AfterShock: Rivalry Reborn - NorCal vs. SoCal stream archive, results and extensive player statistics

IPlayWinner and UltraChenTV ran their AfterShock: Rivalry Reborn event yesterday from Santa Barbara, California. The live stream was provided by IPlayWinner and kicked off at around 1:30 p.m. PDT / 8:30 p.m. GMT.

Some of the best players from both Northern and Southern California were assembled into teams to compete against each other in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and King of Fighters 13. Players featured on these teams include coL.cc|Filipino Champ, MC|X-Ray, MC|Honzo Gonzo, CVPR|CJ Showstopper, Combofiend, LXG|Infrit, AGE|Fanatiq, BT|Clockw0rk and more.

Socal will win easily. simply the better players (except for fanatiq; he's a fraud who loses to mike ross :3). F-Champ is the only hurdle to overcome.

uggghh they just announced that magus is gonna commentate with ultra david during the UMVC3 event! I cant f*cking stand magus! His bs insight is scrub tier at best. During EVO it was annoying hearing him talk over the other commentators like HE knew better. And i guess NorCal is gonna need some commentating love from somebody but Magus always tries to talk them up like they have dominant performances at every major or have hidden tech or that they aren't just some decent players at best (with the obvious exception of PR ROG and F. Champ)!

I guess what im getting at is... Magus needs to be replaced for somebody that doesnt suck. Ugghhh and dont get me started on those loser black and white glasses he wears. Dude sucks hard, im sorry.

Combofiend needs to drop She-Hulk I respect him for trying to make her work but she just cant compete with the Wesker, Virgils, Magnetos, etc etc.I feel like he is playing 2v3 almost every game with Spencer and Taskmaster having to put in work to bring him back.Put Nova on point drop her and run Nova, Task, Spencer.

Even though there wasn't a RIVALRY, like in a "bad blood" sense, this was one of the most hype events of the year. Can't wait for the West x East showdown.

This tournament was SO good.

I thought SoCal would take it for Marvel, but it's not a huge surprise they didn't. Nobody should be surprised that Honzo, Drew, and KBeast were big time sleepers in this tournament. Honzo is maybe the very best Taskmaster player in the states and Drew's Viper play and overall team synergy is ridiculous.

Some good matches and big upsets in this too. F Champ looked pretty bad running Team Jean and I don't even want to talk about Combofiend. I just don't think he's very motivated anymore. Wentinel beating Drew was pretty big. I felt like he, Y2J, and GCYoshi were going to be bigger factors in this.

Great tournament. Was happy to see this go well.
