EventHubs member Emperor_Cow has created a very comprehensive Dead or Alive 5 Alpha tutorial series. In it he goes over the basics, the combos and the three-way attack system.

The game is being released on September 25th but these tutorials are a great way to prepare for the upcoming DoA sequel. Check the video description to see how you can also grab some premium demo codes for whatever system you would like.

This video links to all the others, so you can progress down the list to pick the part of the series that interests you the most.

This was an amazing tutorial. The way this was put together should set the standard for future vid tutorials. Excellent work Emperor_Cow!

It's pretty stupid that tekken tag 2 and DoA 5 are going to be released in the same month. Now I feel like I have to make a choise, while I really wanted to play both games.

This game looks and feels great. easily the best DoA game they made since they decide to go with a different direction to the series. wonder how the final build will play like? They need to keep up constant character/stage reveals until realease to keep up the hype they are trying to generate. Pretty Ballsy to do the release date close to ttt2 apparently but so far this game impressed me more then that game so this would be the priority buy for me

Also curious about the VF characters and how they would play in this game. They seem pretty natural in this game engine with the Akira Yuki gameplay footage they have so i guess we have to wait and see. This game is doing DLC which is a first but i believe its been said that the game has 6 costumes per character so as long as they don't pull off any ridiculous crap then i see no problems in that.

Actually Hooligan, DOA5 had its September release date long before TTT2. I guess Harada wanted to lessen the sales of DOA or just wasn't aware of DOA5 being released the same month. Either way it goes I'll be getting DOA5 also since not only does it has a different approach like you stated, but it's been almost 8 yrs since we've had a new DOA and after that time we had TK5DR, TK6, with TTT2 and TKxSF coming later down the line, so DOA is the fresh break away from my fighting game library being saturated with too much Tekken.

Oh and not that I mind Tekken because I'm going to get em all...but having a quality variety is always a plus.

Hooligan, Team Ninja and Sega announced that the VF cast will play "EXACTLY" the same as they do in their own game so no moves will be changed or altered from what they've stated.

Wondering how Akira will play in the Dead or Alive universe? Hayashi says that the character's commands are basically unchanged from VF.

This Emper0r guys seems like a sensible FGC'er. Hopefully he can talk some sense to a few outspoken DOA "hardcores" that think they know how a fighting games works, ESPECIALLY a DOA game.

I seriously don't which to pick up more. Tekken Tag 2 has got nostalgia going for it (played tekken tag to death). But I'm really interested in DOA5.

Is DOA5 tournament viable btw? It has it's gimmicks. (The stages)

@ 7 yeah it was actually DOA5 that had the September spot first, so its Harada that is the ballsy one lol but what ever i'm still getting both just d.o.a come first.

I think Virtual Fighter and DOA should make a game together in the style of Capcom vs SNK or SF vs Tekken, since both games look similar.

game looks amazing but damage seems way too high just like in 4. even with minimal damage, battles lasted just seconds.
