First 200 VXG pre-registrants will re-enact Mortal Kombat movie dinner fight scene with actor who played Shang Tsung & EMP's Tom Brady

Offering a very unique, and I'd say awesome experience, the first 200 attendees who RSVP and pre-register for VXG 2013 will get to participate in a virtual re-enactment of the dinner fight scene from the original Mortal Kombat film, with the actor who played Shang Tsung, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, and Empire Arcadia's Tom Brady, playing Sub-Zero.

Not sure what we're talking about? Check the clip below.

“We are very excited that Shang Tsung has finally found the Island worthy of hosting the Mortal Kombat World Tournament that will determine who is the strongest warrior of earth realm,” said Rolando Brison, Vice-President of Video X Games. “The St. Maarten Tourist Board is a proud sponsor of this historical event – Video X Games 2013.”

The Video X Games will take place in St. Maarten, July 25-28, 2013, and players such as EG|Justin Wong, BT|IFC Yipes, FNEX|K-Brad and more will be in attendance.

i never post or troll or try to instigate s--t, but... F--king Tom Brady casts himself as Sub-zero? Sounds pretty full of himself.

VxG is going to be amazing. I'm trying to see if I can get time off from work and go there.

Not only is it a great gaming tournament experience but its also a vacation. Beach, Food, Drinks, Ladies, Night life, ect..

If anyone is contemplating between EVO vs VxG...definitely give VxG a lot of thought.

That headline is misleading. It says 'virtual reenactment'. Lame.

The FGC is too poverty to afford a trip to the Caribbean.

This tournament is for Hollywood players.

#6, The plane tickets to VxG is cheaper than EVO [Vegas].. and thats accounting both buying tickets now vs buying tickets 3-5 days before the trip.

~$1,000-$2,000 should be sufficient.

Dont forget also that when you sign up for VxG and enter, you get a Pass. This pass is good for free entrance to clubs, some free drinks at the clubs, ect.

Going with a friend or two and you can split the Hotel room for a cheaper room price. Its doable...

Think of it as a vacation + gaming experience.

@5 Well if more people actually READ the artcle instead of just the headline then people may not feel that its so "lame."

@7 The average person does'nt have $1000 to $2000 laying around to burn. Most people are putting that money up for EVO.

#10, Average person who works can easily afford to spend $1000-2000 especially around this time of the year with Tax returns. The only real problem I see is getting the time off from work for it.

"Most people are putting that money up for EVO."
Read post #4

VxG is having a bigger payout than EVO, less competition, and a better experience outside of gaming. The top players are more than likely going to both EVO and VxG. The average gamer will most likely have to chose between EVO and VxG..which is why I said to give VxG a lot of thought.

Thanks "Anbolichirs" you are informing the general public very well. I am skipping EVO for VXG for the all around exp. I been to the past 2 EVO's and while the tournament is amazing their is nothing much more then just that. And it is cheaper to go to St. Maarten then it is to go too EVO.

Also make sure you get your passports!!!!

@7 "The plane tickets to VxG is cheaper than EVO [Vegas].. and thats accounting both buying tickets now vs buying tickets 3-5 days before the trip"

Wait, what? That's just not the case at all for the majority of people. A lot of people are in Cali, and it's certainly waaaay cheaper to fly to Las Vegas from there than to St Maarten. I live in the Northeast, and it's pretty close, but still cheaper to Las Vegas. Maybe if you live in the Southeast what you say is true, but that's about it.

Mind you, I'm not against anyone going to this event, it sounds great, but this broad generalization of it being cheaper is completely untrue, for most people.

#17, You bring up a good point but I disagree to some extent. Dont forget that any flights even if its close by, will be priced high since its "Vegas." It will also be summer time, and after 4th of July [EVO is July 12-14 IIRC] so the plane tickets to Vegas will be high. VxG is at the end of the month.

From the NorthEast Coast, flight to St. Marteen should be cheaper than going to Vegas. This is still true even when the prices go up as the dates gets closer.

This is a quote from Rolando himself:
"Ok well airfare is as low as 460 if you book now, will go up to 600 closer to the date."
$600 at a closer date is probably half of what a plane ticket would be going to Vegas at a closer date. This is a flight from NJ BTW.

"Hotel is about $140/Night/Room. So if you stay 4 nights that's about $280 per person (shared room by one with double beds)."
Guarantee you these prices are lower than what you will find at Vegas in summertime.

Again, its just something to think about and to consider. VxG 2013 will be one phenomenal event.

@18 I appreciate you providing some additional information, which is a lot more than I have come to expect from the average user here, sadly.

I live in NJ as well, and I promise you that flights are NOT cheaper to St Marteen at this time. If it's important to you, you should take a moment to look up some rates.

In regards to the hotels, prices vary wildly in Las Vegas, but you'd be surprised. You most certainly can find plenty of hotels at and under that $140 rate in the summertime. I realize Las Vegas is a very popular location, but I guess all the competition keeps the prices down.

Hey guys, glad you like what we are doing in making VxG quite a spectacle!

Just to be factually correct about the pricing between Evo and St. Maarten:

Newark to SXM: http://www.orbitz.com/shop/home?type=...

Newark to Vegas: http://www.orbitz.com/shop/home?type=...

TLDR: Prices are the same right now. You can't count about the other hotels in Vegas that are cheaper because they wont be cheaper than the "cheaper" hotels in St. Maarten. End of the day you need to judge based on the venue hotel cause thats where generally everyone is gonna wanna stay.

Also, VxG includes a lot in the $100 venue fee: free full buffet breakfast every day, all transportation (airport and party pickups and dropoffs), a free jeep tour, a goodie bag from sponros and government, entrance to ALL parties and nightclubs, ticket vouhcers for discounts on food and shooping and much more.

VxG for anybody flying out of the eat, miwest or south is cheaper than Vegas. West coast players though will find Vxg to be more of an investment than Evo.

BTW this is NOT including Jet Blue discounts that will go in effect once our registration opens. So if you fly from JFK, Boston or LAX you will get discount promo code from VxG to fly to St. Maarten with Jet Blue.
