People hate on the guy for some pretty superficial reasons. It's clear the guy has passion for what he does, and the stuff he puts out is fun as well.

@2 & 3 - that's because (some) people on the net are naturally a--holes and just love to hate for the most ridiculous of reasons.

Well I for one suppport Max and will support him in keeping the Assist Me show alive. Majority of the episodes has been really entertaining (LOVE DOOM), and I'm sure its helping some people learn the basics and get into this game.

I think darksyde geoff has said everything about this issue that has to be said.

max isn't the first youtuber to go broke and have to beg for money from viewers, and he won't be the last. keep the show up nonetheless good stuff.

Everyone knows Geoff isnt ever serious about stuff like this. They're both awesome guys. Hope everything works out for Max. He's done an incredible job in helping the FGC. People who find any way of hating on him should probably reflect upon themselves and realize that this isn't a matter of financial controversy... it's about helping a community member who has worked very hard to give us more than we may even deserve. Besides, it's what he loves to do. :)

Who the **** is Geoff? Since when did 13 year olds who live with their mom and dad get take seriously in this community. Wow. I don't even.

They should consider a kickstarter

Geoff is a long time griefer who has been getting messing with people through reviews and just regular online trolling for many years. He started to get noticed by the FGC because of his bit with evo online, mockery of darksydephil, and very solid Cammy tutorial (some of this has also been on eventhubs). The guy offers solid entertainment via lampooning the typical online mentality and looking at things critically. If you can think logically and chill you might even like him.

Max was smart enough to say he had it coming if you even bothered to watch the video. His landlord said cut it out and he didn't. Max literally brought it on himself. That said he does good work and paying for it is entirely up to the consumer. Max's friend Mike really is the one who has problems.

Max had to choose between keeping his condo and ending Assist Me, or moving out and keeping Assist Me going. Obviously, he chose to keep doing the things he loves doing. Like he mentioned, this isn't the big issue since he was only renting that condo. While moving sucks, it's not the end of the world for Max.

The bigger issue is that Mike AKA Wesker lost his job just as he's about to have a kid. That's awful timing, and I really hope everything works out for that guy.

Finally, more content that will be removed from the EventHubs and SRK's page. Unfortunately EH did not add the option to block any post dealing with Max's crap.

It's about time for a cleaner, safer, internet for us all.

Trying to characterize Max as a "youtuber gone broke" is astoundingly disingenuous.

Max is anything but broke, and has clearly had a good enough job to pay for what is a very expensive hobby when the production values are so high. He continues to have said job, but is pointing out that if his new rent ends up being too expensive, that would preclude spending so much on the hobby.

I have a suspicion that Max's idiotic haters are in for bad news; given the amount of support Max has, the fact that he himself handles things like a pro, Max's productions are probably going nowhere. (Given that Mike manages to get a good job soon; good luck to that guy.)

Everyone who dumps on Max spending so much out of his pocket, and more importantly, spending so much time, for the community deserves to have their website feeds stuffed with five times more content they hate. Tear up boys, time to get busy down in the salt mines.

I feel bad for Mike but seriously if Max loves his hobby so much why is he now asking for a profit from people?
His twitter was far more blunt than this watered down version of the truth. He is broke and cant pay for rent cuz Mike cant help him.

we should all very well donate to Mike and not Max.

To clear up a few things real quick:

Max makes enough from his other YouTube shows to pay his bills. He doesn't need Assist Me to pay them. But out of all of his shows, Assist Me is the only one that takes a lot of time and has actual production costs. If I'm not mistaken, it's also his favorite show to produce.

Even without me, he could continue doing Assist Me. He started the show without me, and I wasn't truly heavily involved until Ultimate Assist Me. But now I'm the main writer, and I make most of the costumes (or recruit existing cosplayers to fill the roles). If I can't afford the time to work on Assist Me, I won't. The show could go on, but Max wants to keep me on board.

Basically, he's looking to have the means to "hire" me to work on the show, hence the move for a donation plan. I love working on the show, and I hope I still can in the future, but the family comes first, and if I have to take up a second job (a very real possibility) I won't have time to work for free anymore.

TL;DR, Max isn't asking for donations because he needs them. He'd do just fine financially without Assist Me. He'd probably be better for it. But he *likes* making Assist Me, and he wants to keep me around if he can.

I do appreciate all the sentiments thus far, and I even LOL at the haters. I just don't want people questioning Max's intent with his request. He's a good guy, and he doesn't want to stop making a show he and thousands of others have come to love.

Yep. I just kinda made an account to clear up some of the misconceptions. Some seem to think Max is putting games over his life, but that's not really the case.

I'm probably pissing into the wind, but you know. Just want people to realize he's not making a dumb decision. If the show were putting Max in danger of being on the streets, he wouldn't be doing it. As he said in his video, his rent will be higher at his new place, and he's okay with that. He can afford it, Assist Me or not.

Why would anybody hate on a contributing community member being honest and forthright?

@CosBlade: Well, if you're really Mike (I really wish its you, otherwise I would feel really stupid >.<) just would like to congrats you for the baby and to tell that I'm really a fan of your interpretation of Wesker and Deadpool, keep the good work, here at mexico you, Max and the entire assist me crew have lots of fans. Honestly until today I didn't realize I had that many fans. I feel pretty stoked that anybody in the community digs what I do.

I still remember the outtake video of Jill Assist me, where your said with a sandwich at hand "Nobody cares Max" with a cracked voice. Easily one of the funniest moments of the series.
