Combofiend over on Capcom-Unity just posted information on the update to Street Fighter X Tekken for the PC.Capcom would like to sincerely apologize for the fact that our PC fans of Street Fighter X Tekken have had to wait so long for updates. However, we do have some good news to share.
All of the remaining DLC will be up on the store starting this Wednesday, February 6th. So that all of you that have been patiently waiting will have an easier time of getting it, we will also be putting it on sale. Initially, the 12 new character DLC pack will have a 75% discount; so it will be available for two weeks at $5.00 instead of its normal $19.99.
Additionally, we can confirm that development is continuing on version 1.08 (aka Ver. 2013). While we don’t have a specific timeframe yet, the team is very aware that the DLC for SFxTK has taken longer than usual to be released and is working hard to try and reduce the amount of time you will have to wait.
We will post more details as they become available.
I wish the Xbox/PS3 version will had a 75% discount for the DLC characters...
Have a Steam sale for SFxT when the DLC goes on sale and I'll buy it, Capcom.
The PC scene is almost entirely modding anyway, no big rush.
Not saying that like it's a bad thing, I think SF4/xT mods are pretty neat and fun to mess around with, but it's not like there's a big scene mad about this.
Holy crap. That's a pretty damn deep discount.
Now all I have to do is hope Steam, Gamersgate, or possibly Amazon put the downloadable version of the main game on sale.
Which ever PC gamers that cashed in on those $12.49 sales are going to be sitting pretty. They'll have snagged the whole roster for $17.49
#7: yup, matter of fact I got all the alternat outfits plus SFxT on PC for like $15, so $20 in total for everything? That's an amazing deal, especially considering just the DLC on console was $20.
5$? B*tch Please, it's super easy to get them for free and OFFICIAL.
So, Capcom is bringing PC users the version 1.07, huh? Why don't they bring for once the latest versión and let the game exactly as the consoles version? I think, that it's not very difficult to reprogram it, and it could be easier to do it on PC.
Bleh, D*mn Crapcom...
A better apology would be fixing the damn online and porting v2013 in a reasonable timeframe.
The $20 price tag is just ridiculous though, those characters were ready before console release (and on disc), let alone the PC one.
Sigh.
@ #13
Sorry to sound rude, but you really don't know what you're talking about.
You can max SFxT on full HD with an obsolete 50 $ card, and it'll sh*t on any console version due to much superior anti-aliasing + anisotropic filtering. Not that it will matter because the online is unplayable but...
SF4 also performs flawlessly, get a decent PC.
They should've did this deal on the consoles aswell instead of the 25% off.
Why can't the character pack be 5 bucks at the psn store as well? lol ;(
@1, 15 and 20
PC players were stuck on 1.02 until recently.
This deal is Capcom trying to make things right with there PC support base.
Doing the same deal on consoles would defeat that purpose and would do nothing to show PC supporters they are sorry for the poor treatment they have received.
Who cares about dlc if you cant play the ganze anyway?
These idiots should fix the goddamn netcode first.
Smorgasbord - its not really about ppl being "too cheap".that's a very simplistic way of looking at this issue.Just ask urself these questions "what makes pc owners so special that they get a 75% discount?" "why couldn't console owners get this same discount?" Especially after all the crap we were put thru and lies we were fed just during the 1st 2 months of this game's release. The controversy surrounding this game alone caused capcoms BBB rating to go down a full letter grade! Literally everything u as a player couldve possibly unlocked was locked away as mostly paid dlc.I don't mind dropping $ on dlc from a HIGH QUALITY PRODUCT which sfxtk definitely could not be classified as at launch (and probably still isnt).
I get a lot of great matches with European playesr (I am from Norway) and American players as well. I have no idea why people say i is unplayable. I admit that you get teleporting matches with some players, but just avoid them, and keep playing the guys that you have a good connection with.
Capcom should have done the same thing on consoles, at least for the first week. Particularly because many who buy DLC on day one are from your hardcore loyal fan base.
@ #29
The buddies I play flawlessly with SSF4:AE (and other fighting games) just teleport like crazy or simply desynchs, so you go Desk-style on them only to be told they're teleporting.
Also how exactly you avoid players if you're facing them for the first time?
Please, let's just not pretend this is not an issue. Without online PC SFxT is dead.
People (even the most bitter ones like me) want to give the game another chance with v13, but Capcom's just neglecting the issue.
@26
PC owners get more discount because their version is much worse and require a lower price point to sell well.
Not only do console owners have a better version, there has been so many free DLC codes given out that there aren't many sales left so a higher price point would still be alright.
SFxT is well worth it's selling price now except for people who still think it is bad. And if you think it is bad, you probably don't plan to play the game and just want free stuff.
Hence, some people are still too cheap.
@11
Unfortunately, it's not as easy as you (and many other players) think. Back in 16-bit and even 32-bit era, it was relatively easy to port a game to other platforms due to the simpler technology involved, and even then the port might not be as good (compare multi-platform games, like SNES-Mega or PS1-Saturn, and you'll understand my point), but nowadays the programming necessary is way harder. Moreover, the company responsible for the PC port is different from the consoles, so it's natural that they use different methods.
It's easy to blame Capcom or other company for delays or bugs when you don't know their side of the story (I thought the same way as you before working in the area). However, this is obviously not an excuse to mistreat PC users like they did until now (mainly GFWL users with the DLCs' installation error recently).
Everybody complaining about teleport/lag:
Guys, unfortunately, there's not a thing we can do. Capcom Japan still doesn't acknowledge PC as a gaming platform, and they probably don't want to, since Capcom USA does show them our support. So, addressing PC-exclusive issues for them is quite useless, since every update SFxT receives must have their approval. It's sad, I know, but true...
They should have thrown in costumes but maybe that's asking too much. :P
@ #37
What resolution are you playing on? Still, the CPU is okay but that gfx is no good.
All you need is something equivalent or better than a Nvidia 9800GTX/GTS250 or ATI HD4850 to play it on full HD, maybe a little better if you want strong AA.
These are pretty much 4 years old cards though, your best bet is a cheap yet very solid HD 7750. Even better a 7770 if you plan to play other games, slightly more expensive but packs more punch. Nvidia's GTX 650 costs about the same as AMD's HD 7770 but it's a bit slower.
The game is not on my region on Steam, another store with a good deal??
@42
I'm not aware of any SFxT discounts right now, but Gamersgate has a downloadable version and doesn't care about GFWL region restrictions. Origin is also an alternative.
If you really want a cheap copy you could go to one of those shady russian key sites(aka the grey market) at your own risk I guess.
U know what kind of deal this is, it is an FTW deal thats what it is.
Why? Well it's simple really, because:
PC = FTW.
@Schwoi
Graphics I guess.
Honestly, I couldn't think of a way of making a modern Capcom game's PC version not the best option but lo and behold, between the terrible patching/DLC schedule and the godawful netcode they actually pulled it off with SFxT.
Bravo Capcom, bravo.
Smorgasbord - that's the thing, it isn't worth its pricetag.if it was $20 then yea it would be but $40? (the game+dlc to get the full experience) sorry but no.if capcom had put the chars under $10 then I can say I wouldve given the game another shot since I would at least have all the chars at my disposal.but to buy a game that is purposely 12 chars short (to milk more $ out of an incomplete,glitchy product) and on top of that has crappy netcode,no co-op on 360 (which I'm on),and absolutely nothing to unlock by playing the game for anything more than $25 just isnt worth it.
