@2
I don't know much about those two games but if I'm not mistaken, KOF has always been like that.
Personally, I like Skullgirls, it's a good game but my preference will always be Street Fighter.
I played a bit of KOF and it's also fun but again, I prefer SF.
I wouldn't say they're worse than SFxT. I actually think SFxT are worse than the two.
KOF is incredibly hype to watch, requires skill to play, is balanced, has no bugs, and has great variety. How you could think it's worse than SFxT is beyond me. Skullgirls is whatever.
:P I'd like to watch KoF13 if it had Whip.
But I enjoy watching all 2D fighting games. =D
I think any game that you don't play is going to be at least somewhat boring to watch. I know that SFxT in its current form isn't a good game, but it can be fun for me to watch if it's a good matchup because I still play it and I know what's going on, where many of those who dropped it early on don't. On the other hand, I don't play KOF so it just looks like a lot of bounding back and forth across the screen to me. I know it's deeper than that, but not how, so that's what it appears to be, which is not entertaining to me.
Then there's Skullgirls... it's a solid game for its budget with great concepts and could really grow with patches and some more characters, but in its current iteration I think most of its perceived "hype" is wishful thinking on the parts of its hardcore fans and those currently disenfranchised with Capcom, looking for anything to point to as being better.
Skullgirls was hype and had most viewers lol. Would like whatever your influenced on so i can skip a day of work

To be honest, I think that's at least part of it. A lot of people are feeling "betrayed" as it were, by Capcom - many of who wouldn't really play a non-Capcom game otherwise. So some are latching on to whatever isn't made by Capcom.
That's not to say they aren't latching on to quality games (ie., while it's not my cup of tea play-wise, SG is definitely a great game), but I really have to wonder how long this will actually last.
SF4, Skullgirls, and KoF are the only mainstream games worth playing right now.
I'm all for pushing Skullgirls and all, since Mike Z continues to listen to the feedback and its really a great bang for your buck at just $15. I just can't stomach watching SFxT from WNF and I'm wondering why do they keep pushing it.
Did Valle win SSF4 AE 2012¿ I passed out before the final matches, when do the justin.tv archives pop up¿ Or do we only get YouTube archives¿

@7 KOF XIII doesn't have any bugs? I don't know about that... http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm17946923
@25More character variety would really help sfxt, though you can't blame players for picking characters that have clear advantages, nobody wants to voluntarily handicap themselves.
I reckon smart move is to have some patience while the game gets patched and balanced, I'm sure the game will start to open up more as time goes on. I prefer to think as the current sfxt as a beta that had a rough landing. (I realize that's a major understatement).
SF X TK had a LOT of character Variety... look at the top 5
1. ER|Tatsu (Vega, Xiaoyu)
2. PXG|Snake Eyez (Zangief, Kazuya)
3. DMG|Online Tony (Hugo, Raven)
4. Hoolio (Nina, King)
5. LU|Alex Valle (Law, Ryu)
What's the fighting system like in KOF? we talking more lockdown and maneuverability based like Marvel? Or is it mix-ups/reversals/footsies etc. I'll give it a watch myself but it looks real alien to me, I know SF/MVC/Blazblue/MK9/Guilty Gear, but never touched a KOF game, no idea what's going on!
KOF requires you to know how to play defense and know how to maintain pressure and it does in a non-retarded way (Looking at you 10-frame SF4 Reversal Window). It is a good game with a high level of execution required. It's always been that way though.
@33 sounds very interesting, SF4 always has been very reversal heavy, a game where varied and intelligent defense is just as important as the offensive skill definitely sounds like my cup of tea. Thanks for the input, sounds like it's worth the learning curve.
KoF is fun, give it a whirl. I'm just glad there's still fighting games around. Don't let the opinion of the entitled contrarian kiddies keep you away from it.
Well if your going to plan on buying kof for online since your in a location with no scene you mine as well pass because they online is not good tried to give it multiple chances but it is just no one playing it or the connections are just really bad to the point of not wanting to invest time in the game.
