Houston Rockets of the NBA do a little Mortal Kombat routine before a game to get them going

Every now and again we see fighting game references spill over into more main stream media, and we got an example of this the other day in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard, who's regarded as one of the best players in the league, does a little fight sequence on point guard Aaron Brooks, finishing him off with Mortal Kombat-styled uppercut.

Nothing overly special about the clip, but it's cool to see that some of these guys are fans of the same games we are. Hit the jump to view the very short video.

No one uppercutted Dwight Howard's head off. Lame video! :(

Looks like we have a few Magic and Laker fans in here. Guys, I'm a Kings fan, you've got it waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than us.

Us Sacramento fans know pain and suffering. :(

I'm a Sonics fan >_>

Still Dwight Howard is at least top 10...just because he can't handle pressure or live up to whatever the Lakers wanted from him doesn't mean he isn't good.

Yeah, not everyone is a fan/knows about the NBA, so tried to make it somewhat generic for their sake's.

Hey I'm a Rockets fan, and I think it's great that Dwight is having fun and the team is coming together quite nicely. However that NBA top 10 list is criminal for not having Kevin Love being in there.

I agree about the Kevin love thing he's my second favorite player in the league behind Iggy who are both extremely underrated (I feel like love is top 5 and iggy is top 10 with the potential of a top 5 but isn't because of his "I don't want to score but be the best in everything else mentality")

Pretty cool.

Not the biggest basketball fan myself but I do dig the Warriors since I'm from Oakland.

Screw Howard. Hope that guy NEVER win a NBA title in his career. The guy has NO loyalty to any team. I give him two years with the Rockets before he asks to be traded.

Iggy top 10??? get out of here please.

Easily better players than him, LBJ, durant, curry, love, harden, westbrook, wade, unibrow, CP3, rose when healthy, Kobe when healthy, Paul George, Wall...I could go on.
