Capcom noted this morning on the Japanese Street Fighter X Tekken blog that the game would be patched around mid-June to address the Rolento glitch that freezes the game when his knife comes into contact with a projectile. mid june? ahh man would of liked it a bit sooner but im guessing capcom are trying to cram quite a bit into the next patch.
would be nice if the fgc would ease off the hahaha this game is now over attitude lol be patient please it is annoying but this sort of stuff does happen and im sure they didnt want to leave glitches like this in but due to the rush of things it can happen
Mid June? is that a joke? Are they just going to ban Rolento until then? Capcom man you guys are really screwing up on this one.
ok negative comments towards this game is getting old if you don't like the game do capcom a favor and trade it in
just as i expected, another apology from cashcom, just start making sf5 already will ya?
A game-breaking, console-freezing, MAJOR bug with one of the most used characters...and they're taking another month to fix it.
How can people defend them after this?!
@8
They have to fix the problem, make sure it works and get it approved for download. That takes a lot longer than a day or two. And they're putting other balances changes in as well.
Talk about digging yourself a deeper hole. Even though I don't play this game it's totally unacceptable to wait until mid June. This probablly shows the amount of time Capcom are spending on fixing / improving this game = Not a lot of time or effort.
This glitch is an actual game breaker and not good for consoles. I'm not sure if I'm right but it looks like if this glitch occurs you have to turn the console on / off - It's not good at all.
#15 - It's not really up to capcom when the patch comes out. The way that game patches work for console is that, post dev time, they get sent to the console operators who THEN take, usually, 3-4 weeks to approve it for general release. Though it sucks, it's how the system works.
Just Give us the dlc for free way too many glitches and bugs
is unacceptable they should have delayed this game with this many issues it's a disgrace Capcom
sfxt= s--t x f--k'n
LMAO
you know what ive noticed, even though it seems that sfxt is much hated, i will say it seems like the only game to get a bloody load of comments hate or love this should show you the passion of love or hate for the game and they do say its a thin line between both so regardless if you hate the game its nice for capcom to see the passion for it
I don't know if i should be happy that they apologized or sad that they will fix it mid-june?
How can you not fix this bug in under a week? It's game crashing, console breaking, gameplay wrecking,world popping.
@ htownboss23
Don't get me wrong...I'm not having a go at you.
I'm pretty sure that everyone that purchased the game in the first place would count as doing Capcom a favor...
...but now they need to return that favour.
I gotta be honest...they need to at the LEAST..release the new characters for free after all this rubbish.
People have already forgotten about the 25k they gave away as first prize on their reality show, as well as all the merchandise given away just to promote the game when they already knew that they'd have a loyal fan base willing to pay top dollar on release day.
And they're still selling "DLC" for a game that isn't even complete!?
...I hope people are learning something from all this garbage...
i think a early release of the dlc chars either for free lol or at a reduced price would help us feel a lot better and it may turn the haters around
@Arrancar
that's because microsoft and sony were losing money too.
I understand the QA process. Believe me it's my job to roll out software and am well aware how crap like this can slip through (usually as a result of fixing some other mundane bug). I also understand that getting a new patch out to fix the glitch is a drawn out process. You don't want to roll back months of work and you don't want your re-fix to cause something even more catastrophic. I understand all of this, but Capcom doesn't seam to understand that this breaks their game and makes it unplayable.
At the very least Capcom should put a full stop to the rollout of 1.04 and every new console looking for an update should only be given 1.03. This way consoles with 1.04 can just re-install and re-update to 1.03. The only other option is to uninstall to vanilla
@10
But thats the thing. Alot of us that are hating on this game really want to love the game. its just that capcom is making it really really difficult. i have been a long time capcom follower since i was born and to be honest, my first tekken game ever played was tekken 6. I find myself playing tekken 6 over this thing they tried to pass off as a game. This is not a capcom quality product at all. This game pretty much sucks. Yes alot of you are going to say "oh but the game is fun." Fun? It being fun doesnt make it a good game. You can have fun fighting all you want but at the end of the day, a half assed customization mode, Rollback online crap, and once again a story mode that was promised that wasnt included in the game, and not to mention stupid, dumb, not thoughtout assist gems, this game is like taking one step forward, and two steps back.
LOL I just can't believe there people defending this crap what tools.
Oh my..../facepalm. The amount of times they've screwed up with this game is beyond my comprehension. Some of you guys give a whole new definition to "Loyal fans" and that's the nice way of putting it. Still haven't found a reason to purchase this hassle yet...
Mid-june? Oh come on! I ain't waiting that long. Scrap that.
@33
You mad cause I said the game is dying go cry me a river is a dam fact just look at the fans in this website there not please what capcom did to the consumer with a half a** made game.
Mid june is not as bad as i thought.. you will prob find the problem with the delay is the fact it has to be sent to Sony and MS for them to check it, then schedule it in for download etc etc, there is a lot of other factors not just how long it takes to find the bug and change the code etc
Malda isn't too bright but then again this is his schtick.
How else will we be able to locate the trollish moron?
To everyone else complaining. Think about it. It's not physically possible to patch the glitch that quickly..or else another would crop up.
Do you guys not have any other fighters/games to occupy your time with?
@32
Oh, Malda. Why did you come back? Your posts always make me little dumber. As for the game, Capcom has completely screwed up things with their fans, cuz ppl will crucify you for EVERY mistake you make. I actually feel sorry for them. Im sure they're busting their butts to fix the game. They seem to have faith that it'll end up competing with future fightng contenders. I traded in my copy about a month or two ago, but I'll keep my eye on what they end up doing to the game, that'll determine whether or not I buy it back. Kinda getting tired of fighting games anyways, there's too many.
@34
But you have a reason to read and comment on all the articles?
This is a perfect example of why rushing games out to meet deadlines is just about the stupidest thing you could do. It always ends up backfiring because people will find all these problems with your product once it hits shelves. This is exactly why Midway went backrupt, but it seems like other companies are either too stubborn or just do not care to learn from history's past mistakes.
imo sfxt is a really good game, i dont seem to see a big problem with the flaws barring the new patch crash lol and i believe when the flaws are dealt with them mate, this game is gonna be sicko!!! lol mark my words i know a good fighting game when i play one especially when its a sf game.
have to shout i208khonsu good idea mate would be nice to switch back over to the previous version
if anyone has problems with the game i would love to discuss them with you please address me and we can get it on... no homo lol
so what are we supposed to do until then?
not play the game?
mr pyro what about the sf4 series that has definitely brought out a dream for some on a console system, please give it time and when all the problems have been dealt with this game will be a dream just like its brother sf4
@thisguyrighthere
i would suggest playing the game without rolento, a little sad but hay thats whats probably best or just hit up another game till the patch or train or if you know who your playing then use rolento if there is no projectile chars
what a horrible game,its almost like capcom is proactively killing their own game.
then again if my gf were to give birth to a two headed retard baby with both heads looking like her brother i would kill it too.
HAHAHAHA! A moth to fix a game breaking glitch? Other companies would've done the update within a week and thats a f*cking fact.
I been dabbling with Paul Phoenix and boy does he need some attention in this game. I like the character but he lack certain functions of the game that make him a viable sfxt character. He plays has if he should be in ssf4. Patch poor Phoenix Capcom, so he can stand his own against top tier characters. I also feel the same for Bob.
@tensa that would make me very happy very very happy and it would make sense
Why do everyone act like every game is going to end with the game crashing?
I suppose there will be a lot of trolls though.
Capcom needs to get it out a.s.a.p. They already in hot water. They'll be in lava if bad news keeps coming out. Even if it's unintentional. C'est la vie.
You can't bother pleasing these people.
Glitches happen in games, people. No matter how long you work on them, glitches will occur. They may be minor, like the sound glitch, or they may be major, like this Rolento glitch.
As others have said, the process to fix glitches taking so long is the fault of the companies like Microsoft and Sony, not Capcom. There is no magic patch button in the R&D offices.
So just deal with it in the meantime, or go play something else. No one wants to hear you whine endlessly about how you hate the game.
@61
I use Rolento. I heard the game also crashes if you hit Ibuki out of her Super at any point.
Also LOL @ People hating on MALDA. You can't deny he says what most people are feeling. You also can't deny the chance to say something to him and get trolled.
@ 45- "All these articles" is a broad over-statement. Unlike some people, I don't have a personal vendetta with the game. This is probably my 3rd comment about the game on this site, since it's release. Seems to me that players enjoyed being slapped repeatedly with a wet fish. It seems this kind of thing, only happens in the gaming community because the vast majority are more than willing to bend over and smile.
"just as i expected, another apology from cashcom, just start making sf5 already will ya?"
This right here is crazy. Would you rather they say "fvck y'all" and keep it movin? They're trying to fix a mistake, and they're saying sorry for the screw up. How in the world do you complain about something like that? The haterade here is impressive.
Game is fun.
or Fun to hate.
You decide what you like better really.
I say its fun.
@66
It's fun to hate. I quit playing it weeks ago and my life has gotten brighter. I've been gotten all sorts of sugar walls to coat my mushroom tip. Work has been exceptionally well and I've received a promotion with a wonderful raise in pay. My social life has blossomed and I've met all sorts of great, new people.
My life got way better when I quit playing this game. I'm being dead serious.
@64
That would probably be because games are the only products that can have these kinds of problems. Are you saying computer software doesn't crash? Or cause viruses? If it has coding in it like games do I'm sure other communities deal with such things as well.
The game is a train wreck. Even without glitches, it's fundamentally challenged. And to all you weak a$$ snitches who are defending these game-breaking problems - NO! THEY DO NOT happen all the time in other games. The last time a game froze that I could remember was SF2 - Guile freeze- and that was actually HARD to do.
These wieners on this project team should consider harikari - harakiri for you jap wannabees. In My OPinion.
ps - watch for new and exciting glitches in mid-June!!
@draw I feel what you're saying about the DLC characters that would be a waste especially if they might add a few more beyond the 12 on top of that one thing I do hate about that game is when you tag someone that person have to get hit with whatever attack is being dished out without blocking
no one is defending the glitch were just saying it happens, instead of crying about it we embrace the fact that capcom have apologies and are doing their best to fix it
@69
Have you not played a Bethesda game before? I don't know how exactly to pull these off, but there is definitely other games that have console-freezing bugs in them. I have never played a GTA game that DIDN'T freeze at least 3 times on me from I don't know what, so this is nowhere near exclusive to SFxT. I just don't understand how they didn't catch it, it seems like they would have noticed this in play testing. People acting like this is the only big budget game to have such problems are out of their minds, though.
@gtfopanda
There's more? I thought they already put patch notes up here for the latest one? Or do you mean for the upcoming patch?
@htownboss23 please explain more regarding your tagging problem
I think there is, or if not it was mistranlated (which I doubt since it's a simple date).
I'll quote from here, http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2012/ma...
"Users: Please do something about the blockstun of jabs and aerial Hurricane Kicks.
Ayano: Looking into it. Please check after the balance patch on May 19th."
"Users: Blocking weak attacks from someone like Rolento is so frustrating!
Ayano: We're considering making big changes after the balance patch on May 19th, so be prepared."
And there's one more mention in that article, just search "19th"
i cant wait to watch evo and all 25 sfXt participants
what would be nice is if we could filter people comments sort of like the news feed, it would be nice to click on someones name and hit block therefore i dont need to see what there saying would be nice eventhubs please
@gtfopanda
Nice.
I wonder if this game freeze thing have altered those plans at all.
lol roughly a month full of Rolento trolls online... best not pick a fireball character...
@84
Absolutely!!!
I usually keep my lip closed if I have nothing nice to say. But last night I gave up over 200 Bp to Rolento Trolls that threw the knife 50xper round!
And I had already beaten like four other dudes trying to make this crap happen!
It's counts as a disconnect if they freeze the game. It takes at least a 100bp from you because the fu<king thing thinks you've rage quit!
Damn I'm pissed! Then after losing those points the game...
A) Would NOT give me another ranked fight (arcade req or otherwise)
B) Would eventually (5-10min later) match me against someone with 5x my Bp even though I set it for same skill!
Btw, the diagonal jump inputs are still not fixed.
I do like this game btw. Fix these problems.
@Handsofgod, CAPCOM is only trying to save what is left of this titanic nothing more. They are only trying to save face and cut their loses at this point.
They have screw up alot with this game, that should had been spectacular, but greed got in the way. The game end up paying for that. At the begining when the players complained for several reasons, CAPCOM gave us excuses after excuses without assuming the fault (Market saturation, technical problems of Xbox live, developing time, to aide the players).
At this point, players are tired of all of this. CAPCOM assume your responsability once and for all. Admit that wh

I didn't know Capcom was going the Sonic Team route when it came to releasing games to meet deadlines way before they are ready. While there are certainly going to be glitches that are unforeseen especially when patching a game, how could you not test for something that has a high probability of happening (projectile hits projectile)?
@hank1199
Like half the cast needs serious buffs. Poor Paul.
this game was made from scratch! so it's kinda understandable to see these things occur. It's not like a tekken who've been there since an eternety! Haters tend to forget that this game has only been here for two months. Pesonally with all the glitches, gems & timer issue this game still rules.
@von_kunlun_boof
if only you still played the game, then you can have proof that it does happen often.
Characters? Why is everyone is talking about Capcom giving the characters for free, as if it will solve the problems in the game? After you get the characters for free, what then? The Flaws in the game is still there and everyone will still find something to cry about. Nerf this character Nerf that character, lay the 12 character free DLC to rest its not happening. No matter how much I really do like this game Capcom really have a lot of cleaning to do with it.
@ #83
I wonder too, though I haven't bothered translating their blog entry.
From the EH snip though, it sounds like they'll be addressing it in a different patch.
Makes sense I guess, the stuff they're gonna announce tomorrow is probably set in stone by now and will be/is going through Microsoft/Sony's approval procedures.
@bigall i dont think capcom are anywhere near done with this title, the game is a very sick game good fun and has a lot of depth, there are a few problems but it wont be hard to deal with.
this si about how long i expected given that patches need to be approved by capcom it's self, then sony and microsoft who then charge for said patch(and btw patches on the 360 are EXPENSIVE) and also the work that would go into testing and fixing(testing and fixing heh something Skyrim could use still) somid-june aka a few weeks sounds about right
