For the record, regarding the UMVC3 top8 we'll see on Friday, the best French Player CDV|WhiteBl4ck (Top32 at EVO this year, and Winner of the WGC2012 against Zak Benett), won't be able to attend the finals, but won almost all qualifiers spot. ^^

So it will be interesting to see who will emerge from the French UMVC3 scene when the "king" is out for business. xD

I hope our competitors will show decent level of play to the international community. We have a small scene, but our love and dedication to the game is great !

Congrats ahead of time to Alioune on the win. He is probably EU's only decent player who can complete with JP/USA in AE on a tournament level.

Actually, I wanna see some blowouts! (and by that I mean something like SBA Kbrad vs Infiltration level blowouts)

Like what if the known top players with a whole bunch of fans were to get stomped by someone no one knows about? I think there's a lot more talent waiting to be discovered in the EU scene.

Alioune, the guy that spends too much time researching unblockables in training mode but can't apply any of them on a real match.

The play in grand finals was just awful. Euro is gonna get bodied. I don't know how Starnab couldn't win consdering all the free combo chances he was given by Ali's dropped combos left and right....just bad.

Oh wait, after checking ken-bogard twitter, this tournament is about getting a two qualification spot for the real european SF 25th ann. tournament.

So Alioune is not qualified yet for the San fransisco final, well it's just a matter of time.

Anyone who thinks that European players can't stand up to American and Japanese players, please shut up because you have NO idea what you're talking about. I don't see any American players showing up to any European majors apart from Dieminion. The fact is that there will be top level playes from ALL OVER the world, but they can't afford to travel halfway across the world to America for EVO. It's somewhat hypocritical when 90% of Americans don't even have a damn passport. Just because you happen to be American and most of the major international tournaments are held on your home soil, it doesn't give you the right to talk trash about players you've never played who live in parts of the world you've never travelled to, and make comments about people dropping combos etc. in a grand finals match....because Japanese and American players NEVER do that do they? Oh wait....

Luffy is a godlike player too - He just didn't play well here, he's definitely street ahead by far the best Rose in the world.

Luffy the best rose in the world?

A piece of advice, take a look at Sako and Kawaguchi Rose.

Alioune was dominant in the French qualifiers it would appear, but will his nerves hold out in the real qualifier tomorrow? Skatan, Problem X, Andreas, Starnab & V-Ryu are all pretty strong players and can beat him, so there won't be room for jitters or chokes tomorrow.

Don't know if Europe takes sfxt seriously or not and I don't follow that game so it's hard for me to say if he has any real competition there.

Luffy just lost to Alioune 2-1, it was a close game. Too bad there is only one of them who passed.

But, I don't agree, levels aren't too different, especially regarding to Sako's Rose. He also plays Cammy and Ibuki. Sako is probably a better player, but I'm not sure his Rose is better than Luffy's. And I think he's better than Kawaguchi, who used to play Cody.

@ gatts

I stand by what I said - I've been watching for years and I've never seen a better Rose than Luffy - Those you talked about are very good but not as good as Luffy IMO.
