Stylish and limited MCZ Platinum sticks being auctioned off - Part of profits go to typhoon relief efforts in Philipinnes, video and images inside

The Mad Catz Platinum Capcom Cup 2013 arcade stick is a beautiful sight indeed for anybody who is into fighting games. You can check it out closer below.

With only 24 of them having been produced, 12 of them are now being put up for auction by Mad Catz, with part of the profits going to the Philippine Red Cross to aid in relief efforts caused by Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda.

It's called the collecting mentality it's an investment, collecting stuff that have no value is hoarding.

It would be pretty stupid to put wear and tear on a high price rare stick like this when you can buy a TE2 stick for $200 or the others for under $100 to use daily

Would a raffle have worked better? I think the extremely high prices turn most people's heads the other way because there's just no chance of even winning it.

I would think it's legal as the monetary gain is directed toward charitable causes.

Nevertheless, kudos to MCZ for taking the initiative in showing support for not just the gaming community but for the people in it who may have been affected by this in one way or another.

Thanks for the response. We are looking into the legalities now of a raffle. We may do a raffle for one of them in the future, but uncertain at this point.

It's spelled 'Philippines' by the way. 2 p's in the middle, not 2 n's. The spelling is correct in the article, but not in the title.
