Capcom holding Street Fighter character poll to determine everyone's favorite characters, will help future games, marketing and licensing

Combofiend over on Capcom-Unity posted a Street Fighter character poll to determine which characters over the past 20 years have stood out the most to you as a player.

He also notes that the opinions are important to Capcom as the information here will help future games, marketing and licensing.

Before I look at or review anything, I am just going to say this in regards to "future games":

*suppresses rant relating to how a FG return in SFxT as Sak's partner was damn wasted >.<*

I know about the "complications", but.....damn it qq

On a more productive note, specifically on the Street Fighter front, I believe Juri, C. Viper, Abel, and Hakan are great additions to the franchise and are deserving of returning rolls in future rosters ;)

Nothing against the other SF4 exclusive cast members, but those are just the ones I like the best personally.

Really hard pick for five. I love Vega, Makoto, and Dudley almost as much.

Anyway, I hope they aren't taking these polls too seriously. If Capcom had based everything on marketing research years ago, we wouldn't have had the SF3 cast, which I've come to enjoy a lot more over overall compared to the classic World Warrior roster. I hope Capcom intends to bring us some more new characters in the future. I applaud them for taking risks on guys like Hakan.

I'm glad to see they are doing this survey, and I'm especially glad to see a good amount of Cody love in the comments. Not much love for Oni, huh? My reasons for voting for him are

1) His moveset is pretty unique for being classified as a "shoto"

2) He's super fun to play as. All those air raging demon setups are so cool. If Oni doesn't return in later installments, I at least hope his moves are passed along to another character.
