@ #3 actually yeah practically lol Slim Bob is actually a joke from Bob's T6 ending, Miharu was a special costume for Xiaoyu in T4, Violet was special costume for Lee in T4 (he was in disguise as he was absent in T3), Dr. B was a joke character in T3, and Sebastian having Lili's fighting stance is obviously Japanese humor being Japanese.

Of course Unknown is the only real character there, but if she's anything like her Tag 1 incarnation well...she'll essentially be another Mokujin/Tetsujin/Combot.

@ #5 Miharu is just Xiaoyu's best friend from school (she is a special costume swap for Xiao in T4)

Namco likes making variants of characters. It helps lazy people like me who only plays Asuka (somewhat ok).

@5 Miharu was a special costume for Xiaoyu. She is basically a palette swap. Story-wise she is a friend of Xiao.

@hyperviperNZ miharu is xiaoyu's best friend in the tekken storyline.she was also playable in t4 as a pallete for xiaoyu.

Unknown is a beast this time. She is the final boss for arcade. tough match

Ok on a serious note if sells don't meet expectations, there is no justice in this world.

I can confirm that there is no dlc container for these characters on partnernet. With that said, these characters may be incomplete (anyone remember skarlet with no special moves on the mortal kombat disc?) or will be released at a later date.

That's the best guess I have. It's also possible that they stopped uploading dlc early on partnernet but I doubt it.

Seriously guys. There's one day left to the US release. Why can't we who lovd tekken just enjoy the full experience without spoilers?

Ok Eventhubs. How about a spoiler alert for these types of revealing stories? I have to assume that there is a small number of people that want to enjoy the surprise of game content unlocks/releases. Sheesh.

There's not a worse feeling of coming to EH for some easy reading and and being blasted with that kind of reveal, especially since it is clear that this is free content to be made available later on. Its one thing to warn players of paid DLC on disk. Its another to spit in the face of "old skool character unlocks" and just let the cat out of the bag, THE DAY BEFORE RELEASE! Dammit, I feel like I saw the 70 year old neighbor lady naked. blech! My eyes! My eyes!

I'm pretty old school. I like unlocking and learning the awesomeness of the game as I'm playing it, seeing this is equivalent to finding out the Christmas present were from your moms. Kinda takes away the joy.

I know its game news, but even game news stories can warn the reader of content before having the reader endulge. Many other successful news feeds do it. Its a valid and resonable technique. Just making a suggestion for the future. I am usually an observer on here, but if this is all it takes to call out the flamers, I'll go back observing.

Too many characters? Let's start by removing the favorite characters of those who complained about there being too many characters.

Considering this is a tag game, and people might want to choose two characters with similar styles, i don't see ANY PROBLEM with clones.
Stop whining. 60 characters, more than 24 stages, no paid DLC. (except music and endings from older Tekken games, but those are not essential to TTT2)

If you want to complain about a game, go play SFxT.

Pallet swaps are fine in a game like this. Because every character is in it. This is amazing. However only thing I hope for is that Sebastion does NOT keep Lili's moves (would look VERY bizarre). As for the person who wants Dr. B on his feet I say NOOOOO lol.

That's what made him fun in the first game, and any pro using him and wanting him on his feet should have the know how to keep him on them.

Don'r really agree with clones, i hope they have some key diferences because it feels dull to pick two of the same character on a tag team game. But i am VERY happy about Boskonovitch and will be really disapointed if he doesn't play like he did on T3.

One last note: I don't get why people are still a bit b1tchy about clones. By now one way, or the other each and every single one of you have loved, liked, used, learned and main a clone character. I for one say that clones characters are always welcomed. And they are of some importance, because, even if the playstyle is the same, the design of the character can become the reason of you selecting such character. Those who don't like Ryu, might like Ken and those who don't like Subzero prefer Scorpion.

@Xykes - they're likely mostly clones with a new or unique move here or there, with of course the exception of Dr. B. he'll definitely be unique, and if he's anything like his T3 incarnation he'll spend a lot of time lying on the floor lol.

I don't mind too much if they're clones since the roster is already huge and fairly diverse. Wouldn't be very surprised to be sure.

but i have always thought tekken was generally a casual game, as i do not know anyone that plays any tekken game competatively, i know some that know the game pretty well but nothing compared to sf knowledge, but thats just me.

but ive noticed generally the comments on this site for tekken post are generally small, i will keep my eye out on this post though as the announcement is pretty big, im predicting probably 100-150 comments which isn't a lot considering the announcement, is this because this is more of a sf 2D website? or is it because the game is generally a casual game and lacks a big high level community?

can i ask if your a EU ps3 user can you just show some hands so i can see what lobby potential could be like, thanks!

I always enjoyed the Tekken lore and thought it had some of the best character designs of all the fighters, but I never played a Tekken since I've been more serious about learning fighters. And I think we can put the lack of Tekken buzz down to the fact none of the games have their own section on EH (yet? :3), which can be said for MK as well I think.

Thus, people don't generally come here for Tekken news and in turn we don't share knowledge amongst ourselves. I've enjoyed Tag 2's coverage on here though. You know my ID, so if you ever get a hype lobby going, drop us a message or something :)

@78 Actually they're still relevant because people love to complain about them all over the place still. Almost every sfxt related post gets 100+ comments. There's no such thing as bad publicity. Whether you support them or hate on them, you're keeping them relevant.

The only person harada is missing is Eddy gordo teacher, who taught Eddy Capoeira and who's Christie's grandfather, who then later was train by Eddy gordo. even though Eddy teacher died from illness, it would be nice to have him as a alt character for Eddy like these characters up there. but other than that it isn't a big deal, Harada and his team work their butt off.

I'm pretty hype for Dr. B and Miharu, although I can't help but feel that Ganryu from his Tekken 6 ending would've been more fun than Slim Bob, but we'll have to wait and see...

for me capcom will always make better fighters, street fighter has always been my game, its in my blood! but i would love capcom to focus on misc stuff like stages, music, customisation etc a bit more, but for me its all about game play and for me capcom hits that nail firmly on its head!. tekken has never made sense to me, but saying that i tend to hate 3D fighters, i would actually prefer to play MK over tekken but thats from a casual perspective. this game looks great but as a non-tekken fan i doubt i'll be picking it up but i wish it good luck, it deserves it!

As much of a fan I am of SFxT..... Namco just bitch slapped Capcom and showed them how "DLC on disc" is done. No one should be outraged at all at Namco, nor should they compare this to the SFxT fiasco.

Now... If Namco were to charge for these characters (of course they are not) , then we'd have problems, these are essentially palette swaps so there shouldn't be a charge.

you must be happy as fcuk lol this is how i felt when sf4 was about to land loool i only play tekken at xmas parties its by no doubt the best button basher known to man kind! lol but yes i have been told the game can be played at a very very high level, what you like at tekken games are you hardcore or just a casual player?

@handsofgod Haha yeah I am soo excited, Tekken 3 was one of the first games I ever played and i've followed the series since :) I was a casual player until Tekken 6 where I started to explore juggles etc. :D It can be played at a high level but it's more known to be a button masher unfortunately lol. It's a shame because it's actually very complex to learn because the movesets are huge.

@dblock Namco is no stranger to ondiskdlc since sv4 & 5 have ondisk dlc which you have to pay for. Namco does paid ondiskdlc.
