One of the major plot points in the Flashpoint Alternate Universe was that amongst other changes Wonder Woman and Aquaman were at war and had nearly destroyed all of Europe.

It's official: this game got their Dan. For a lot of people stuck with the Superfriends incarnation. Who has yet to face him in DC Universe Online.

Aquaman's story is shaping up to be interesting, but the gameplay isn't anymore appealing than the rest of the cast. Nether Realm could learn a thing or two from Capcom and Namco when it comes to making aquatic characters work.

Depending on era, Aquaman never leaves the ocean or Atlantis unless he is called for business for the Justice League, which is rarely and he eventually leaves forever because he doesn't give a crap about humans. He answers to no one.

Well I have to admit that was really cool.Liked the fact that they made Aquaman look badass. Now if they can fix the look of the female characters to make them more appealing (not talking about making boobs bigger, talking about design aesthetics) specially wonder woman's face.

Are you guys seriously complaining about personalities? I see what you're saying when you mention MK but trying to relate that to Injustice is not smart. First of all, these characters already have established personalities thanks to comics and we haven't seen enough at all to even make the claim that they have "no personalities." Have you guys forgotten about Green Arrow, Harley, Joker, Solomon, Catwoman, and Lex who already exert a good amount of personality?

During the late eighties, X-Men had a mutant named Cypher. Cypher had the innate ability to understand and use any form of communication. For a primarily combat based organization, this ability was severely limited and the character wasn't particularly popular among fans.

A few years ago, Marvel brought back Cypher. His powers hadn't changed but according to the newer comics his understanding of them had grown immensely. They allowed him to "read" body language and became an excellent fighter, this same "body reading" basically gave him telepathy as well.

Being an awesome fighter and reading minds has nothing to do with language really, but Marvel saw he was unpopular and decided to juice him up with cool things. I see DC as doing this with Aquaman for the last ten years or so. Being able to control fish was a very limited ability, so now he's super strong, super good at fighting, and he controls massive horrors from the sea that would make cthulhu wet the bed.

I personaly like the DC New 52 - Aquaman comics, it is one of the best in terms of artwork. It was obvious that DC would want Aquaman in the game.

Really, no-one that hates him considers him important enough to require *getting over*. It's not that serious. It's not serious at all. He's just a bit of a running joke is all. That and he's an easy target. Kinda like the Millhouse Van Houten of the comic world. DC had to buff him for a reason, but the stigma attached to him is too gleeful and whimsical to let the buff matter.

It didn't even start with MK9. Bo Rai Cho by himself has more personality and internal conflict than the entire SF4 cast combined. I'm not being facetious: I can demonstrate that point.

And there's nothing wrong with that. Street Fighter's characters are not meant to rival Odysseus, Beowulf, or Hamlet. They're meant to be archetypes, story skins that players mentally put on to further immerse themselves into the experience. MK, however, was the product of cult films and epic fantasy/sci-fi, and that's the caliber it aspires towards.
