nagging issues like overall animation and the "Get hit for the KOm, get back up momentarily, flop down" thing.

this game seems SO mortal kombat which necessarily isnt a bad thing and one more thing i dont see flash's speed. It seems like Shazam is around the same speed as the flash. They didnt translate flash's speed very well to the game very well.

When I saw Shazam's super it looked to much like Superman's. Yeah the added twirling/Grappling etc is different but still too similar.

I would have loved to see Shazam to win only because we have seen Flash's stuff since the game was announced. Aside from his phasing to evade projectiles, nothing seems new.

Figured Joker would win because of the popularity contest. All in all I'm not impressed by the big burly type characters. They are too similar. All I've seen based on the UI is Bane's poison adrenaline Aspect and I guess Solomon can do certain amount of chain throws/Grabs etc.

Once you start seeing who charges or taunts first, usually loses. I dont really care who wins or loses, it's awesome that we can finally see gameplay!

Man, Lex has a temp Hyper armor state, that could be useful. I think Joker would beat Luthor in a battle of wits but honestly any villain from Gotham would be smashed by any other villain from any other hero in DC, so stop whining. Hell if you wanna go there HULK and Thor should be Above God Tier in UMvC3 but they aren't.

Also thankfully the Flash won, maybe some people out there understand physics.

Nice to see what the characters can do, but all hype is killed by how they make it all fit together. It's not that hard to stage fights while making it look real in these games. They are the developers playing the game and can't even stage it well.

I also thought it was funny that the Joker threw a pie in Lex's face. Should have protected that body better lol.

Game looks good. I wish environmental cut scenes were class based. Honestly Joker has no business super punching someone through a series of buildings. There should be a different cut scene for guys with average strength. He will be my main though.

The Joker got the last laugh, Lex had little to no chance to 1 up joker. Lex is a genius, but he is a different kind of genius compared to Batman for example. Lex would not be able to comprehend whatever Joker pulls out of his sleeve and once Lex has his PowerSuit disabled he is just a normal human to Jokers mercy

Shazam looks really fun to play in this game. Hopefully the combos are more lenient this time around as I found MK9 combos to be really strict in timing.

ANYWAYS. . . Lex got that PIPE. . er . . STREET SIGN. and that projectile shield. I think joker will probably a reset/mixup heavy character. and i cant wait for the lex trap combos. COME ON PEOPLE.

The only main issue I have with this game is that I love the lore and the characters, and sadly these characters do not translate well to a fighting game. You can't really let flash be as fast as he really is or superman be as strong as he is. You have to limit the characters to fit in the game.

@52 you can never translate anything with powers into a video game well unless its one of those super powered being versus the world type things like [PROTOTYPE] or inFAMOUS.

@47 If you play SF4 and you think MK9 combos have strict timing idk what you're smoking. I can't do combos at all in SFIV because the timing is so strict, but I can do combos with every character in MK9.

Also, I'm disappointed Shazam lost.

Shzam's lightning effect looks terrible. There's no oomph to it and it sounds like sparks rather than crashing lightning.

I had a feeling Joker was gonna be badass... I gotta use him just for his win animation. Don't read comics but it really seems like they nailed the supers with their respective characters. Harley's fake punch to slide just seems so... her. Loving what I'm seeing here.

I think I might enjoy this. Love super hero fighters but didn't like MK vs DC mostly because of the block button well I never cared for MK.

It's going to be tough to find a character I truly will like. Looking forward to Green Lantern gameplay. Like Green Arrow Flash, Shazam, batman. Harley looks fun.

I like that all of the "specials" animation sequences are well timed so as to still look awesome but not go on forever. Can't wait!!

@74 agree with the camera angles changing and pretty much stopping the action dead in it's tracks I hope if the angle changes(aside from stage transitions) make it into the final game there is a option to shut them off.

The cameras are just for the battle arena, they aren't in the game at all.

The camera angles could be in the game if there is a replay function which MK9 didn't have. I think it would be pretty cool to watch replays of matches and the camera shift like that. In game obviously would be horrendous.

I find all the combos in SF4 easier than any game out there. MK combos are Dial a Combo meaning that Combo ABC plus a dash with Combo XYZ is a characters bread and butter.

Moves in MK don't combo into each other as simply as SF4. Usually there is a list of what moves combo and that's it. So to do the combos that take a lot of damage you have to know which ABC combo works with XYZ combo. which is why I find them so strict.

I wasn't really feeling this too much, I mean I wanted to, but for some reason couldn't really. After seeing this though, I can't even front this sh*t is looking hella hype. If it plays, or is capable of playing anything like this April can't come fast enough.

Are some of you really this dense? Of course the camera won't change angles during actual fights. That's just done for artistic effect. You'd have to be stupid to actually think that would happen during matches. We've seen full matches at cons and stuff and the camera didn't change angles in those either. My gawd people.... my gawd.

I love how people constantly complain about OMG THIS GUY COULD NEVER BEAT SO & SO! Seriously people ITS A GAME! Marvel vs Capcom gets away with it but when Harley Quinn beats Superman its a crime against nature! No one wants a game where Batman dies in won hit and Superman is practically invinsible..that would be Stupid. Leave the comic book ranting out of this and appreciate the gameplay, because in fighting games anything Goes!

I think the one thing I don't like about netherrealm games is the fighting game engine has no WOW or HYPE moments. No variations in hit effects or block effects, the characters have no personality while fighting, they barely speak, all they do is grunt and scream.
Compare this with Marvel or street fighter where they have more dialogue while fighting. Wolverine looks and sounds like he's going berserk out there. Fuerte going HAM with his luchador style. Law in sfxt has that bruce lee personality that shines even more than his tekken iteration.

I like that they have the Joker pulling out different weapons like he always does, though I say I'm sad his boxing glove trick in mk vs dc isn't in, but I like his ultra, grab, and win end. that thing Joker did with his crowbar while lex was down is such a homage to what he did to the red hood. lex is okay, I like his dbz budikai ultra. flash is flash and shazam is raiden bison. AND that dragon throw Shazam did is what he always did when he fought superman, And I love it. I wonder what Joker's alt will look like... let it be HIS red hood look.

It's astounding how seriously some people seem to be taking this game. "Joker shouldn't have beat Lex!" Yes logically that would have happened, but that's not the case here. Have these people played fighting games before? The purpose is to create matchups of whoever you want and have fun kicking ass. Not to restrict two characters from going head to head or having certain characters always winning because of logistics.

This is how fighting games are. In Street Fighter, you got joke characters like Dan that can beat someone like Akuma, who's name literally means the devil, because gameplay is different from story. It's like getting mad because Cloud didn't use a Phoenix Down to revive Aerith in FF7. Gameplay =/= story.

I don't remember these kinds of complaints about the Marvel vs Capcom games. And those had even more over the top stuff. Joker being able to beat Lex is no less ridiculous than Hawkeye being able to beat Thor or Dormammu.

Actually...I know I kind of rail on NRS sometimes...but this game's looking kind of hype. Primarily from the stage interaction. Now THAT'S a cool mechanic.
