Perfect Legend: There is only one Kung Lao player, everyone else is just a bootleg copy - Evo 2012 champ lists best MK9 players by character

I liked MK9, probably the best one of the series, but there is a reason I traded it in and still have my venerable copy of SF4 and all its incarnations....

Is EventHubs slowly turning into Kotaku? I don't see a lot of value in this "story", considering it's mostly just trash talk from PL. I know it's an interview and all, but it's hardly insightful. Stick to posting combo videos, tournament results, and actual news on the front page, EH. You know, useful stuff.

@1 yea 5 years later/2 re-releases/patches lol. but im not gonna lie i also got rid of my MK for an even sh****** game (SFxT)

MK9 is the worst MK ever, not to mention broken as hell. As PL mentioned, how the hell can you have a character in game that only needs 1 good read and a bit of meter (...cough..Cyrax..), while most of the cast have to work like crazy to get a win ? All of those PL mentioned are high tier characters, I'm glad to see people like Shujinkydink who don't play retarded characters like Kung Lao, Smoke or Kabal.

so sick of PL, he loses and that character is automatically top tier and he'll say he wasn't ready or some other bs to take away credit from the player that beat him, he wins he brags about how hes the best and that his character sucks, also he thinks he knows everything about every fighting game possible and that he's right 110%, wish he would just shut up and play.

Is Perfect Legend not well liked? Every time I see or hear his name I'm reminded of the last Video x Games where the tournament organizer told him MK9 is trash and should be tossed in the trash. Not hating, just repeating.

To be fair, anyone who wants to seriously win at tournament level in this game HAS to pick top tier cheap characters. Guys like Pig and Shujinkydink have been part of the MK scene for years and are more likely to pick characters they actually like. But just like most fighting games these days, the top players will learn who are the cheapest, most abusable characters early on in the game's life, and then just whore the hell out of them until they're the best. You don't think Justin and Ricky pick Rufus for his good looks do you?!

If you play mk9 seriously, you know that PL's Kung Lao is just godlike. His raiden was also sick, but with kung lao he is just invincible. He broke down the character in a way that no one else even came close to. As far as him being arrogant, i dont care. All im saying is that his kung lao truly is amazing and there is no one in the world that can beat him.

Maybe if we all just flood the comment boxes of eventhubs with how we would rather see informative pieces posted we can stop having this trash on here.

As an MK player, yeah he may have won 2 times in a row... but looking at who he is using he doesn't earn any "bad a**" points with me. Use a character who isn't as scrubby and he would earn actual respect.

MK 9 isn't even close to be the most broken of the MK titles...n00bz say the darndest things.

Keeping all versions on SFIV means that you're a raving fanboy and there is no logical reason to have the very first SFIV. Super -AE has the ability to switch versions easily. Congrats proving you're how mindless you are.

@28 Yea obviously PL was the only person in the whole universe who only used Kung Lao in both EVo tourneys.... hmm it's weird he's the only Kung Lao to do those things.

This interview seems like it was just tossed together online as well (via sending the questions to PL and having him fill out the answers and send it back). All of the questions are well phrased; all of the answers are made to look like someone raging hard on MSN messenger.

And im not even a fan of MK. The game is clunky as hell but to each their own. Just saying. If anyone wins a tournament as huge as EVO, with the same character back-2-back years and you're still not impressed, you should do something else with your time. Twink. Yeah im being rude.

Try to understand this, he won a tournament that has more matches than any other tournament in the world and managed to come out on top TWICE!!! with Kung Lao who, if you haven't noticed, has been dropped after the patch(that has according to you, the random poster online, did nothing to his gameplay advantage)and still won. I know you're just a hater but please take this one home with you...until somebody beats him in the unanimously agreed world championship tournament, he can say whatever the hell he wants about MK9 and there is nothing you can do about it!
