On that same note, Team Ninja's Yosuke Hayashi spoke with Joystiq about taming the sex and violence image this series is known for.
That DoA 5 clip was somewhat boring when I saw it last week, but wow, is the Premium demo much better. You can have your command list on screen in the corner whilst fighting. You can't pause to scroll through the moves, you press a button, and it brings up moves related to that button. The demo feels somewhat more like DoA 3, with better stage transitions, and pressing buttons during the stage transitions changes the cinematic.
Hayabuse does either a Kamehameha or the Izuna Drop for his stage transition, and oh damn, the Izuna Drop Free Hold counter to Izuna Drop Stage Transition does extremely mad damage. 90% with the life bars set on largest.
*Hayabusa not Hayabuse ¬_¬"
I don't know, I really haven't enjoyed any of Hayashi's games that he took from Itagaki. I've spent more time playing the DoA 5 demo than playing Ninja Gaiden III. Yes, I completed it on hard, and have started a Master Ninja playthrough for those who care, but the game's mindless and just not as strategic as before.
DoA 5 also seems somewhat tournament worthy, but I've been discovering ways to end second and third rounds with one combo.
Nice artwork. On the other hand that guile theme video was terrible. ugh

Source?
DOA always sells well unless its on the PSP. Trust me the game will do fine.
I look forward to Tecmo out performing Capcom. This company gives you a complete game (more than 1 costume, for Free?!?!!??!), and actually takes in (and welcomes) community feedback. I played the demo, its awesome, your lose if you pass this awesome game up.
I see what Yosuke Hayashi is doing with DOA5. He's trying to make this more as a serious fighter rather than a game where you can just look at the women as eye candy. However, they up the ante by adding Akira Yuki from Virtua Fighter on which I gotta admit he looks the same as he was in his own series. I'm also aware that he isn't the only VF character that made the cut.
@#11 kakashiisagod:
There are a total of 6 costumes per character on the premium DoA 5 demo. Only two costumes are accessible by default though, and in the game character select data, we have Akira, Ayane, Bass, Bayman, Brad, Christie, Eliot, Genfu, Hayabusa, Hayate, Helena, Hitomi, Jann Lee, Kasumi, Kokoro, Lei-Fang, Leon, Lisa, Mila, Pai, Rig, Sarah, Tina, Zack. Akira, Pai, Sarah are from VFighter. Although I think that the "Sarah" name should be a character from VF, as the name's common and it may be a new DoA character so....
I seriously dont care for the guile meme,most people that like/make this stuff dont even play fighting games (this come from people i know and their friends personaly) if you like the meme and play sf i respect that more of course. @7 some opinions make fortunetellers out of people,christ.
Wow DoA5 is looking nice. Havent played a DoA game since the sega dreamcast. I remember enjoying it but feeling a little awkward with my mom in the room with all those tits bouncing. Glad to see they toned that sh!t down.
@#17
Then why didn't you set your age lower¿ The lower your age the less bouncy the breasts. And on the DreamCast version, you could also turn it off, if you didn't want to enter an age, couldn't you¿

do you know if Ein in the game? I know he is a different version of hayate but his fighting style was different karate feel then hitome. Somewhat of a tradition of him being in the doa games even if the personality isn't involved in main plot.
lol on youtube some of those guile vids make me laugh mainly the the "your not the father video" just because it fits so well lol..
@#21 HooliganComboFTW:
His name wasn't in the parameters I searched, and I was somewhat disappointed as well. But this is just an Alpha, I'm hoping that in newer code we may see more character names. Ein may have felt similar to Hitomi, but they are way different. Also I see Ein as a different character, the same way Jin/Devil Jin, Ryu/E. Ryu, Gouki/Oni, Chun-Li/Shadow Lady are different characters.
Loved DOA 3, not so much DOA 4 or Dimensions. Although it looks nice, it also seems like stage hazards do way too much damage in this game, and that matches can end with two good reads.
That said, I do generally like Tecmo's decisions to give players more "complete" games for the actual stated price. Dead or Alive: Dimensions is on the 3DS yet has more than twice as many game modes as anything recently released by Capcom, as well as all the costume packs being completely free.
Will definitely pick up DoA5. The series isn't my favorite 3D fighter but I have always had a soft spot for it. DoA4 was also one of my first 360 games and it really made the purchase of the console worth while at a time when it didn't have many games.
@17 Oroku_Saki
Didn't know about that. Actually now that I think hard about it, I never owned the game. I just played the hell out of the demo lol.
@22 HooliganComboFTW
The "you're not the father" vid is easily my favorite as well.
Worst Guile's theme I've ever seen was the one involving footage with 9/11 ........what was disturbing was how well it went with it.. almost... perfectly...
