King of Fighters 13 tutorials: DandyDLC and Atlus USA's gameplay and systems guides

Several years ago DandyDLC put together "The Beginner's Incomplete Guide to KOF" and placed it on YouTube in an attempt to help players adapt to the King of Fighters engine.

This tutorial is comprehensive and is easy to follow along, so check it out in the embed below. The video has been preserved on Rogueyoshi's channel.

These tutorials aren't gonna help any.

The strict input timing is what is gonna keep this game down. "Pros" may like it because it keeps anyone from just picking up and playing but that is why the KoF games will always be small time even if they are good.

Being playing kof since 94, the input aren't really that strict and difficult, majority of combos are easy except for a few odd characters that has unusual inputs like angel and mei li, similar to SF's viper with the jump cancel and stuff, but these characters take a little time to get use to, other characters are pretty easy to get use to like kyo, k, iori.

@6 i personaly believe its because people have a certain comfort zone they dont want to learn a new games,it might be easy for me to say since i used to play alot of kof games,my first was 96 and up but the combos arent as bad as you think,13 has plenty of combo options,no one forces you to do the hardest combo in the game. Theses tutorials are great for fundamental understanding of the game if people arent afraid to pick it up.
