Mike Z made a post on the SRK Skullgirls forums giving some additional patch notes for the upcoming patch. These changes based on adding some more "fun stuff" to the game which changes some move properties. It's been a loooooooooong wait (not that the wait is OVER yet...) so these changes are based on adding some slightly more fun stuff for everyone in the vein of Filia's airball dash cancel and Fortune's rekka-overhead super cancel.
Peacock - can supercancel teleport recovery anytime, even before she's vulnerable, not from fake teleports; can cancel Georges into each other as soon as the bomb is created, like Parasoul's tear toss; Peacock's recovery after putting out Lenny is 5f faster.
Cerebella - longer supercancel time on j.D+MP; can cancel Ultimate Showstopper into DP+MP right before the last hit, sacrificing damage but allowing combos, scales followup damage to 33%.
Valentine - allow movement and actions after air scalpel super.
Painwheel - can fly-cancel scythe grabs on hit. Scythe hitboxes adjusted, air versions and ground LK version will grab from closer.
Mike Z/Konami/anyone pls just release the patch already.
This game is way more dead than SFxT is and possibly ever will.
And not that I care, mind you, but I wanted a change of pace, considering how everyone seems to need to remind us that.
Waiting for the patch over here.
Can't wait to have fun with the updated characters.
INb4 AnaboliChris comes parading in and say:
BEST GAEM EVA
seriously though,
this game was fun for about a week.
There are a ton of games out there right now that are better than this. (SFxT included)
I love this game so much, but I feel like it needs a better update. 2-4 more characters would be great.
So Bella can cancel her Hyper Throw into Devil Horns? Well it makes the move more viable, but I'm gonna have to hit the lab to see what damaging combos it can lead to.
Give it time guys. It's not like the patch and new characters were already on the disc or anything.
And calling this game dead is like calling an eight year old stupid. There's obviously so much growing left to do. From what I've seen, there are still enough potential characters in this franchise to fill up every slot of the MvC2 roster. I'm sure they'll stick with the game as long as they can.
Better late then never. Would not mind a non placeholder date on Pc release.

Couldn't have said it any better.
I've been to enough conventions this year working as a vendor to tell you that this game still has a loyal fan/player base. Game rooms have it up on the big screen TV's and cos-players are all over the place.
The audience is there for this game and Reverge will continue to make content for them as long as the procedural business side of things don't slow them down.
Great job on upcoming patch, I really can't wait to try out Filia after patch.. I know shes going to have so many tricks now.
@People hating on skullgirls.
This game was 15 bucks yet you're getting quality work at every inch.
This game makes sense gameplay-wise.(aside from a few bugs which is understandable considering the team behind this game was like.. 10 people compared to the army that Capcom possess.)
The upcoming patch includes more QoL changes and Free DLC. What can you say to a roster of 8 characters; each even more different from the next? What can you say about viability?
But i'm sure you can tell me how awesome using items(gems) in a fighting game are right? :D
I can understand liking a game and defending it to death , but that whole "my roster is 10 or so unique and QUALITY characters over your generic 40-50" argument is getting out of hand ever since blazblue CT .
Regular fighters have usually the exact same amount of different and unique characters ON TOP of the clones and rehash . At least they have the option to choose between the two .
Dont get salty and stop hiding behind that lame "quality over quantity" fake argument . Especially when you are hoping the roster increases , as it most likely will
@Zarathos
But they are actually unique, like Guilty Gear, Blazblue and Persona, each character have their own quirky mechanic. I don't own the game (not a fan of these type of games, too niche for me) but I've seen enough of this game on Ultrachen.tv youtube edition to confirm this is the case. Other games don't compare in this area.
Anyway, I think the lack of males did it in.
This is a quality game, especially considering the low price. However, I only pick this up every now and then for casual play and not much more than that. The issue for me is that there aren't enough characters here to keep it fresh. I've had a taste of games with larger rosters and now for me the days of original SFII are long gone. I get tired of fighting the same opponents so frequently. Before this came out I paid full price for some other fun quality games that offer more content on disc and through DLC and I'm not going to turn away from my investment for the smaller game that's slow to grow.
Hopefully this game will have a few DLC characters out there soon. I'd love to see this game evolve and grow.
@15
People call it dead because there's such a small number of people even playing it anymore. If you can't see that, then you're probably not even paying attention to the competitive scene in the first place. It feels like there's more people arguing against the game being dead than there are actually going out and showing their support by playing it.
The patch is taking forever to be released despite already being complete so don't even bother with the "it takes time" argument. The patch is done. WNF has been using it for months now. While the patch is being reviewed/approved/whatever at a snail's pace, an already small community is dwindling even more. Why should people just sit on their hands and wait for a patch, DLC, and PC port that have no set dates or even ballpark estimations when there's plenty of other games to move on to?
@27
I agree, and while I still stand by and say that the game is amazing; the number of people in my area(including myself) who go to locals with this game is incredibly small.
There are "more" games out there to play while waiting on a patch but I was doing that before Skullgirls was even released to public.
But hey; I'll rather play a game with people who know what they are doing than play against a bunch of scrubs who can't even tell me what's negative edge.
@27 "It takes time" isn't an argument, it's a reality. I think some of us are underestimating how much of a niche genre fighting games really are.
It's silly to call Skullgirls dead when it's barely been alive to begin with. If you look at the list of new fighting games in the last couple years, Skullgirls is one of very few brand new IPs, and has probably been the most successful of those already.
You can't forget that in the hardcore scene, we're still comparing Skullgirls to games like SF and Tekken, which are basically cornerstones of the whole genre. It's like comparing Super Meat Boy to Mario and Sonic. The fact that Reverge doesn't need to throw a party every time the game appears on a front page somewhere, is an actual achievement.
New ideas take time to flourish, sometimes years. I never saw anybody play Guilty Gear until GGX came out. Heck, most Mario fans never even bothered to play the first Mario Bros. Apparently Skullgirls just needs to develop some more before it gets more mainstream appeal. That's just the way it works.
I think Skullgirls could pick up steam if they really work on it. I was tempted to buy it however I WILL NOT with Parasoul as a charge character.
Yet I'm sure if they work on it, release more characters, build up the name more like myself could be talked into it.
Played the patched version and I like the changes so far. Cerabella is still a pain in the ass but dealable lol X3
