Capcom's Yoshinori Ono is on a trip to the United States and is stopping by both LA and San Francisco. Some fans have been wondering if while he's here he will announce anything, fortunately Ono has been replying to many questions on Twitter and let's us know there should be one in "some future." Hope you have a great trip :) Going to announce anything there ? :D - Cerberus_fx
Plz wait... some future.
Ono! When is SF x T PC Patch coming?!? Soon i hope :D - Hyperborrean
I'll ask to Capcom USA PC staff, plz wait and check CAPCOM-unity
Since English isn't his first language, it's uncertain of the time frame he means when he says future. He does confirm that an announcement is on it's way eventually though.
Tip sent in by USAtlas.
Considering the artwork he showed at the stream the other day that had Evil Ryu drawn by the person who drew the artwork for Turbo HD Remix.. I'd guess on the announcement being something about the Alpha series.
Interesting news either way. Can't wait to see what it is.
woo my tweet made front page baby!
Ono is the man.
I wasn't expecting much - just wanted to see if something was happening soon :x
I smell a re-release of an Alpha game with filters and online play, similar to 3rd strike online...but I would love a new SF Game!
The 4 series has been going since what, 2008 now? For those of us that have tried SFxT and aren't really feeling it, it would be great to have a brand spanking new SF game!! Fingers crossed.
It'll probably go like this.
FGC : "WAIT! A NEW ANNOUNCEMENT?!?!? IT HAS TO BE AN UPDATE OR EVEN A NEW GAME!!!!!"
Capcom: "What now? They expect something huge!"......."Just release the new gems."
C'mon guys stop getting your hopes up after every post like this from Ono/Capcom.
You say that now Darth, Trollno's powers are not to be underestimated.
DarthEnderX:
Spoken like a true realist.
Even if Ono's English might not be up to snuff, it's still difficult to take him seriously after the last cavalcade of nothing-trumpeting he did, all to toot the horn of SFxT after deliberately leading tons of people on about Darkstalkers instead.
Seriously, No more SFxT (or SF3) stuff. Stick to DS, CvS or Alpha stuff please, Ono.
AE Update with the characters he wanted from the get go (Rolento/R. Mika)
Dear Cerb,
Rose will be forever mid tier like Dolph Ziggler.
I wouldn't mind an HD re-release of SFA2-3 with all the fixins
haha devil. I wasn't specifically thinking about AE >_>. Kappa
@29:
I remember them trying a fresh cast with SFIII. That didn't go too well. I doubt they'll take that chance again.
It's probably no more than a just Darkstalker Ressurrection or even Remember me. Wouldn't get excited over this.
You guys are really stretching Ono's Engrish statements thin aren't ya?
Q: Are you going to announce anything about a new Capcom fighting game?
Ono: [makes farting sound]
EH Headline: Ono Confirms Announcement of SFV in Near Future!!!!

@32 That was only part of the problem. The larger causes of the failure was due to the fact that the CPS3 hardware was temperamental where if the security mechanism malfunctioned, the whole system board was useless, plus the fact that there weren't too many system boards available and was expensive to purchase/repair, so a lot of arcade owners didn't bother.
And the SF3 series came at a time when fighters were trending to 3D (Tekken, VF, etc.)
Blaming SF3's commercial failure to just the cast is ignorant.
If Ono will announce SFV, a few things must be in there:
1- AE's netcode. Forget that piece of unicorn what you used in SFxT
2 - A new engine (propably happens if SFV comes for the next generation consoles). xT looks horribly disgusting and IV's engine would be pretty outdated for a next game.
3 - Online Training Room from the very beginning.
4 - Vega (Claw) <3 ^^
5 - Parry System from Third Strike
It's propably about Darkstalkers anyway :(.
SFXT netcode is best online, even the pros say that xT is the best game for online.
Rollback netcode is best for real-time input results.
@38:
And so was most of the commercial fan base at the time. They didn't give a hell about
None of that BS you said. Lack of familiar faces = i'm not playing this game. That was
The mentality then. 2nd, I never said the cast was the sole reason
The series wasn't popular. But it does have a lot to do with it's un-popularity,
And i'm 99.9% positive having a cast of 98% all original characters in a SF game
Would have the same result. People would pass it up saying "this ain't no SF - there's
No E.Honda.!" It's as simple as that.
