They never said they would release in april. Only that more information regarding the consol release of these characters will be given in April

While finding these movies is fine since it makes sense to have these assets done at the same time as the other characters, I sure do hope people do not find character models with functional and playable movesets on-disc.

I really do not approve of character DLC for fighting games. They're literally the only things you play with in this genre. And while we have the general idea of how the Street Fighters will play and can then pick and choose accordingly (depending on how this is set-up), there's no telling if we'll like how the Tekken characters came out even if we're fans of the characters. This isn't a case of "Man, I like this game and would by more bonus levels for it."

guy is awesome,elena is the finest fighting game female character there is! capcom needs to keep the ball rolling and anounce a new game at the next big event like captivate, say darkstalkers 4, cvs3, a new alpha game or better yet... a totally new fighting game. i think we are all due for a new fighting ip anyway.

Idiots thinking that just because some art assets with no voice or anything programmed means that all the DLC characters are finished and fully implemented (just locked)
I mean really, this doesn't mean anything other than they finished the animating their intros before the game went Gold.

Really curious how Lei and Christie are gonna play but man cant wait to get my hands on Bryan, Elena, Dudley, and Cody and also Jack. 8bucks for 4 characters im sold better than 5 for 1 in UMvC3 which were both crap.

Why do they put them on the disc, they need to just take it out before release and just keep it available online since that is the plan.

Ok ok i dunno why but im tired of seeing it everywhere they WONT EVER RELEASE AN ALPHA GAME, if they did it would be called street fighter 5 with things from ae and alpha put into it, SFAE had alpha characters all they really need to do is make the other cast from alpha(ingrid included) and third strike and put them all in one street fighter game which will prolly be street fighter 6 or 7 by the time that happens.

They got me... I don't care that they pre-planned DLC pre-launch, I'm just happy Sakura is in... their tactics are perfect ;(

im pretty sure that Capcom said there would be some of the lesser known characters in the game. Capcom said it so it could easily be a lie but i think Q still has a chance.

I think they should scrap DLC characters and should include those 12 chars in a super-ish update along with new stages etc. because when they become DLC, even if a super update comes out you'd still need to buy them, like shuma and jill in mvc3 => umvc3.

No, Q has NO chance. Ono said explicitly during Thursday's LA launch, that Q was a "dead horse" issue and that he WOULD NOT be in this game.

I'm pretty sure most of the III cast is dead (as in dead to Capcom), Q at least is confirmed to be.
Would be a shame if we never get to see Urien and Aegis Reflector again though... If only Seth had that suit with hair as an alternative costume...!

@24 You don't know that for sure. How do you know console development isn't essentially finished and they're just sitting on them? This game has been in development for quite some time and most games have their DLC plans laid out very early on. Point is, no one knows. Pretty brilliant who Capcom has as DLC. Most will already buy the game as is. Now they can draw in more $$ with the FF fans, the Japanese school girl fans, and the Elena fappers.

I never could understand why people get mad about DLC being on the disc already. You paid for the game knowing what was available at launch. Why does it matter where the data for dlc is? If it's on the disc, it makes it easier.

Now if there were only 10 characters available and 30 more on the disc that you have to pay for then I would never buy the game in the first place because the initial content was not worth the money.

Still, these characters probably aren't done yet.

Because when I buy a game I expect to be able to play every level, use every weapon, and have every character available to me. It's exactly like buying a car and having to pay extra to use your radio.

If buy a car and you were were OK with buying it without the radio then you decide to buy a radio later and it just pops out of the dashboard without you having to go to the store and get it installed then that would be pretty convenient.

This anology only goes so far because you can't actually dowload a radio so let me say it one more way and I'll let it be.

Let's assume the game will be $60 and 12 more characters will cost $20 (probably more).

scenario 1: DLC not on the disc:
1. I pay $60 for a game knowing that I will have access to 39 characters.
2. DLC is released and I pay $20 knowing I will get acess to 12 more characters.
3. I download those characters onto my hardrive.
4. I now have paid $80 and I have access to 51 characters

scenario2: DLC is already on the disc:
1. I pay $60 for a game knowing that I will have access to 39 characters.
2. DLC is released and I pay $20 knowing I will get acess to 12 more characters.
3. I unlock those characters on my disc.
4. I now have paid $80 and I have access to 51 characters and I saved a little time and hardrive space.

Once again, I can't see any major issue with the dlc being on the disc as long as it wasn't included in the selling points of the original purchase. I just look at the result: $80 = 51 characters. It doesn't matter to me how I got it. The value for my money is the same either way.

It's simple logic. I'm supporting myself. Some corporations do bad things, this is not one of those things. My reasoning is quite clear.

Even if the characters are on the disk, you still haven't payed the people who created them since they only sold you 39 characters. You are paying for the creation not the data.

I read a book about how digital content is challanging people's concept of ownership. It points out that some people can't comprehend the idea of paying for someone's creation as opposed to an actual physical item since it is engrained in our caveman sensibilities to be able to experience our possessions directly.

You are only going to see more of this kind of thing as time goes on. OK I'm seriously done now.

It should have been Eddy not Christie. Eddy was the original can far more iconic in Tekken. Plus there already is a Capoeira girl. Not a fan of Lars either. (Lee Chaolan, anyone?) Glad Lei and Sakura are in though.

Most of these comments are stupid. Chances are these 12 characters weren't able to make the cut before certification. It's 12 characters and they don't even have gameplay footage of them yet. It's not blatant like EA and their Mass Effect BS, none of these 12 are ready for release.

hopefully they will already be in the pc release. And i hope there will be more characters over time. The only thing that leaves a bitter taste is that blanka is in.I cant stand that character.

If this is gonna be like SF Arcade Edition with both DLC and brand new disc, I'd rather wait 'till the disc.

They've said numerous times already that everything is being done by DLC. They ARE NOT releasing another disc verison of this game.

Well I was right. It looks like they were going to DLC the characters month by month until the Vita release later this year. This proves that. Models,videos are already in the disc, that means these are not vita exclusive
But at the same time, capcom did not put other data in the disc, like the action data,the frame data,the hitbox data, etc.
I guess they are still working on these things

Well, we're getting DLC. Capcom is adamant about that. I, for one, would LOVE to see Dudley/Elena/Jack in action. :)
