Capcom registers trademark for 'Fighters of Capcom' - could a new vs. title be in the works?

Sounds more like some sort of documentary.

Behind the scenes footage of dev meetings and workplaces for SF4/Marvel 3/re-releases.
Archival footage, notes, art, etc. from the making of older games.
Interviews, that sort of thing.

Then again, maybe it is a Capcom-only fighter. If so, it shouldn't come out for a couple of years.

Also. Dr. Wily will be playable in it.

Well they did say Niitsuma is working on a new project, but wasn't that Jo Jo's Bizarre Adventure?

Any ways, I'm not hype at all and I don't expect any big surprises either because it's usually disappointment. If they did make a Capcom vs Capcom doing it similar to MvC 3 would be great as well as doing it similar to powerstone.

#2 I actually hope it's like Smash or PSASBR. We have SF4, MvC3, SFxT, and possibly a new DS. That's plenty of serious fighting games. I'm more than happy if they make a "get together with friends and have a great time" game in the vein of Power Stone.

I'd love a 2D fighter with simplified iphone-esque controls and the option to play a single character or a team, ala skullgirls. Speaking of, sad news over there.

Given that they only recently registered the trademark, I highly doubt whatever it is that Haunt is alluding to has anything to do with this.

A new fighting jam would work if capcom use new sprites so all characters can fit in the game. street fighter 3rd strike Alex and a giant dinosaur didn't mix well on the original fighting jam

I had an idea for a SF game called Scramble Fighters. It is a SF game based on SFxT scramble mode. In light of TTT2 and PlayStation All-Stars, I think Capcom needs an internal vs game. Personally, I would prefer a SF only game like TTT2 but I know other Capcom fans would want an entire Capcom fighting game. I think Capcom Fighting Jam was great in idea but bad in execution. I hope Fighters of Capcom is the Capcom vs Capcom game Sven have been advocating. I am already looking forward to Super Fighters of Capcom in 2013 :)

Well Capcom is running out of ideas, it could work.

This could be the surprise they have in store...but, that's just me since the name just got trademarked.

Though, I'm all for a new Capcom fighter with just Capcom characters. That would be awesome, and perhaps see characters we haven't see in a while like Leo (Red Earth) and Rouge (Power Stone). That's just me though heh.

Fighters Of Capcom......it will turn out to be a "free-to-play" MMO. Where you have to pay for costumes, and upgraded combo mechanisms like V-Ism, X-Ism and the like. You'll be limited to 3 hours a day, unless you pay another fee.

Didn't even read the comments, but I'm guessing most of them are Capcom vs. SNK 3 or Capcom vs. Capcom using Marvel 3's engine with miscellaneous allusions to Megaman and Powerstone scattered around.

CVS3!!!!!!!! or CvS2 HD with online, I would be so hyped if/when Capcom makes a new CvS they should go back to 2d sprites that would be sick.

If they have Ryota Niitsuma in the game then this might work. Just don't add any crappy gimmicks. I still think X-Factor wasn't necessary in the first place, simple mode should have been the only thing in there. Then again that's been in the previous vs games.

Either that or were finally going to get Capcom Fighting All Star that was cancelled long ago on the PS2

Keep Niitsuma FAR away from this. We don't want this turning into his personal wet dream of making a Dragon Ball Z fighter (see his original intentions for MvC3/UMvC3)

I think Nitsuma did fine with UMvsC3, though, in the end. I'd trust him with CapVCap.

YES! This is the game we've hounded Sven for over the last 2 years. He said he brought it up meetings with CofJapan, and with them adding 1000 to their internal team (nearly doubling it) I bet Ono's on DS4 and Nit is on Cap Vs. 'Can't wait!

Capcom vs SNK 2 HD Online Edition is a save bet, but I wouldn't mind a sequel or a Marvel-esque Capcom only game.

capcom vs capcom would be cool, though they would probably be more disc locked content....jk ssf4 engine with sfxtekken combos plus resets gives the recipie for a fantastic game.

capcom approached SNK for CvS2 rights to re-release for DLC version,
SNK counter offers to push for CvS3

When whatever game this is is announced, all of you on here will be following it with intentions of buying it, all of you are excited about this news, and all of you are waiting impatiently for more news on it. Quit fooling yourselves. I for one am excited about anything Capcom releases, they make good games, and if they make a game I don't like, I don't get butthurt about it and call them a terrible company, I just don't buy the game. It just seems like theyre holding out. We want something epic. When they add a new number in the series it gets hype. Remember when SF4 was coming out?

It feels like the VS series Capcom has been doing doesn't feel serious, like they aren't pushing their limits to max potential.

When they add a new number to the franchise they put in their A game. People know it's so early for that, yet I think everyone is waiting for it at the same time.

Why do we feel it's early for SF5? I'll tell you why. Because of Capcom's past history. The gap from SF3 to SF4 was more than 10 years. So we all say nah SF5 aint coming out until 2019. But why does it need to? Simply so they can bade their time and chock up more random VS games?

We say it's too earlyfor SF5, bc of Capcom's history. But look at their history now. They can't keep repeating the same mistakes and expecting to stay on top and keep fans.

I really hope its a Capcom vs. SNK 3 this time. A Capcom vs. Capcom will be good too, but I rather have CvS. If they do make a CvS3, I hope they don't make the roster mostly Street Fighter vs. King of Fighters. I hope they Mix up the Roster with Different series. If they made SFxT 56 characters, then they could do at least 60 for CvS3

Uh, the ones that fukked the game were the black-suited corporate a-holes from both parties, not Ono. I swear SFxT could well be called "Executive Meddling: The Videogame" and people would still think that's a more fitting name for it.

I may sound like someone with null insight on the game (like you did) but Niitsuma showed he has horrible management (stopped working on a popular game with game-breaking glitches and mechanics makes me think that). If somehow I'm getting my facts wrong I'd like to be corrected.

Putting all of the blame on people like Ono or Niitsuma for the mess their games are is normal, since they're paid for being the faces behind the game, but we're intelligent people and we have this wonderful tool called Internet; we may do a little research before that, so we could know what to expect and whatnot. I don't think they will be having a time as hard as working with 3rd parties, since both Darkstalkers and this new trademark are both Capcom original games. We can just wait and see.

I thought Ono had full creative control over SFxT. I don't want Capcom sticking their noses in because they want to keep adding cheap gimmicks. The gem system was a no deal thing for me, DLC characters added fuel to the fire.
