Yoshinori Ono has once again been replying to various questions and comments on his Twitter account.Jlynx1: An update to AE Ono? :)
Ono: I'm too early to tell. ;D
MaestroTophie: So I heard there's a SF Alpha 4 coming...any word on this?
Ono: Hahaha, it's rumor... maybe... rumor... ;P
Jamesw00t: SF alpha 4? Or even better Capcom vs SNK 3!
Ono: I'll be continue to try for it ;D

@1 Probably unblockables (or hard-to-blockables).
An update does not necessarily mean changing stuff, they can simply add stuff to it like more stages, change title screen, costumes, characters whatevers, why do people always associate update with balance change...
As much as I'd like a CvS3... Can't help but fear how Capcom would handle it.
>CVS3 with 3D models and still no 4 button layout
How about NO
@15
The price depends on the amount of contents added, if you feel it's worth it and love the series why not? It's one of those games that you spend countless hrs in if you cared enough to really dig deep into the characters.
@15 Chances are that it's a balance patch and not an expansion of sorts like adding characters so it shouldn't cost us anything. Besides, unless they are in the process of developing another Street Fighter game, if they want to keep the interest of players, it would be in their interest to balance it. Because honestly, people are moving away from their character loyalty to play top tier because they are so dominant. They were so quick to patch AE because Yun was so dominant, and in its current state, Cammy, Fei Long and Akuma are pretty much going to be the only characters seen if players intend to win.
Damn, that first response was godlike, that broken English and the happy wink at the end, too good. I like how he goes "rumor" -> "maybe" -> "rumor", I had no idea you could do that, it was sick! and instead of going for happy wink again, he mixes it up with wink + tongue sticking out, but then in the third response he goes happy wink again! Ono too stronk.
But seriously, we love you Ono. Hope you can give us another update for AE that gets rid of all the unblockables and maybe give some buffs to the lower tier characters. :)
Seriously? He has an ambiguous answer for everything we want. I honestly wish he was more blunt about things that aren't going to happen as to not make people keep guessing.
Whatever, I'm used to his trolling...:(
CvS3 better not have SF4's character design and graphics seriously, if not crisp 2-D animation at least 2.5-D like MVC at least!
@19, while those characters are dominant, I believe every character can win in SSF4:AE2012. The game is balanced ( Almost to a boring degree in the minds of some players) that a victory with any character is feasible. Just ask Infiltration about his Hakan.
CVS3 could only happen if Capcom got SNK's approval to use their characters.
@23 Infiltration plays Hakan when he's bored or if he doesn't think the other person knows the match up. I can bet that he will not play Hakan at a major in every match and it's rare to even see him play Hakan at all for that matter. He plays Gouken when he's counter-picking, which, in itself, means that the game is not balanced.
@25
No game is balanced, but for what it is, it's one of the most balanced games out there, KOF is good too but the boring similar loops that most characters shares gets boring sometimes. Or you could always play arcsys games. Also you saying people intend to win will pick fei, cammy and akuma is wrong, as seen in all tournaments, the roster is very dynamic when it comes to character picking. It seems to me you get too attached to this tier thing.
One your the man you and Ed Boom are the best I hope you bring CvS 2 to XBL.
What you guys dont know is that these companies are taking advantage of the fighting game genre boom. Which is the reason why Ed Boon hinted at MK vs SF. Dont be at all surprised if you see Alpha 4, Darkstalkers AND CVS3 in the upcoming months/years.
Just imagine CVS3 with King of Fighters XIII sprites. That would be cool.
CvS3 will be a better product if we leave everything up to SNK; not only would the sprites run smoothly and fluidly, but they'll also look marvelous. The gameplay would be phenomenal if KOFXIII is any indication.
Actually, SNK would make SvC2, not CvS2; they'd be able to redeem themselves from the sub par SvCChaos that is infrequently remembered.
We can make it happen much sooner then we think. Tell your friend to tell a their friends to meet up on a social network on a particular day, and bombard Ono twitter account, capcom, $ snk. Money talks & bullisht walk. It'll have to be about a half a million messages to grab their intention up at corporate.
@36 No your gonna keep getting foot dived and your gonna learn to like it.
AE 2012 still needs work and I fully support another update. Plus I want yang to be my main and he deserves some buffs this time. I want at least 1 more version of Street fighter 4 and I dont mind paying for it. If the game stays the way it is now I will drop it.
I'd definitely pay for an update if it meant some Deejay Buffs
I like AE as it is right now. Absolutely no need to change/add anything. But of course if they do make an update I will certainly get it.
BTW - Ono, could you troll harder please?
i'd love to pay for an sf4 update and cvs2 and 3. i think alpha is highly unlikely, but i'd buy it, too. time to save money.
@20
i lol'd
@22: i'm with you, broham! But sadly, i doubt we'll ever see another
2D game from Capcom again. Many say it's because most (if not, ALL) of their
Sprite artists are long gone...I don't think that's the case. I think they could bring
Artists just as good, if not, better than the previous ones. Capcom just feels 2D
Doesn't sell any more.
@61: Wow. I hope you're just a kid who's not old enough to know better. Either way that's a pretty ridiculous comment to make. I'm sure he'd like to say way more than he does about the current projects he's aware of, but who can blame him for keeping cryptic when you've just demonstrated the maturity of the franchise's fan base.
Wow
@56 Actually, James, I'd like to see both play styles available; a choice to choose between the KOF and Street Fighter game play, sort of like an update of CvS2's groove system.
The only thing being that I'd actually like a choice that isn't limited to the groove system as playing CvS2 like a KOF game wasn't possible (no matter which groove, it still felt like street fighter; which isn't bad but I'd like to alternate). Not that either game is too dissimilar, but KOFXIII and SSFIV obviously feel and play differently.

Ono> 3 words for SSF4AE Version 2013 please do it but like Aluppoj said good money for a full complete version of AE it would be awesome for SFA4 and CvsS3
I also forgot to add if Ono did an update to SF X Tekken Version 2013, I can't see whay he can't do an update to SSF4AE Version 2013
A light rebalance will give the game TONS more life.
What I'd really like to see is more online settings, features and stats. I think the netcode could be redone to monitor network stability and provide a rating based on that. This would reveal the lag switchers. If you have sudden massive spikes in your connection then you'd get a downgraded score similar to how it gives you a disconnect percentage. If you go into a lobby with 4 green bars and thay have an F net stability rating then you'd know to gtfo. Also I'd like to be able to assign an icon or something to a player after I've encountered them to remind myself about various things like lag, rage quitting etc so I would know which players to stay away from since it's hard to remember who's who sometimes. Also more characters would be nice ;-)
Actually both CVS arent bad games, but those groves makes those games not well balanced for PVSP. I hope if they are really thinking on making a sequel, please, just one groove, and one fighting style.
#69 because it is in their interest to smoothly shift our attention to the more recent games which we can still buy. SSF4 is an old game that will gather few new buyers from these rebalances. It keeps the game alive for existing clients but we are not their problem anymore. They are a business, they want new customers, or old customers buying new products. Which is why they invest on getting us to buy/like Tekken instead of changing SSF4 and keeping us distracted with an old game that gives them no more revenue.
The fact that Ono is saying that pretty much indicates that they are already working on CVS3 in secret. If you look at the KOF scene...its pretty much abandoned due to the popularity of the other games. I think the only way for them to get more people back is to collab with sf again but this time.....make it fair. I know how good Chaos could have been. The thing is I believe that they might do an Alpha but that means that they will have to start killing off some people to make way for the crappy 3rd Strike replacements (admit it....most of them are garbage). The story of Alpha 4 might even get kinda weird.
CvS3 > A4 > SFV > SFIV2013.
SNK/KOF really need more attention. KOF is just too good of a series to just die off. The netcode is the ONLY thing wrong with XIII, and it's a crying shame that they couldn't have made it better. I believe if they had, that game would almost be on the same levels as the other top fighters.
I can wait for something new concerning SF for a while. I do fear what Capcom would do if they made the game though...
I dont know why you guys think that Ono, let alone ANY producer, would confirm any existence of a game that has yet to be "officially" announced. They would get in so much trouble from their companies. The best they can do is give us subtle, potential hints or as everyone says "trolling". They couldn't just say no because then that would be a definite answer and kill any kind of hype around the title and the potential of getting made in the first place. Its kind of a lose/lose situation for them.
I think it's too late for an update at this point.
I mean if one was in the works they would obviously start hyping it by now, which doesn't seem the case.
With next gen console kits in the hands of developers I think it's safe to say Capcom's just thinking of its future fighters rather than insist on a pretty much complete (and very balanced) fighter.
SF5/Alpha4 it's gonna be a big hit on PS4/Xbox 720.
SSF4AE is probably one of my favorite fighters of all time, I play it like its still brand new.... am all for another update to the SF4 series and I'll be glad to pay for new content like stages, music, modes, & characters (just hope Karin makes it this time). I also hope new projects like SFA4, DS4, and even a CvS3 is underway. I hope SF5 is saved for next gen consoles... this way the graphics will of course look better and Capcom can work on new Mechanics for the game as well as give us something to play when PS4 and Xbox720 drops.
@ 85
Perhaps they are just trying to let SFxT 2013 sink in and have time to gain some footing before they start hyping anything else. We all know everyone wishes AE was the one that got the update in the first place so yeah -__-
For the people that think they can just plop a bunch of new characters in the game and not have to rebalance anything: You're Wrong.
I agree with AlphaLegend 110% on what he is saying SSF4AE is also my favorite games as well but I really want Alex in it and some more characters in it and more new stages, music, modes, gallery. I think the game needs Alex because if Alex does not make it this game will get boring easily furthermore that flaming character being burned by Dhalsim needs to be revealed and I know it's Alex. I also hope Yun, Yang, Evily Ryu and Oni Akuma get trials and Rival Cut-Scenes as well. I totally agree save SF5 for XBOX720 and Playstation 4. Either more characters Alex included for the next update or leave the game alone
SFA4 it would be awesome!!! I would love to see the enitre SFA3 cast make it with Alex, Oro, Yang, Dudley and some SF3 characters and the exact same graphics and gameplay as SFA3
#76 I think you are wrong. If you think about it, from a marketing/company/business POV SF4 is the most sold fighting game from capcom. The game is done, the engine is done, the fighting mechanics are done, they only need to add 4 chars (almost done in SFxTek, copy paste) do a light rebalance (a bit less damage here and there, 1 frame more startup here and there) and do a paid DLC. I'll be glad to pay for it up to 30$ on release day.
So in a cost/development/revenue, I think a sf4 AE dlc is inevitable.
@Vancityplayboy the game does need Alex! I mean the game has Dudley, Makoto, Ibuki, Yun & Yang but it would be awesome if we had at least 3 other characters from the SF3 series pop up with Alex being one of them cause of his popularity and the fact he's the main character from SF3. I also miss Hugo...and hope he's ported over from SFxT, I believe he would play better in SF4 than he did in xT. My 3rd choice would be between Oro, Urien, Sean, or Elena. But I think it would be to hard for Capcom to develop Oro cause of his use of one arm and Urien cause of his moves. It would be cool to see Sean go head to head with Dan Lol but I know we have enough shotos. From the Alpha series I'd like to Definitely see Karin cause see was my main in A3!
