Updated: Svensson has posted a new comment on this matter at hand. Will 2 player local co-op on Xbox Live be patched in for the 360 version of Street Fighter X Tekken? — Weegee
Svensson: It will not be patched and apologies for the manual inclusion. Seems it was an oversight. The difference has to do with how Xbox Live differs from how it handles online and offline accounts.
According to the team:
"PS3 version: It is possible to mix and match online and offline players for scramble battles and pair play battles. Two local players can play on the same PS3 using 1 PSN ID, and play against other players online.
360 version: It is NOT possible to mix and match online and offline players for scramble battles and pair play battles. So you either have to have all players be offline and local (so 4 players, 1 Xbox) or have all the players be online (4 players, 4 Xboxes)."
The reason for this difference is because of the architecture differences between gamertags and PSN IDs. I’m not sure of the technical details, but basically it amounts to: Sony made it so you can mix and match online and offline, and Microsoft made it so you can’t.
Svensson: I'm going to be looking into this issue further btw. I'm also a bit confused by the feedback from the team.

Yep, you must all be paying for "Dat" Gold account. ¬_¬"
Not to start a console war, but it seems Sony has the better perks for this game.
SMH, tsk tsk.
Microsoft: Only gives exclusives and sh!t to FPS.
Sony: Only gives exclusives and sh!t to fighters.
How about they try fixing the sound on the game? OR we can get DLC that makes it so the sound functions properly.

Uh, how is this "exclusive" to PS 3? You do realize that this was completely out of both Microsoft and Capcom's hands right? You do realize that the Xbox 360 came out in 2006, right?
Psst, nothing like this has been close to being done before outside of MK 9. What, you think Microsoft anticipated this would happen? How cute.
#8, #10
Aw look, two people that have no idea what they're talking about, how cute.
It's cute both of you have no idea how consoles work, or how you think it's as simple as a button press to magically fix any issue.
So wait, why can I play Gears of War 3 and Halo Reach online with a buddy sitting next to me, and not this game?
This is some BS. They should give us some dlc characters for free then.
#12
Maybe it's because those are two completely different games with different network structures?
Maybe it's because you're using just one gamertag when you do that?
#17
Hey kid, no, he's not. It's called you don't know how the network infrastructure works.
Psst, you only use one gamertag on Xbox 360.
#6 it is still possible but they would have to be on seperate xbox consoles.
OH and Mortal Kombat!!! You can play that with a buddy on your couch, and both go online together.
@2 you are exactly right, that was what I was thinking. Just sign in as a guest and it should work, but I guess not.
Also I hate that you have to sign in as guest when you have you and a player next to you play the same game. Its so stupid, I guess ps3 has the best and original idea.
not really sure I see how this is microsofts "issue", if it's a feature readily available in other games. Did they not test for this? It's one of the major "features" of the game, why wouldn't they test to make sure it worked properly? If it's a problem with a netcode, then i mean i don't really know im not a developer. this is just kinda sucks.
Why does the second person even has to use his own account. Have him appear as nobody with no username, who cares. As long as 2 people local can play online.
Am I missing something here? Weird design decision.
If I cant get BP from those matches, more power to me. I should still be able to play as a nobody.
And did anybody notice that the back of the Xbox package says '38 characters'? God damn liars.
RebornOdin gets "stingy a55hole who thinks he knows everything" of the year.

hey hey hey bro, i thought you thought "their tactics are perfect ;)" bro. hmmmm
@11: There’s no need to know "how consoles work". If there are games out there which offer such a feature on Xbox, it’s possible, simple as that. So when Capcom says it doesn’t work for whatever reason they made up, they’re just making excuses.
@11.
I majored in video games design for a few years, and work as an IT tech now. I know how systems work, and it's not just a simple button press. Honestly, I was more attacking the core, rad, CoD only gamer then microsoft itself.
This issue was I guess caused by Capcom not looking at how the 360 work, and adjusting their game accordingly. I have seen online and offline gameplay on the 360. Hell, I did that all the time in Halo! I Think Capcom mainly focused on the PS3, and not the 360.
And can you blame them? In japan, capcom's home country, 360's are unpopular, compared to the PS3, that and it seems that Sony is willing to pay Capcom more, or work with them more then Microsoft, given the lack of exclusive characters, and Pac Man and Mega Man being Sony only for awhile. No wonder they messed this up.
Yes you can play 2v2 online in mk9
2 people in one home vs another 2 via online is possible.
DLC
Online not right
Super Super version soon
I know they said that they were not going to do another but I feel they may.
EXAMPLE 1
SF4 had a small online issue which was there were no lobbies only you and one other person. Later came ssf4 and they finally fixed the online problem
EXAMPLE 2
MVC3 had an online problem, you could not watch the current match as you wait your turn to play the game. They fixed that problem in UMVC3
Today now they have this problem, I knew something was going to happen wrong via online with this game. So its not microsoft fault its capcom, maybe they just dont get along with microsoft.
Damn! Talk about deal breakers.
Still, I don't understand how is this not possible, lots of other games let you do couch co-op online with a single gold account + guest account, i.e. GoW, Halo, CoD, L4D. Even MK let you play 2 local players vs online players. SMH
#49, Yes they will do a Super edition through DLC much like how AE was and AE2012.
What a load of bull. Many many games have that option for a guest account Gamertag(1) even Mortal Kombat has that options. Just say was extra work too get that mode on the Xbox360 time that was needs too put "dlc" on disk. I don't have a problem the "dlc" But you should make sure that the basic game work as advertised in all the media , site , trailers and even the game manual. before making on disk "dlc".
Better get the fact strait before the pc version because that will mostly be a 360 port so.
Sooooo, can you still go co-op online if your both signed into different online accounts? If not, then this is definitely on Capcom.
There are a TON of other games that successfully allow guest play with absolutely no problems at all on 360. Capcom said, pre-release, we could play 2v2 online on both systems. As has happened with this company before, the actual truth didn't come out until after everyone's pre-orders had gone through and we already had the game. What's worse is they are blaming the Microsoft infrastructure, when plenty of other games do it with ease? When is Capcom going to honestly and earnestly take some blame for something that's obviously their own fault?
Again: This is not the fault of the 360. This is the fault of Capcom, who can't really seem to do anything right these days.
come on guys, capcom still the man right!? *raises hand* who got my back? anybody? (>__>)...(<___<)
Guys, posting your frustrations here isn't going to do any good. You need to flood Ono's twitter, Sven, and Capcom-Unity with your complaints.
YEEESSS!!! This is DELICIOUS!!!
too bad for the xbox users but screw em, we ps3 users miss out so much on games like cod that i also play so i guess you can call this karma. but thats not really the reason i think this is so delicious , i know how much gootecks and mike ross were waiting to take their tag team online on xbox. but now that they cant, i think they will rather use psn then not do that show at all. which means i have a shot at playing them :D yeahhh booooi!!
You do know you can get refunds for being miss-sold the game ? people got refunds from Ubisoft when they lied about the drm on From Dust
Pretty much sums up Xblox and PS3 players right now.

Gears of war, Cod, Halo, Mortal Kombat and others have the option to use a Guest profile why does this game not support it?
Seriously, I don't see why anyone would even bother getting this game on the 360 if you had both consoles.
@ #83
Nope, the feature is completely missing from the xbox version.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand
I don't really care about this game at all (after the whole "finding DLC on disk" issue, I can wait for the DLC/disk update) but I really feel sorry for all the 360 users.
It sucks that such a cool feature (one reason I wanted to get the game) is completely useless to you all coz of whoever's fault it was.
i bet if it were a problem about not being able to buy DLC capcom would put every effort into fixing it. instead they give us some bulls--t reason like having the already completed, Post-dated, in-disk DLC
"uh its in the disk because its in the disk"
"online coop doesnt work because it doesnt work"
I will get it a month after the PC release just to be safe.
How can this be, You wait till the day of the release and then you drop a bomb like this, bad enough that the 12 dlc characters where found on the disk but now you cant even tag up with a friend beside you, which is what the game is all about, tagging up and beating some ass, I am sick to my stomuch, SORT THIS THE F**K OUT CAPCOM, If Mortal Kombat can do tag online then there is no f**king reason why Street fighter x tekken cant, BULLS**T
oh and i cant wait for sven to call you bitches for complaining about them refusing to find a solution for this
I wonder what gootecks and mike ross think? since they were hyping that up for excellent adventures.
lol since they don't like psn, no co-op excellent adventures.
oh cool, thanks for letting me know AFTER i got it for xbox already. Sighh, I knew I shoulda stuck with ps3
I wasn't even interested in the PS3 exclusive characters....but this? I was so looking forward to kicking some ass with my friends when they come over but nope. DENIED. I could always get the PS3 version, but it's the principle! This was promised to be in the Xbox release, it was even in the instruction manual. You'd think that Capcom's mouth and ass are switched because all they ever seem to say is bulls***. This can be done, it works on plenty of other games, but Capcom are either too lazy, or were too busy doing god knows what to do this. Way to go Capcom. You fail.
I am extremely glad that most people here aren't frantically dropping to their knees and defending this. There tends to be a lot of empty voices on Capcom's decisions concerning ridiculous business practices, but this is apparently not one of them. Anyone willing to make an online petition? It is absurd that they would falsely advertise their game like this.
Could everyone with a Capcom-Unity account leave a message in this thread, hopefully if we make enough noise Capcom will add 2 player co op online to the xbox360 version of the game. It was advertised AND is in the 360 instruction manual.
