I don't get how Tokido is competing in SFXT when hes already qualified.
@thegoldencat
I'm guessing here, but maybe Tokido is competing for the prizes, which are nice. And if he gets a top 2 spot, he'll forfeit it to the 3rd overall placer in SFxT, but still win the prize.
It wouldn't be a bad way of sorting it out, and maybe there was a loophole in the rules he got around when he entered the Brazil tournament.
Again, all speculation on my part, but yeah, I could see them doing it this way.
@Cat
Ah, that would explain it. Thanks.
I have never heard anyone more hype about SFXT than these commentators.
Tokido's lame game with Sim is simultaneously brilliant and horrible.
Japan tournament winners don't get to go the American final.
@Spotlessden
16 people qualify for AE and SFxT total for the grand finals in San Francisco.
Unless I'm missing something... according to the official website, there are 7 tournaments listed, and then there's the Japanese one playing out now: http://www.streetfighter25.com/en/tou..., which isn't listed there.
So the two more people in SFxT and AE v2012 will come from the Japan tournament, unless there's something I'm unaware of.
Wow a pad player makes it into SFXT grand finals....this is the first time I've seen a pad player at a Japanese tournament, makes me wonder how many other pad players there are for games such as SSF4 and TTT2, but they dont get the chance to play at some big tournaments because they use arcades.
@Catalyst
All i know is going to the US final is not one of the prize of the Japan tournament.
Capcom never said anything about "two more people in SFxT and AE v2012 will come from this Japan tournament."
Also, You are not allow to enter any tournament that you already qualified to just win prize, that's the official rule. J wong will not allow to enter 3s, and SFXT in LA qualifier
To clear up some earlier questions: All six winners and second places got invitations to the finals in SF (all expenses paid, woah).
Lol, daigo didn't even drop a game in top 8, proving why hes still the best in the world, hit me up with some replays
Daigo didn't lose a single game, that's badass.
MY Boy Daigo, doing what he does best!
Daigo is the "BEAST" Umehara, son!!!
According to Beast Note website;
"Prizes:
For winning the tournament, Umehara received shield (certificate), PlayStation Vita, PS Vita version of Street Fighter vs. Tekken, and an in-game title "Kami ni Chikazuitamono" (The person who is closest to God). (But that's downgrading since he is already called God of Fighting Games....)"
But yeah, I would also like to know if Daigo and Fuudo (1st and 2nd) will be sent to the San Francisco Finals.
Daigo is still really strong! Tokido gonna leave Cody for Akuma in SFxT 2013 since the 1st get nerfed but the second get buffed.
Tokidooooooo, Akuma is calling you back!!!!!
@30 ElectricBlanka
Oh yeah bro! you said it! Daigo is still number 1! And he's gonna win it all in the Grandest of finals!
Can someone please give MOV his 3rd strike prizes? That tourney is pointless...
Daigo is the best, most consistant player ever. Esspecially his Ryu which is on another planet (skillwise).
Why can't somebody record the footage and just distribute it privately or something, it's really annoying not being able to see this high level play without paying
Great Play by fuudo though he lost i think he played great in against rest of the competition, daigo seemed to have some read on him or something because fei is supposed to be ryu's 2nd worst match up
Fuudo has been the only Fei that has been consistently giving Daigo trouble this past couple years, I don't recall Daigo losing to any other Fei player at any tournaments, but it looks like he has found an answer to Fuudo now.
Daigo is back???? OMG Can't wait for the world championships. Looks like he's using Yun to cover Ryu's bad matchups.
Happy to see my most liked famous player win.with all the workhe puts in he deserves this!
@TheMasterPlayer
Hell yeah, Daigo got this. I'm calling it. Daigo vs Infiltration in Grand Finals. Daigo wins 3 to 0. He'll show him who's who.
diago the beast from the east, i got you in my scope
Daigo was never gone geez -_- ! he was among the few who defeated fuudo in the last topanga league , and he was always consistent you cant expect a guy to win every tournament he enters ! and like i said before fuudo has been the only consistent fei, mago kinda lost his touch specially at tournaments he chokes :P !
