No one else salty about the subscribe only archives? As someone who lives 15hrs+ mountain time and therefore live and die by archives as a general rule it's kinda hard to watch the free live stream continously.

As a tourney that vaunts itself as the most international (next to evo) due to the flavor of it's particpants it seems a bit strange that they make the archive ppv and withhold it for 2 weeks for none subscribers.

Yeah, go ahead and hold it back for a day or two but 2 weeks...?

Anyway that's my 2 cents.

#12
AnaboliChris said on October 26, 2012 at 2:51 p.m.

#10, its not strange..They want to hold the archives for two weeks so they can upload the footage to youtube and monetize it. They'll profit from Stream subscribers then force the non subscribers to watch the youtube videos since the archives are locked and they'll also profit from those views.

Its all about the $$$$$$$$$$$$$

@10: i live in 15+ hours and i have no problem watching the stream, just sleep early and wake up at 3-4am. also, the archives will be up completely free after 2 weeks so i dont see the problem there.

You're joking right? I don't think Kaz will be able to take this one even if he uses both Seth and Yun.

The only way he'll win is if he has som surprise up his sleave, such as mastering Zangief behind people's back. HaHa.

#26
spotlesseden said on October 26, 2012 at 9:03 p.m.

@22

we will see. Gief will never win a major. I don't see why should he learn gief. counterpick is overrated.
Kazunoko all the way. I think only Fuudo can beat him.

#27
fireinthehole said on October 26, 2012 at 9:17 p.m.

@27

LOL. I didn't even know I wrote Zangief in Comment #22. I was thinking of Balrog. And yes, Fuudo is definitely a major obstacle for Kaz in this tourny. Kaz has been losing out to Fuudo lately and he should have practiced with Boxer since Boxer is a good counterpick agains Fei.

BTW, SnakeEyez won a major (a pretty significant one) using Zangief just last week.

#28
spotlesseden said on October 26, 2012 at 9:36 p.m.

I didn't know SnakeEye won a major. I though he only qualified for the major.

#32
fireinthehole said on October 26, 2012 at 9:53 p.m.

@29

Well that is true. SnakeEyez won the Los Angeles qualifiers for the 25th Anniversary, which is the main event. Though, many people consider the LA Qualifiers to be a "major" in itself due to high number of top players that attended it.

BTW, do youknow what happened to Kazunoko?!?! is he still in AE-2012?

#33

well, whatever. It looks like people think every tournament is major nowadays even a qualifier.

#17 yeah man i cant wait to see some of those hard to do Wolverine combos instead of Morrigan Brudda man. I hate spammers who just spam instead of really fighting instead of combos omg. Cool.

Is Tokido eliminated from SFxT? Who did it?

Bonchan is the best Sagat. Every time I watch him I'm impressed.

#51
gatts12 said on October 27, 2012 at 6:11 a.m.

Kazunoko has small chance to win it, not only because feilong is a serious threat, but sagat one of his worst matchup is played by his best representative in the world, Kazu must pray that he will not go against bonchan.

Anyway i hope that Mago will take it, he must be used to pressure by now, lets hope for the resurrection of the 2Dgod.

#52
SabishiiRyuu said on October 27, 2012 at 6:17 a.m.

The 480p is not locked. 720p is subscriber only.

I'm with gatts12. I'm hoping Mago can finally take a major. But I'm also rooting for Bonchan. He's the most harmless guy in the FGC. Very hard to root against.

#53
KingLawXXI said on October 27, 2012 at 6:20 a.m.

I wish eventhubs would add timezones. The TTT2 is supposed to start at 1pm, but that might be different depending on where you live.

#54
gatts12 said on October 27, 2012 at 6:29 a.m.

"All times PDT (Pacific Daylight Time). For EDT add three hours and for GMT, add 7 hours to the times below."

You can do the conversion for your time zone.

"Chi-Rithy demon is Mike Ross?!? "

More like Honda is a really bad matchup for Cammy. Mike Ross got lucky he had to play a Cammy.

#56
gatts12 said on October 27, 2012 at 8:01 a.m.

By the way no one is surprised by the poor performance of tokido against Ricky, no vortex after a knockdown and no utlra 2 after a blocked Messiah, realy strange!

#57
umeshoryu89 said on October 27, 2012 at 8:07 a.m.

Wow Justin Wong going in! He made top 8 in most game, impressive. Top16 for AE too.

#58
DevilMaySpy said on October 27, 2012 at 8:27 a.m.

I'm surprised no one is talking about K-Brad's Marvel performance. His Dante is very underrated and he has some setups I've never seen prior to Season's Beatings. One of the few true Devil May Cry representatives.

brenosarkis said on October 27, 2012 at 8:43 a.m.

I can't watch it unless I pay 8.95, is that it? I thought I had to pay only if I wanted to watch it in 720p

So many players have to play so different games in a row. Gotta be hard to cope.

#73

Also, it seems that every one is so good at SSF4, that character match up starts becoming more of a factor in the outcome.

#77
spotlesseden said on October 27, 2012 at 12:29 p.m.

lol, it has nothing with winning evo. He made comeback that's all. I saw this many times with other players like Daigo, J wong, Ricky, Mike Ross, Tokido.

#78
WinstonChurchill said on October 27, 2012 at 12:35 p.m.

He's just giving '1' reason why he is EVO champ. Put the gun away and stop shooting people down :/

that's not the reason he won evo.

2 characters(gen and zangief) who have never won majors win majors in back to back weeks, despite all the hate capcom gets I love the way 2012's balance has ended up.

#90
InHaPhan said on October 27, 2012 at 2:42 p.m.

congratz xian for winning ssf4 ae singles, very fun gen to watch,
also a very well deserved victory if you see who he has beaten on his road to victory

#91
NvhA said on October 27, 2012 at 2:45 p.m.

Congrats to Xian. From making his Gen debut a year ago in Canada Cup to coming back to win it as a more experienced Gen player shows what hard work can reward you.

Applause for Mago as well for going all the way and pushing Xian hard. Finally he's able to perform to his standard in foreign land. His 1st major will definitely come sooner than later.

#92
gaffel123 said on October 27, 2012 at 2:51 p.m.

just missed AE and now i gotta deal with the 8.95 bs.... FU*K

#93
xsickzackx said on October 27, 2012 at 2:52 p.m.

@kelshou #89: mike tyson had someone in his corner to help he see more clear between rounds.. anderson silva has people in his corner for the same exact reason. would you take any credit from their performances? theres no logic for the coaching hate whatsoever. its ubiquitous in sports.
an intelligent champion accepts any advantage within the confines of the rules.
consider that the final word on team mate coaching in sf.

#94
Chris_P_Links said on October 27, 2012 at 3:06 p.m.

Xian is pure class...seems like a very nice guy that enjoys growing and improving. Never mind seeing someone like him win a major especially using a character that is as entertaining and slept on as Gen. congrats to Xian!

UMvC3 top 8 should be entertaining as well...great tourny quit complaining about 8.95 and show some support

#95
the_truth said on October 27, 2012 at 3:27 p.m.

This is probably the biggest tournament outside of EVO & they lose money putting it on, God forbid they should recoup some money to go towards paying their costs.

I'm in the uk and i have to stay up till 6.30-7.00 am but it's worth the hassle, if you can't watch it live just pay the subscription and support Canada Cup. I swear the FGC is full of tightwads who expect everything spoon-fed to them absolutely free & Woe betide anyone who doesn't deliver exactly that.....losers!

#96
WinstonChurchill said on October 27, 2012 at 3:38 p.m.

@96 Don't know about that, CEO this year had a bigger turn out and a lot of top players.

#98
BaroqueObama said on October 27, 2012 at 3:55 p.m.

@96
I get your point, but CEO and Seasons Beatings are almost always bigger than this. This just has an unusually big international turnout.

#99
the_truth said on October 27, 2012 at 3:58 p.m.

@nusense

This is "PROBABLY" the biggest tournament outside of EVO.

Lets not get into semantics it's a great Major with the largest international presence outside of EVO, the international 5v5 makes the tournament a major draw.
