Capcom blog states that Yoshinori Ono has fallen ill and has been hospitalized

The Japanese Capcom blog has stated today that Street Fighter X Tekken producer Yoshinori Ono has fallen severely ill and has been hospitalized. Here is a translation from fellow Eventhub staffer Nyoro.

I would like to bring something else to everyone's attention. Shortly after the Street Fighter X Tekken promotion in Asia Ono-san fainted and he had to be taken to the hospital.

Because of his hospital tenure he will not be performing work-related affairs for a while. Thankfully it hasn't ended up being very severe and we wish for his steady recovery.

The full details are unknown at this time but we will update this story once we find out more.

Please wish Ono-san a speedy recovery by leaving comments below or on his Twitter.

I can't help but think his hectic travel promoting the game had something to do with it. If you follow him on Twitter, you could see he was all over the place.

Also might not've been helped by stress relating to SFxT's issues...especially if they're issues he had no say in making.

Or maybe that's all unrelated and he ate some bad food.

@ NyuBomber - I think it's probably more to do with all the travelling he's been doing. Every time I saw a post of his pop up on my Twitter feed, dude was in another country. Was starting to wonder when the man slept honestly...

The issues themselves might not have caused stress, but the responses he got might, which is a shame. Some of the things people have said on these folks twitter is pretty f-ed up. Don't care how angry they feel, wishing bodily harm on someone else is just extremely bad karma...

Anyway, not going to get into all that. Hopefully he recovers soon. Need more of his enthusiasm in the industry.

Assuming Mr. Ono isn't an ax murderer or anything like that that we don't know about, I hope he gets better. I wish sickness and suffering on no decent person, and I hope he expediently recovers with a minimum of suffering.

This does not change my opinion of Capcom the company in the slightest: they as a company still need to answer for the mess that is SFxT, and their false advertisement toward XBox360 owners. I sincerely hope Capcom doesn't try to parlay this into a delay of such. If part of the reason for this mess includes compelling Ono to work on the game while in an incapacitated state, then they need to get called out for that as well.

I am glad there are people who can actually look beyond a corporation's "greed".. And realize that even though the business itself is a monster... There are still humans working under it.. And I personally have no bad disliking to Capcom on anything they do.. I understand as a business they do what needs to be done.. Even if it seems underhanded... I just figured they were doing the whole 12 character thing to secretly make up for funds due to that natural disaster there... I could be right and I could be wrong but I could care less for others opinions about my response...

Ono seems to be a good man who does what he loves. I like his direction in the company and regardless if people call him a troll.. He is in a moment of weakness and I as well as the rest of the FGC need to support him in his time of need... For those who would even find it funny for someone to be in this state of condition... Well when and if anything bad happens to you... Then do not feel surprised when the shoe is on the other foot and you have people being sarcastic about your condition.

Well anyways.. I really do hope Ono recovers and when he does.. He needs to take some time off and keep out of the way of these rapid dogs in the FGC.

issues with Capcom aside, I know it's more of a corporate issue than with the developers. Ono and his team are very passionate folks who loves videogames and unfortunatly get caught in the politcal vacum of the video game buisness. Japanese Developers are under a lot of stress and pressure to get these games done.

I wish Ono a speedy recovery and hope he gets well soon and that he takes it easy.

Sometimes joking is the best way to break Tension guys(@ people who are mad at people joking), and knowing he's deathly ill to the point of hospitalization is very heavy with the tension stick. Mind you there's a difference between being an a$$hole(a few people have crossed that line into such) but don't be mad about people joking alittle.

Anyway Get Well Soon Ono, I do want to see your vision for the future of Street fighter and knowing you had such radical ideas just to see you pass is gonna be heart breaking especially after You've put forth ideals to move the genre in a new direction(while it might not be considered the best it's stll better then small tweaks and improvements.

A lot of people hate on Ono for stupid reasons like not making 3ed strike 2 and changing characters with nerfs, but I don't see how anyone could hate on someone who has such a great passion for Fighting Games. He is the one Pushing Capcom for Darkstalkers to come back. You may dislike SF4, but the game did what needed to be done, to bring people back into fighting games. I hope ono is alright and can't wait to see what he does with his next game.
