After the jump there is a few more matches that are relatively old but we haven't posted them.

Terrible game - That said, I'll go back to my SFxT because I love my SFxT.
Not to mention that I cannot wait to pay for my beloved DLC's - No trollin~
nice gameplay footage; game overall looks solid for an indie game, has interesting handrawn characters, nicely detailed stages, the bgm is from the castlevania composer. I'm sold
excellent game
@9 The game is going to have more characters in the future some of which are going to be male (such as Panzerfaust and Big Band) and unlike SFxT this DLC will be developed post launch.
The is likely to be priced reasonably well (think ~15-20$ tops) and while there is only 8 characters, there is 3 different ratios which greatly increases the variations.
If they kept the game 1v1 then there would only be 8 possible matchups. With 2v2 3v3 1v2 1v3 2v3 also possible it greatly increases the match ups and variety. There is 92 different possible teams in the game (8 1 char teams. 28 2char teams. 56 3 char teams)
There's really no reason to complain about the number of characters in this game right now. The gameworld has dozens of potential characters, but obviously Reverge could only afford so much within their timeline. This is the sort of game that DLC was MEANT for.
This isn't like Capcom padding their pockets with SFxT. I'm pretty sure without sales, the DLC for Skullgirls will not even be produced, and Reverge will probably just dry up from there. I bet Mike Z and the core team are even donating hours right now to help polish everything up.
#9 Everyone tier whores anyways, so imagine taking the top 8 people and making it just that. How insecure are you where you get upset because a game is based on girls? You would rather pay for stupid costumes and updating a game with 4 characters, rather than supporting an indie game, in which you would just (illegally) torrent a game. Internet tough guy.
#11,13,14 It isn't "confirmed," but it is highly suggested. Since it is an independent release, XBLA and PSN will not allow the company to say the release date. As a part of that, Skullgirls keeps getting put on the backburner for more "important" releases, such as the MW3 DLC and things like that.
Pass. I'll be happy with P4U. Akihiko and Chie waifu await.
This game looks amazing for being an indie game, it seems to have some hilarious mechanics, the one that can remove it's head comes to mind and great sound effects.
That there is a castlevania composer doesn't say a thing, especially since he isn't even using castlevania like bgm and I'm really not much for the "one gender" type with the cast. (All girls or all guys)
Love the artwork but I feel this game will be short lived and by the time the new characters are out for DLC, everybody would have moved on from the game already.
imo it will be great they will have to expand obviously but if they do it right with what previous comments have said
couple more characters and just keep it at that if my game is good ive come to realize its enough for me im not gunna give into the hype of these dlcs anymore just because im done spending extra for whatever got left on the cutting floor or what already on the disk its a shame and needs to be stopped but other than that i wanna play this game now cant wait
Why does this game feel like it's been in development forever? I've already lost hype for it months ago, and not being able to give us a release date doesn't help.
They need more males in the roster. Beside the two confirmed, I like to see atleast 2 more that aren't directly related to the plot itself but to the characters themself. Like those dead gangsters who were part responsible for Filia's disfigurement. They could work as an undead unit of sort in this game and serve as a comic relief. That'd be interesting.

ah about the bgm there are a few stage themes (not all of them) that sounds like a nod toward the castlevania like atmosphere. it usually means also it supposed to have the same feeling of being in a dark castlevania like universe of course heavy jazz based setting is mixed in on some bgm. ANd its not going to be all gender released, male characters will be introduced into the mix via legit dlc
#23
yeah initially was supposed to be late summer early fall release but they delayed the release date due to them wanting to polish the game up (there were several versions of this game in the past months during game play) and yeah that might have killed the initial hype but it would be nice to get something high quality on day 1 purchase. (they also mentioned free content mixed with dlc (probably the additional characters)
#14 on the twitter stream its been hinted that a steam adaption will be in the works depending on how the console versions perform
#11
rumored date is 4/4/2012 for xbox live and i imagine the release date is the same for PSN (like i sayed its rumored since i thought before it was supposed to be 3/31/12 on another rumor)

the sheer variety of how the characters can interact with each other for an initial roster of 8 characters ( there are loads of spots missing) compensates based on how you want to go 1 vs 1 or 3 vs 3 or whatever. Roster size is nice but if the roster is 60+ characters but the gameplay is initially crap (naruto and dbz games come to mind if you want things competitive)
The whole gender thing dosent bother me too much, but adding males would be great to make it more diverse. ST had only two females,a few guys couldnt hurt. http://mercilessrose.tumblr.com/post/... so far the possible dlc concept characters for female design i like are, feng, sabine, marin,d.violet, and black dhalia. As for males panzerfaust, needle head, braindrain, six sword steve, and leduc is okay not really feelin him tho. But this is my little wish list if any of them might become dlc.
@26
"depending on how the console versions performs"
Ugh. That's such an annoying tactic...
What that does tell us though is that they were not developed concurrently and they're planning on sitting on it for months to release it long after interest in it has dwindled.
@29 Normally I'd be annoyed too, but given the small size of the team / budget it is understandable that they need to wait to see how the game performs before putting forth resources to the PC version.
This isn't like Capcom / Dimps with SF4 or SFxT where the company is huge. Or Namco who never releases Tekken games on the PC. This is a team of around a dozen people working with the community on this game.
They probably need to show the game is a success to Konami (who is publishing the game) so that they can get more money to put the game on PC. Mike Z has made it pretty clear he wants it on PC, it isn't like he is saying "ehhhh I dunno... maybe if the game does well on consoles I could get around to it."
Baloney vs Copper's fight, 02:08
Was that a Jojo's Bizarre Adventure reference?
This game looks interesting enough for me to give it a try. $20 for SFxT's characters? No thanks, I'm spending my bucks in Skullgirls. Capcom can rip anyone else off if they want to though
