Street Fighter X Tekken on PC will not feature local online co-op

Posted by SFilp • March 26, 2012 at 3:28 p.m. PDT
Street Fighter X Tekken on PC will not feature local online co-op Street Fighter X Tekken is being released on the PC May 11, 2012 and will use Games for Windows Live.

With GFWL and Xbox Live being almost virtually the same (gamertag, achievements, ect) it prompted the question about local online co-op.

Will the PC version of Street Fighter X Tekken have Local Online Co-op? - Shredder

Svensson: With regard to this feature, it will function identically to the X360 version, which does not have couch co-op that can go online.

Um since the issue with the 360 version apparently was a "time" issue lol, why can't they implement this in the game months after? I don't understand... did Sony really pay them to gimp Microsoft versions?

Don't worry. We will mod it in. We have the time and the technology. The 6 Million Dollar game shall exist.

After all, the PC version of Skyrim has multiplayer mods for both local co-op and online co-op.

Funny how they blamed no online co op on xbox 360 due to disk space constraints. There should be no reason for this problem on the digital exclusive pc sfxt. Stay free crapcom.

Yeah, no one's gonna buy this thing. Months after the fact and still gimped with the same horrid DLC setup.

Then it'll be blamed on piracy and they'll use the excuse to stop making PC games altogether.

Lol, stay ridiculous FGC.

And, BTW, he didn't say that online co-op is not there, just local co-op online with someone sitting next to you going online. Offline co-op should be there, and online co-op with another online partner should be in.

This game is trash anyway. I hope NO ONE buys it for PC, it's a trap!

#20
RedRapperSux said on March 26, 2012 at 4:15 p.m.

@19 Maybe the local co-op online would actually make the game more fun or just make the game fun in general. I mean MW3 is ASS but when I had a friend to play the split-screen online... It suddenly became fun.

#21
kakashiisagod said on March 26, 2012 at 4:18 p.m.

@xykes try explaining to capcom what you expect should be in a complete game, I'm sure they tell each other jokes about it around the office each day.

Watch a independent programmer will fix capcom's game, fix the audio, put in a proper GGPO, then get sued. Capcom will then take the programers code as part of the settlement because he (the poor hacker) cant afford to be sued by Ca$com, fix the game add Dan, then re-sell it to you for $20 as a new product, which you will then buy and play over a barrel. This mentality puts Amurika in debt. You heard it here first.

#28
Jedda678 said on March 26, 2012 at 4:41 p.m.

If you all hate the game so much why don't you just ignore whatever news comes out for it? Honestly every SFxT post is just complaining and crying over spilled milk. Yes capcom has obviously been paid off by Sony for the exclusive with PS Vita and Microsoft just secured it for PC and 360 as a title in their library. What I hope Capcom does is move DLC foward instead of waiting for the vita version. Microsoft should pay to have it moved ahead of sony's so they could in turn screw Vita sales of this game.

@27

i sincerely do. getting exclusive 2 chars and 2 chars ahead of time yh, but outright "here's a little something extra to gimp the other versions" seems a bit much, considering the major money blow they got with that PSN Hacking and would require lots of money i imagine to get that in, which imo would not be a good move since its a way higher risk for fewer sales.

also Capcom would not risk getting sued because of it, unless it was indeed a mistake.

and then again, so much hate yet when it comes out people will buy it, or support the DLc yada yada yada...
it does hurt a bit, 40$+ on DLC and some independent people can make just as good content for free, without having the same tools.

#33
RedRapperSux said on March 26, 2012 at 5:21 p.m.

@28 Capcom is going to keep being Capcom, nothing is going to change. They will keep pressing forward and doing whatever it is they want to do. They will never give a straight answer and they will continue to beat around the bush. People will buy their games and they will be profitable. Of course their reputation will drop but that is not going to stop people from buying their games, evidently. Credibility isn't even an issue at this point and it is sad. We can only truly be heard if we ALL put our foot down and to be honest, I think I have a higher chance of winning the lottery than seeing the community come together and boycott Capcom.

And I'm one of your rare customers who bought SF4, SSF4, SSF4AE for 360, PS3 and PC. Complete costumes on all 3.

You won't get as much of my support this time.

Damn lol. The ps3 version might as well say on the cover ( exclusive megaman, pacman, cole, toro the cat, kuro the cat, and local online co-op only on PS3/PSN). Its crazy how not even the pc version is getting this feature. maybe capcom is just being lazy because time definintly aint an issue since they have about 2 months or less left til it comes out on pc right? ( sorry havent been keeping up with pc version).

#68
bojack13 said on March 27, 2012 at 6:20 a.m.

@34 Sad but true. Personally I would not eat a tasty piece of candy if it were covered in crap but apparently there are enough gamers who would gladly eat that crap candy with a smile on their face to keep Capcom profitable.

@72 I've got a good enough laptop to hook up to my 65" plasma via HDMI to play SF4 at a much higher resolution than I ever could with a console. Or I could take that same laptop to work and play against co-workers. Either way I have the option of using wireless PS3 controllers or my PS3 or 360 arcade sticks.

The PC gaming platform is always going to be superior to consoles and will have the ability to do anything consoles do but better (that kinect/move BS can easily be made on PCs but no one will ever bother to, let alone make games for it). But since PCs require a lot more knowledge to setup and maintain, consoles will always be more popular and get the games and attention.
