We finally get to play as unknown, she's gonna be a beast. It would've been cool to have a second costume with the wolf like on the first Tekken Tag.

maybe these aren't the same people who where complaining about SFXT and maybe they just use DLC as a generic term for additional content which is accessed by unlocking over the internet. It's like how people use LOL but they aren't actually laughing out loud.
I for one am happy it's on the disk. I won't have to wait for it to download and it won't waste more hard drive space.
"Partez si vous tenez à la vie", "Jeune fille, on ne se comporte pas de la sorte !". Sebastian is awesome.
Also, if you look closely, there are skeleton on Unknown spikes.
@6
Are these characters fan favs that they are purposely witheld to gain a bigger profit? are these characters being charged for?
is this a large amount of dlc compared to capcom's sf x tk which has over 125$ dollars worth of dlc.
@11, 14
He mentioned it and i'm pretty sure these are the charatcers he is was talking about. Either way it doesn't change the fact that they are on the disc. However, I have yet to see a complaint about these characters being disc locked. I'm guessing because they are FREE that nobody cares they are disc locked huh? So the real problem is just that the characters weren't FREE, just that you guys have to pay. When in reality it is DLC and disc locking in general thats the problem.
lol Sebastian is so freaking awesome. IMO he doesn't even seem feminine, just extremely classy and elegant. Since I already main Lili, it's gonna be easy to pick him up. Maybe there's a way where I can make Lili look like Batgirl and Sebastian like Alfred for a fabulous Batman themed team. :P
And wow, Unknown is gonna be scary online!
@16
yea and like half of sf x tk dlc characters wasnt re-used models being charged for you to buy. its one thing to witheld 3 characters for a profit but its another thing to witheld fan favs such as guy,sakura,cody,duddly and freakin elena, just so you can sell more units.
either way at the end of the day all this stuff will begiven to the player free of charge to even more enjoy his 60 perchase. while the other player will continually cough up more money to make his experience feel more complete. just like you said "It just gives you the illusion that you are getting more and more content when in reality that stuff has been there since day one" its just an i illusion so capcom is tricking you into buying more stuff when its all ready complete. btw sf x tk still has dlc that has yet to released and charged for.
@19
Atleast Capcom doesn't charge you to play online if you bought the game used... Either way, the BIGGEST problem is companies are now leaving bits and pieces out of their games and charging people for it or asking you to download it later. Some people don't have access to internet... And people act like Namco is their savior when it is ONLY Harada. He is the reason you're getting this so called "extra" content. Example? Soul Caliber V.
Lol @ people trying to bash Harada.
The issue with on disc DLC is that you have to pay for something you >>already bough<< (in b4 eula retards).
As long as you're getting it for free, it doesn't matter whether or not they are on the disc, because you're getting what you paid for.
@ #21
I paid for a Capcom game I still cannot play online because the netplay is atrociously bad (and that's with people I play smoothly AE 2012 and MvC3). How about that?
And Namco is NOT charging you to play online, what are you babbling about. You buy the game, you play online. You have to pay for the online pass only if you get it used.
I can finally use two Lilis. It's a great day.
I'm sure Unknown won't be as cheap as the Arcade version, but that tag switch with Jun was crazy awesome.
Amazing game keeps getting better.
You guys miss the point... These are fanservice characters which are only added as a little bonus, they're all minor charcters which 99% of people wont use anyways sooo
Also Harada said thay clones are useful for people who find it hard to main 2 characters, so these characters are actually quite useful in that sense.
Thy are all free anyway, who actually cares if they're on disc. Some people just keep nitpicking.
@23 "in b4 eula retards"
lol you mean people who can read? Or have a rudimentary understanding of software licenses?
@23
You are paying to play the game online if you buy it used. Meaning you are PAYING to USE a feature already on disc. Capcom didn't charge you for online mode, no matter how good or bad it is.
"As long as you're getting it for free, it doesn't matter whether or not they are on the disc, because you're getting what you paid for. "
My point proven. You guys didn't care if it was on disc or not, you guys just care if it is FREE or NOT. Stay Cheap FGC
@29
"You are paying to play the game online if you buy it used. Meaning you are PAYING to USE a feature already on disc. Capcom didn't charge you for online mode, no matter how good or bad it is."
Capcom doesn't charge for online coz they charge for everything else while in TTT2 you get charged £0 once you buy the game new. Even if you buy the game used Capcom still makes a ton of money off you via DLC, While Namco make £0 if you buy the game since they don't charge for DLC.
"My point proven. You guys didn't care if it was on disc or not, you guys just care if it is FREE or NOT. Stay Cheap FGC"
Its not being cheap but realistic. Not everyone can afford to spend £40 on a new game so when they do they want to have the full package and have half of it locked away. Now this does apply to TTT2 however Capcom is releasing fan Favourites for a price which are already on the disk and know many players will buy them while Namco is releasing joke and clone characters for free while having all fan Favourites (Alex, Kuni, Angel, Ogre's, Forest, etc) in the game day 1 (or Pre-ordder and free later on).
@29
Technically, you are not paying for downloadable content, you're paying for an online pass if you choose to buy the game used. The content doesn't have price tag but the online pass does. You are comparing this to Capcom, which is in no way similar to what Namco is doing. You're just finding a reason to complaining because you want to buy used games.
Everybody is missing the point. It does not matter whether or not it is Free. The problem is companies are LOCKING away parts of the game that are already on disc.
@30 It is cheap. Nobody really cared about the fact that the characters were on disc. The fact was that they had to pay for it. And this is only going out to the people who made the "on-disc" arguement. Not everybody else
And Stop saying NAMCO. Namco does the exact same thing Capcom does with thier DLC. They just didn't do it with TTT2 because of Harada, whom I respect. When it comes down to it, I'm sure Namco would of done the exact same thing it did with Soul Caliber.
@31 I'm not complaining because I want to by the game used, I personally buy 75% of my games new. but not everybody has the funds/internet to either get the game NEW or purchase the pass online. Instead of gaming companies dealing with Gamestop and ETC. they take it out on the customers who do buy games used, when they are only smart shopping. Its not our fault Gamestop dosesn't give them the profit they earned when somebody purchases a used game.
@29 "My point proven. You guys didn't care if it was on disc or not, you guys just care if it is FREE or NOT. Stay Cheap FGC"
The problem is paying for the disk with the characters on it then paying again for the characters. If they were free then of course no one would care because we've already paid for it once like we were supposed to.
If you buy the game used how is that fair for the developers who get no money from the exchange. For every sale of the game the developers should get their share, too. An online pass is their way of ensuring it.
Before I get anymore Comments trying to pick apart what i've been trying to point out, or not understainding My problems, it is:
DLC in general and On Disc DLC. Doesn't matter if it is free or not, "DLC" is geting out of hand in general. Atleast what I think.
Online Passes and or Buy New/Pre-order Get more content. It is wrong period. Punishing Customers who DO BUY USED GAMES(not talking about myself as I do purchase NEW GAMES)Gamestop and other companies are not giving them any profits for when people purchase games used games. They should deal with those companies. Not try to work around it.
@35 You edited your statement. You didn't make that clear the first time. My other points still stand. If I bought a game used I would much rather pay $10 for an online pay than pay $20 for some characters that are already on the disk. Online isn't a necessity. A quarter of the roster is.
The problem is paying twice,not paying.
Alot of these arguments are just plain silly. I mean take a step back and look at what's being said. I'm all for the semi clone characters and Dr. B. The stages are what I want the most tho. But yeah #35 you did say "stay cheap fgc" and "I don't want to buy games new" which...... somehow..... makes....sense....?
@32
SCV didn't have character DLCs, everything they released were cosmetic. Can't find a moe maid costume in the very large customization of SCV then go buy the Moe Maid costume DLC pack.
Capcom on the other hand released characters which are key essentials of any fighting game, anyone who wants to take the game serious has to buy them DLCs.
The reason people aren't complaining about on disk DLC is because they already own that DLC and now only have to wait for Namco to release the codes which they can simply download and get access to them characters. While on the other hand people complain about Capcoms on disk DLC because they already own that DLC but they have to PAY for the codes just to access em, its like being sold a car and then the keys to the car separately.
@38
I never said I didn't buy games New. Lol I swear people don't know how to read.
@39
Dampierre was 5 dollars for whoever didn't preorder from Best Buy. Not mentioning they charged for music when they allow custom play-list on ps3 version and they don't even mention it on the case. AND that the beginning set of Costumes and Music were ON DISC. So that arguement about it being on disc and owning it applies to Namco as well. And since you want to use the car example I got one too. If somebody purchases a car, they don't ask for you to pay an additional 50 dollars so you can use the air conditioner just because you bought it used now do they?
@19
You only like harada because the content is free and that is only why. Youre not looking at the fact that is already on the disc just like Capcom. Yeah Capcom recycled Guy, Cody, Dudley, and Sakura but what about th Tekken side? Did they recycle them too? No. Either company gets the short End of the stick
@44
Are you serious? What kind of counter arguement is that? With that kind of logic, why should you even be on this website when you aren't paying the creator of the website? You aren't paying catalyst to be here, you're paying your ISP. And We have every right to complain, just like you do when Capcom does it with their games. And like I said before, it isn't our fault that Gamestop and others aren't giving the credit to the developers. We are showing interest in their game when we purchase it.
Who cares if they have disc locked content, it's coming out a month or two later for free anyway :L
They're only adding them for fan service and so people don't have to main 2 characters... When will you people realise this?
In fact I'd even go as far as saying that having them being released at a later date is a good thing because it maintains peoples intrest in the game.
It's not that big of a deal, like I said :L
@45
How much does Namco get from TTT2 used:
The game = £0
DLC = £0
Online = £10
Total = £10
Do you think running online is free ?
Does the concept of companies not offering their service to you because you brought their product from a second hand source seem that stupid to you ?
@47
Or maybe like I said before, Why should we pay MORE if we are already paying for the game itself? It isn't OUR fault if gamestop isn't providing money to them. If this was happening at the start of online console gaming I wouldn't have a problem with this. But it hasn't, and they are coming after us to make up with lost profits. Not saying 10 dollars is alot. Just the principle
#47 nails it.
Even more so with World Tekken Federation, stat tracking like that aint cheap.
People need to stop trying to force this in to the SFXT bracket. It's being over analysed to hell when in reality its just some more free content. take it for what it is and stop whining.
@49
Yes it is our fault Gamestop isn't providing them any money. We sell our games to Gamestop for a very cheap price (buy game for $60 and sell it a month later for $10), they get games for a very cheap price, polish it up and resell it at a price which makes new games look too expensive.
Its like providing the gun to a murder, we are accomplice to retailers such as Gamestop and as such we are liable to as much responsibility to this as them.
Online pass hurts used games which affects both people who want to buy new games cheap and retailers because they will have to sell them games at an even lower price to make up for the lack of online.
@51
We can continue this all day but you're not going to sway my mind. It starts with online passes and additional content now, it is easily a slippery slop from there. And how is it our fault? Game stop tells us what we can sell it for. We have no choice on how much we get for games we sell.
@52
If you took the time to browse through my comment history you should take the time to fully read my statements. I never said I was waiting for a price drop nor did I say I don't buy games new. I said I have higher priority games that comes first. If I have extra cash then I'll pick up tekken, but at the moment that isn't looking that way.
LMFAO at some people. PLEASE don't act like Namco is the saviour. That's BS at it's finest. Be more specific. If you say Harada is the saviour, then I understand but Namco as a whole? Let's not go too far. All I can say is look at Ridge Racer on PS Vita and that is so hilarious. Then come back to me and say 'WOW, NAMCO IS MY SAVIOUR'. Hahahaha but of course, you guys will defend that crap known as Ridge Racer (PS Vita).
Oh, and the guy who said 'I paid for a Capcom game I still cannot play online because the netplay is atrociously bad (and that's with people I play smoothly AE 2012 and MvC3). How about that?'
Really? You must have a garbage internet connection if you say that. In fact, out of SFxT, SSF4 and UMVC3, SFxT has the best netcode out of those 3. SFxT's netcode uses the ROLLBACK netcode and both Supercade and GGPO uses this netcode. People complain about this, don't know what they're talking about, such big bitches. Hahaha seriously, try harder, Mr Panda. Come up with even more funny stuff, impress the Dictator, if you can.
Dictator is really laughing at you guys:
@53
"We have no choice on how much we get for games we sell."
Then why do you sell to Gamestop? eBay, Craigslist, or selling it to someone outside of Gamestop all would yield you more money.
The truth about DLC is that the content was meant to be paid from the beginning, because that is Sony & Microsoft policy when it came to DLC.
Sony & Microsoft want their share of DLC when it comes to money.
Capcom & Namco are nothing but second rate game company, and second rate game company follows the DLC policy.
There times that content has to be locked away for certain purpose from restyle, tweaking, saving for later ports, and to deliver the DLC on time.
Arcades has locked away characters too, mostly for the consoles.
Even if a person already paid $59.99 for a game, but DLC will always have a price tag as long as Sony & Microsoft exist with their policy.
@57 thats true of what you say about the Disc-Locked Content about HDD Space, however that type of content will still be charged because of Sony & Microsoft
Read most of the comments here, and can't believe a new argument is occurring about a game.
Firstly don't complain about TTT2 having an online pass, when most games these days are going that way. It about making sure the company can continue to run servers, and that people cant just give the game to a friend so they can play online.
Secondly your also complaining about DLC (Disk locked content). In the case of TTT2 its not so bad. Quoting Harada "Fighting games are like a game of chess. You can't take pieces off the board and charge for them or the game is not complete" (this is similar to what I remember). I can relate with the SFxT fiasco as they should not have made Disk LC to be paid for but TTT2 is not. Plus the characters are most likely disk locked for 2 reasons.
1. To save disk space on your console.
2. The characters are not complete but were allowed on disk to be patched apon completion.
@60 The stuff you said is true I have no problem with Online Pass & DLC being locked inside the disc, even some of the people that comments about thoes stuff needs to get a grip. Even if you say SFXT should not charge for DLC being locked away (I'm just saying), Even if the DLC is locked away that type of content from second rate game company like Capcom, Namco, & others will end up being charged for extra content. I already mention on my comment.
@61
I really wish Google had a translate option for what you're talking about. Last I checked 'crazy' wasn't on there.
@62
What I'm talking about is the reality of DLC when I meant by second rate game company, It was consider as second class while Sony & Microsoft are first class. I was spreading the truth about the DLC.
what's the point of having free on disk "DLC"? why lock it away when it's already done and then "release" it for free? I'm not saying they should charge for it like capcom, but seriously what's the point? btw. I think the online pass system is a good way to ensure some profit for the company. funny how people (InitialR) are stating that the company who makes the game should be making some kind of deals with gamestop etc...how is that even supposed to work?? there should be a law that forces anyone who sells a game to give some of the profit to the company...good luck with that :P the only downside to an online pass is that you can't use your copy of the game to go and play it at your friends home (online) which is a shame...but then again, if you're not alone you actually don't need to play online most of the time.
EDIT: one last thing about DLC in general:
the DLC is NOT the problem itself, whether it is already on disk or not isn't even relevant. making the DLC such an important factor (like capcom did with the character DLC) and basically force people into buying the DLC should not be happening. DLC should be extra content for hardcore fans that isn't related to the core game. capcom just invented a way to sell a new game for $80+.THIS is the reason why I didn't buy the game, especially after seeing that the gameplay would have needed some extra testing...funny how capcom decided to finish the DLC characters first and then after(!) releasing the game fix the core gameplay step by step.
How and why people keep insisting on revisiting this oft-beaten dead horse? Yes, perhaps Namco should have released these characters on Day 1, especially considering that they are already present yet locked on the disc. The same can be said about Capcom's additional characters for SFxT, but they shafted their fans without any lubrication whatsoever by charging them an additional $20, just so they can finally experience the game 100 percent.
I would like to engage others in a prolonged intellectual debate on this matter (and with the issue with online passes), but I think I'll pass. Back to playing TTT2, life goes on, etc.
Its never been about the Disc Lock Content. Everyone speaking in defense of SFxT as if trying to portray us as hypocrits does'nt know what they are talking about. ITs about locking content then forcing them to pay to have it rather it be completly new conttnt. Two big differences here is this is free DLC locked content. IT would be no different than a time release system like in the old MvC2 in the arcades as well as other games.
Its more insulting to lock content on disc then charge you for it later rather than making it complete.
As i've always said, quality vs. quantity and TTT2 has a lot of quality with that quantity imho.
@6
No no no,u got it wrong, there r a few ppl that solely complain about on disc content but that isn't the problem, content on disc means faster downloading n compatibility wit ppl who don't hav DLC, Harada didnt lie n say the characters r unfinished n take many months after release of the game 2 make the DLC available, they're probably at the moment testing out the characters n at the end of the day theyre free so who givs a f*kc n not 2 mention extra stages that a company,which I choose not 2 name in a post about Harada, failed 2 do till this day n Haradas game has full 3D models n stages that can actually interact wit those models,Harada deserves an award 4 such a beatiful game
Wow so the first half, well the majority rather, of this discussion has been basically
> DLC is bad if it's disc-locked content
> Everyone approves of this only because it's free
> Because everyone approves of it because it's free rather than us buying it, we are "cheap"
Well, I mean, of course! Not to sound like captain obvious but I would much rather something to be free than for me to buy what's already there! It doesn't matter if it's on the disc, on a server, in Harada's "secret stash" whatever it may be so long as I'm able to play what's already there without paying extra for it. If I'm considered "cheap" for it, then I'll be proud to be the cheapest, most poverty induced fighting gamer around! I take that as a compliment, nowhere near an insult lol!
Point is, this is stupid. People complain when content is on the disc and you have to pay for it, people complain when it's on the disc and you DON'T have to pay for it, people complain about online passes when it has been an ongoing thing for publishers for a while now. You can't please consumers for crap lol just play the damn game and chill out.
