UltraChenTV returns tonight with another episode of their Tuesday night joint show.
This game is disliked because of what it is gimmicky game with crap dlc. As for the whole saturation thing everyone knows that's bs. Capcom has been stingy and making half complete games while selling upgraded versions and dlc no one else is at fault here
I've always assumed it was because we're ugly and boring and really bad at video games, but we'd probably have to ask the tootsie roll owl to know for sure
1) I think there's a problem breaching the gap between the people who could use / be interested in the material you guys present (newcomers) and those who actually find your streams. If I'm here at eventhubs, and I have an interest in SFxT, I have already now watched desks video of the changes and read the notes on it and it took me less than 10 minutes to do so. In what way am I motivated to watch you guys discuss it as a main topic for 1.5h? A really casual player that would need for instance your information in first attack doesn't even hang at SRK and he certainly doesn't know about twitch.tv, re-streams and all that nonsense.
2)The way the show is structured is to much for the current ADHD kids, it's like listening to a long basementshow. Look at fingercramps tutorials etc for how it should be done (I'm not in any way saying that the content should be equal or Jago is putting out better material). It's also very hard to be motivated to spend hours of your life on the topics you describe often. People want entertainment and not lectures and you're in no position to tell them otherwise really. You would get more viewers writing something like "Today we discuss hype in fightinggames and skype with guest famous-loudmouth" about it then writing "We discuss the latest SF patch" (sorry but you guys are non competitive players at the end and most people will browser forums for the lowdown early).
3) There's nothing wrong with either of your personalities you're both very likable. There just seems something off with production watching you guys sitting in a basement / livingroom streaming in casualwear. Hell an avoiding the puddle tournament stream feels / looks more professional then what you guys are doing and it's not cause of the actual material at hand (as they get very rowdy). You are what you present yourselves as. This goes in all areas of life. Maybe you should also somewhat try to integrate viewers by for instance reading and have a dialogue with the chat or open up a forum with ideas or something instead of, in a way, assuming a sort of position of teachers (superiority?) who are there just to give out information one way into the empty vessels watching (who, in many cases, would body you in said games). This combined with your E-sports stamp which you sadly have (and you try really hard to make the show overly professional) cognitively can make it feel that the viewers must accept a role they don't want to be in in order to follow your show.
I think the show is great as it is. Keep up the good work!
You know what David; sometimes your true colors (for instance dislike for certain people in the community when commentating) or passive aggression really shines through. This is one of those times. But no matter what the issue is it always seem to stem from you putting yourself on a high horse and being somewhat of a narcissist. I wish you all the luck in the world with the show and I still believe it fills a function within the community. Good luck.
