Funny how Flocker went undefeated all the way to grand finals last year but doesn't get featured on the list of cool kids going to the party.

Funny how people buy into this circlejerk in the fgc.

I'm really impressed by Console Combat's steaming set-up, I don't think I've ever seen a stream of theirs before. The cameras on the players and displaying them during the match is a nice touch. Nicely done, would watch again.

Kuroda has nothing to do with this, try to stay on topic. They lost to C and D teams and I'm telling you it was to please the stream because guess what? While you were sitting on your ass raging at your computer screen, I was standing right behind Champ when he said "The monsters want me to use Ghost Rider." Chris G on the other hand just went random select cause he was bored and didn't feel like playing seriously after the 3rd set.

2nd I wasnt raging @ all but i can imagine what a guy like Kane who fly from chili, (cuz my trip to evo cost me 4000$,24 hr car trip, + 20h trip by plane) feel when he got trolled like that. Its called empathy. These guys came to fight againts the best, not to get troll. If u dont want to play just say no.But dont make fun of people.

3rd: Stream monster sometimes said that fchamp should marry ricky Ortiz , he will do it too? When they said get Ski off the mic , streamer will do it too? The FGC is an Idiocracy?

1. Retaliation troll doesn't apply here; they simply did it because everyone knew it would be free for USA, so they wanted to keep it somewhat entertaining. Did you really want to see a score like 17-5 after all the built up hype for this? To put things in perspective, no side bets were taken, even with 5-1 odds. Even after the fun teams were pulled out people still didn't want to bet

KaneBlueRiver didn't fly out here soley for an exhibition. He came for several tournaments, and said he can't improve in Chile so he's moving to America next year. You're right, Kane did feel like crap when he got the fun teams, that's why I respect him for standing up, asking for Chris' main team, and actually winning. He proved he deserved the real stuff, unlike everybody before him.

And again, it was just an exhibition with no money on the line, only bragging rights, so if they couldn't even get past joke teams what makes you think they're entitled to the main chickens?

-TTT2 tournament was amazing, JWong got curbstomped early but respect for playing. Alex Valle had some amazing matches. I thought Fab would win but those mixups were too much, and also good stuff by Trungy.
-Kof was hilarious, Bala, Jwong, MadKof, and Juicebox were the most hype players and it was a great tournament.

Looking forward to SF4AE & UMvC3 finals. Ae is starting to get a little stale to me but I guess TTT2 and Doa came out at the perfect time to spice things up.

it has nothing to do with fair ot not fair. Since they no draw rule were set, they should go with what's ever rule that we used to have with mvc2. If double ko or draw = both guy get a game in mvc2, he should win. If double ko = no win for both guy, then they should fight.

@77 I'm an 08er, so I dunno about any rules that were used for MVC2, but I'm sure you can understand that not only is this a different era, this is a different game entirely. Yipes himself said that it shouldn't count as a win, and he is an OG MVC2 top player.

Anyways, Yipes is outta the tourney, so I don't feel like watching anymore. Gonna play some MVC.

New era doesn't matter. American host this tournament, you need to set the rule. If there is no rule, the next logic should go with what was the normal rule that we use for same type of games which is mvc2.

the worst thing is create new rule on the fry.

Godlike ent get's it, fgc needs to be more E sports. FGC is going to stay forever poor and lack real sponsorship if they don't change how things are ran. Too bad they had little to no control over the content\commentators for this season beatings.Cursing\raciest talk\drinking on stream\stupid pop off videos\homophobic slurs makes the fgc look bad. It may be fun in all for stream monster's, but sponsors would not want to put they're products behind that kind of event.

^ Everyone's thoughts on the commentators are just opinions. There's always going to be people in favor or disfavor of certain commentators.

I for one liked listening to Combofiend and Flash Metroid talk on the stream. They were funny as hell to me.

So I disagree with people saying we need "Professional" commentators. It really doesn't matter. Everyone brings their own style to the booth and if you don't enjoy it, put it on mute.

^ It's a business if top players\TO want to get paid. They need to control the product. It's fine at a local level, but SB is one of the bigger majors. Besides grown ass adults watching the stream, little kids are watching too. Hearing the F word and N*gga this and N*gga that makes the fgc sound ignorant. I know the TO for SB where very busy and couldn't control the stream, nor was it console combat problem. It's the random fools in the fgc trying to get on the mic for no reason trying to be the next ultra chen. Spooky realized this and started to control who gets on stream, he controls his product.

What was the point of dnyce getting on? To talk about shoes and himself? Players like Yipes\Jwong\Viscant get it, you rarely see them curse when commentating. They have a brand\sponsor to represent.

it was total BS to make the rule for draws in the middle of the tournament. It would have been a different case if Filipino were on the loser side. This time, filipino was supporting the decision because it went well for him, but if it wasn't, he would be complaining about it on his stream.

At the end, CAPCOM has to standarize what's is gonna happen when draws appears. They just can't in one game do nothing, and in the other giving the victory for both players. That's not what's you're supposed to act when your bussiness is about competition.

dorayaki said on October 1, 2012 at 4:51 a.m.

@94 You're an idiot.
@92 Capcom doesn't need to do anything. At that point, the game is OVER. Capcom doesn't need to keep score. However, the only precedent currently known in capcom fighting games is to award one round each to a draw or double-ko. If you continue along that fashion, you would award one game each to a draw or double-ko ends a game.
The reason game producers did this originally was so that you can't play the game ALL day long for free. SF2 was originally made so double-ko or draw equals no round awarded. But if two buddies got on, they could play forever. So they changed that in later versions.

In the same way, if you ran a first to three, and theoretically had 20 draw games, you'd still need to run a first to three. However, using the current SF precedent, you'd only have to win ONE game to break the tie- which makes sense.

So, imo the game should've been awarded to the other guy (not fchamp). I'm 100% sure that most people in that biased room would've changed their tune if it was the other way around. And the argument that both players said runback is null and void - players can't decide rules- unless he wanted to forfeit.

That being said, in the end fchamp beat him twice in a row. But was it a break of concentration at that point? Distraction? Who knows. But imo that was a ghetto scene and a call made by the players instead of the organizers. Wack.

#95
Default avatar
dorayaki said on October 1, 2012 at 5:01 a.m.

and concerning the commentary, ghetto. I personally didn't mind it but when you have 15k plus viewers, you may need to consider the professionalism of the commentators - especially if it was true that the likes of Ono was watching.

What i noticed most and what people don't want to talk about is what an a$$ Combofiend is - and how f'in sensitive he is. He seriously thinks he's god's gift to the stream. Whether it was because he was drinking or just being himself, his true colors showed. And I know a lot of you kids want to suck his dong, but if you saw the stream thru and thru, you know what i'm sayin.

I'm not seeing how combo was being an ass, and I watched the whole stream. The only thing he did was say f*ggotry, and that was because he was told the mics were off, and when he realized they weren't he apologized profusely and even stopped commentating. @98 the preceding day, when the tatertot guy called him out for having a modok head, Combo got all sensitive and defensive. Look- i know when people play and go back and forth, but Combo was sensitive for real. Then he came back a few times saying that the reason the other dude had any tweet followers is because of him (combofiend) and the reason there were so many viewers on stream was because of him.
Look, again i KNOW when dudes are talking ish and just joking around. Combo was saying this ish and you can tell he was coming off a little different. I don't know if you caught all that but it wasn't just a one-liner. He said it a couple of different times about how people wanted to see and hear him on stream, his followers, etc.

I've not met him personally but always got the impression he was a modest chill dude-- just like most of you probably think. But modest chill dudes don't spout out those types of things off the top of the head. Like i said, maybe he was tired or drinking or whatever, but i'm not making this up from scratch.

Finally, you said it yourself, he's one way when he thinks the mic is off vs when he's on stream. That's understandable. So imagine that his real personality came out a bit when he was clowned vs the personality we usually see him as on stream. That's all I'm saying.
