Siegfried was the series Protagonist character(Whenever he was was not apart of Nightmare) so thats a given. I was also a sucker for dat Zweihander

True dat. Almost forgot bout Siegfried.

Not sure who I would class as bottom tier. Maybe Dampierre or Viola. I main Viola but man was it a mission to win with her.

Bottom tier is definitely Dampierre his whole game relies on chance and it is really bad chance, Viola is at least middle tier, if you know how to use her correctly it is hard to lose.

No way . Siegfried was quite nerfed this time around . He is even low tiers on some soul forums , and most likely and realistically mid tiers at best .

Nightmare is also "only great" this time . Nowhere close to being top tier . Basically a B+ or B .

#16 It is not about popularity, Siegfried and Nightmare are not even close to high tier, people like to think they are because they lose to them a lot, but actually they only lose because they do not know their tricks, once you learn the tricks, Siegfried and Nightmare are extremely easy to block and punish, leaving them with basically nothing since they are so slow.

The game has done a decent job of balancing itself anyway . I know there are still natsu hater out there (i dislike her too mind you ) but plenty was fixed via patches .

Tiers arent nearly as far away from each rank and level as usually thought . Only a few neglected bottom tiers chars like Zwei , Dampierre and Raphael should truly have a bone to pick about the game anyway or feel neglected

#16 I just think Siegfried and Nightmare can swing those giant sword a bit fast for the reach it has. But since, I never use those characters is better for some one who does give a better opinion on them. Also, I think of Xiba is an annoying character too.

I can't wait to see the list just to know where the characters I use stand on the tier list. I use Max, Ivy and Mitsurugi.

Siegfried is quite slow , even when factoring his reach . Besides his reach isnt that useful when so many of his moves are so unsafe and punishable .

I find that using Sieg efficiently is about knowing his moves perfectly and mastering his stances , and that's kinda what you see from the bet soegs around .

Not some kind of behemoth sword users with a huge reach and yet fast reaction , as seen sometimes in the past .

Nightmare remains fast enough and quite beastly , but he is nowhere as safe and powerful as he used to be .

Even though Sieg and Nightmare are "slow" they are still way too fast for there reach and mixups. I'd still place these 2 top tier despite there nerfs and despite Violas buffs, I'd still consider her bottom tier, just above Dampierre. I main Viola and still think for the amount of work you have to do with her, her damage is too poor. Probably the most fun character to use though. This is just my opinion though.

Last I checked Siegfried was the worst character in the game due to his whiffing problems; you have to be really smart to use avoid getting predictable. Natsu and Nightmare are probably the most notable powerhouses of the game from my expierience and according to past tierlists. Viola and Maxi are both very difficult read. Overall I think that this game is extremely balanced, everyone seems to have a different group of characters who they think are cheap and super high tier. Any character can be cheap!

To each their opinion i guess . But your viola easily outclass Siegfried . She was way better and always ranked higher than him , before patches , and was significantly boosted after patches .

I can only agree with the post above anyway (except about nightmare)

Yeah bud, it's probably just me having a terrible Viola and my lack of knowledge fighting against Siegfried.

Viola is a very good character with her constant fast pressure, her ranged game, mixups with throws and whatnot, and her ridiculous combos. She does not do a lot of damage outside of combos because she doesn't need to, as long as you know what you are doing.
