What is with this SFxT hate at this tournament! For once there are hype SFxT matches because people who actually knows how to play are in it! I call BS if we get top 32 of AE and only top 8 of SFxT. top 16 sfxt and top 32 AE would be a more appropriate balance!

Yesterday they did a good job of giving each game some pretty decent time on stream. There actually were some pretty good SFxT games, like Alex Valle vs Ryan Hunter (that was a real good match), but at the same time a few of the SFxT were very low level play that were pretty painful to watch. SSFIV is the game to watch, IMO. Chris King vs. Flash Metroid was an amazing match from yesterday.

@1 agreed

SFXT shouldn't even be a part of this 25th anniversary tournament, I better not see that $hit stinking up the stream unless there is literally no other matches being played, and even then, I'd rather they just play a commercial.

all the hate on SFxT is so stupid, its a good game and the upcoming patch is going to make it even better. its an honest fighting game since there are no ultras like in SF4, which are retarded since you get those for free by getting beat up in every round. SFxT had the bad start because of all these time outs + the gem system, but in the end its a great game and Im starting to like it even more than SF4

Hey man, SFxT is an undead zombie: people may say it's dead but it keeps coming back, hunting for your lot's brains! However, SFxT will no longer be a zombie and this is because the game is currently being fixed and Capcom the surgeons, are going to FULLY revive this game. And your right: Capcom ARE doing things right!

Thank you to Ultrachen. If I had come across that grand finals set on something like Yogaflame24 with no commentary I would have probably quit watching after a few matches. But their on the nose commentary turned what might have been a boring GF into one of the most exciting sets I have ever seen in any game.

I know people say that commentary isn't as important for fighters as it is for other stuff like RTS games, and that may be true; but this GF set showed what a HUGE difference expert informed commentary can make. I was literally on my feet for the majority of that GF set. It was INTENSE!

Thank you James and David

I love the salt Justin and Ricky spew on twitter immediately after losing to a bad matchup.

There are much worse matchups in the game than Rufus vs Zangief...Rufus can't just YOLO divekick everywhere and actually has to play patient and footsies...like Geif has to do.

Match were still hype as f*ck though considering how many wins were time overs. @36 is right as well, commentary made a huge difference.

Anyone else kind of feel that America's chances of winning AE2012 at San Francisco are depressingly low? Both Guile and Zangief are characters that can't surprise the foreigners while both Ricky and JWong have been struggling a lot lately in AE tourneys. Feels a lot like it'll be a three way fight between Fuudo/Daigo/Inflitration for the title.

Oh well, I sure hope that Law/Kuma player does well enough to win that car, would be hilarious and epic if that happens.

just like a few of us were saying, what about dem Cammys??

ChiRithy and KBrad just had good days prior. I don't expect to see them winning again against big competition. They are great players and certainly capable of winning but not likely. Cammys a top character, as Kazunoko even rated a long time ago, but it doesn't mean auto-win.

Another note: SnakeEyez = best Zangief???

@50 nobody ever said cammy was an "auto-win". ChiRithy and Kbrad might win a tournament next month, they are good players who play a good character. But that is also true of just about every top player in AE, there are so many good characters and so many good players. Nobody has been consistently winning tournaments in AE 2012 the way say, Wolfkrone was winning last year.

Just started waching the archive. That Ryan Hunter, PR Rog SFxT mach was intense! Heart breaker for Ryan though. I've played against him and Jibbo online a few times and got completely rocked by both of them. lol. Never got a chance to play against anyone like that is SF4. Gives me a new appreciation for how good these top tournament player are.

What an intense grand final between Snake Eyez and Justin Wong, great stuff. Snake Eyez deserved to win the SSF4 tournament. But, it's a shame that my main character, E Honda, didn't make it to the top 8. SFxT top 8 was great overall and I feel sorry for JiBbo, he just miss that opportunity to win the 1st game against Sethlolol. Ryan Hunter did well too, good showing by those 2 players.

I also liked Combofiend's Juila and Marduk and seeing him playing Marduk reminds me of Mike Ross, especially when those two players were playing SFxT as a team back then. As a Law player, I'm happy to see someone playing Law at the tournament. I'm not sure if anyone noticed this but look at SFxT's top 8? There 15 out of 16 different characters in the top 8 and not only that, it was all Tekken grand final. Amazing stuff, considering that many people were saying that many Tekken characters aren't good enough in SFxT.

Goes to show that fighting games needs to be explored a lot, not judging it within a month or so. Capcom panicked into making a balance patch, they should've released it next year. Remember, all Tekken characters are going to have an anti-air and they are going to be even more stronger. Overall, great tournament and it's nice to see players using gems.

Shoutouts to Ricky Ortiz, good player but still bro, you lost fair and square. I'm sorry you played aganist one of the few characters in the game who blows the bull*hit divekick -> frametrap -> throw strategy striaght to Hell but you did. Deal with it. Good *hit Snakeeyes, people may be familiar with Gief, but he punishes stupidity and bad decisions, something humanity will never run out of.
